TGM, do you wish to test this sometime? A good test for Evolve would be to see if we could play a half decent match: I'm in England, you are in Croatia. If this works without major lag, then we have something to work on considering it works between countries, something that is pretty impressive.
It has the capacity for VLAN Parties, so it might be able to work like the VPN Apanx has shown, but i'll be ****ed if i know. at worst it'll be an hamachi alternative.

It means bots can be used to instantly counter another bot if they think the opponent will use it. A little bit of chance but mostly strategy.
Maybe its an idea for another tournament, but for now, I don't know how to make this work without one team being on top early and the other team basically being doomed.
Sure this is all possible in the current tournament, but having all the match-ups be by chance lowers the possibility of it being 7 vs 1 after the first round.
Having it be 8 and 0 after the first round is literally my worst nightmare for this tournament.
Rather than voting for next matchup, what if each team just selected their next bot to compete, not announce matchups. Early on this wouldn't seem to make a difference, but as the available pool of opponents dwindles it becomes more of a team strategy of which bot to put forward.
That is precisely what i was trying to say, but couldn't articulate. Thank you.

presumably he's on good terms/helped with RWRA2, cause they built that arena for the now canceled RW2016 expansion of RWRA2. EDIT: actually that's just a picture of The Cat in the arena IRL, but that just goes to show how good the replica is.

I do hate it when people want to disregard all due process just because something suits them.
I'd be very interested in watching robot boxing matches, and possibly entering into a boxing tournament, but Badger is right, you can't enter personal tournaments. If this was reworked as a full tournament id be all for it, though.
Who was the guy who was going to run a boxing tournament many years ago? He had extra rules like having to have a head that could get knocked off (For a KO) and the robot having to be taller than a barrel in the workshop.
Well firstly this is an ongoing, running thing with repeated exhibition matches so a regular tournament system doesn't work, and it doesn't count as a contest. Display tournaments were built for things like this, and it doesn't hurt anyone if it is here. No reason to be "but muh tournament rules" in this case.

He did read, you just aren't listening. He's saying that gamespy or no gamespy, the RA2 multiplayer has horrendous latency and was poor for scheduling matches, thus BBEANS came in and made everything automated and AI'd. I'm willing to bet that just replacing the server used won't automatically fix RA2's multiplayer. Also, with CIV 4, if they managed to remove the gamespy files, i'm willing to bet it would take a Serge or Apanx to patch in Openspy, because i'm willing to bet it's coded right in the .exe, mainly because everything that we could ever want to mod is always in the ****ing .exe. (save_us.serge) If someone wanted to try and run it through a different server, have a look at Openspy. I know basically nothing about it other than THUGPRO (Tony Hawk's Underground Pro, based off Tony Hawk's Underground 2) runs off Openspy and it works bloody well, so if you want to try it, have a go. I still think that we need to do this in a method that does not involve things like Hamachi or Gameranger. Evolve is GameRanger alternative

It's not King of the Hill mode. Basically, the tournament starts with a 1v1 in the combat arena. then, the KOTH thing means that if you win, you remain fighting and get to pick the arena the next fight is in and get a random opponent.

You constantly harass him, bitch and moan about getting banned from ARC despite the fact that you literally stalked an moderator on FB so you will never be allowed back, you constantly follow Badnik no matter where he goes, and your total lack of intellect, building skill, CAD skill (your only bot was made by your dad, and it was sh**), human decency, English skills (WenXiangLee and TGM speak a second language better than you can speak your birth language), political awareness, lack of self-awareness, and sheer ignorant stupidity. All of these reasons (which are just the tip of the metaphorical iceberg of stupidity) is why you are never wanted here, or at ARC, or literally anywhere the robot combat community is. And you are oblivious to how stupid your tournament idea is, how we all do not want to take part, and the fact that everyone both here and ARC are never going to accept you, this obliviousness must have either been caused by you being mentally defective (and thought I was the worst autist here but way to take the throne) or being simply unfathomable state of lunacy that is almost Trump levels of stupid.

I would change the idea slightly: instead of making the bots chosen randomly, you should have the team vote/ have a captain pick the robot to face the opponent team.
This would add a layer of strategy to the situation.

Guldenflame already said that he has the components, meaning that while I made a mistake and didn't include them, it was effectively an non-issue because of him being prepared. And I have already apologised. What was the point of posting this, when I have recognised the error and will resolve it in the future?

Not everybody uses the DSC Component Mod.
Basically everyone whos built IRL has DSC's component packs. It's not unreasonable to assume the host has them IMO.
