I can't think of anyone involved in competitive robotics that isn't a tryhard. I think you have to be :P

little late to respond to this but i'm anything but a tryhard.



so me and one of my friends got an opportunity to design and build a tourguide/telepresence robot.





this is a picture of the preliminary design. it could either moonlight as a crappy battlebot or a tiny FIRST bot.

the bowtie thing is a screen mount and is on a 4 bar arm to keep it perpendicular to the ground.

i'll keep you guys updated with design progress on my blog.

Are you using a skirt hinge as a burst motor?

yeah. and i justify using it by adding a co2 tank and having the "ram" pieces on the flipper arm which eat the weight i would have spent on the burst motor.
