The countdown clock and immobilization time may be turned off by using the following command.
plus.practice(True)
Unfortunately, we are unable to turn off one and not the other. You can try to use the sergepatcher for this but it isn't very easy to use.

The poll is now up and I've edited the first post to contain all relevant information. For the most part, you can vote for anyone that you believe contributed the most.

I'm still waiting to hear from Lightning S regarding his score.
| | Low-Level | | Mid-Level | | High-Level | | Score (before poll) | Lightning S. | | 5 | | 1 | | 0 | | 7 |
Only thing I see wrong is that there should be a 2 where the 1 is so the addition is right. Other than that it looks fine to me.
I wasn't performing just addition, I was following this formula: Score (before poll) = ((1 x # of low-level projects released) + (2 x # of mid-level projects released) + (3 x # of high-level projects released)) The multiplier was only applied when calculating the score: Score (before poll) = ((1 x 5) + (2 x 1) + (3 x 0)) = 7 Anyways, thanks for double checking. I didn't want to short you any points.

Yeah, I'm still looking into it. Please be patient.
Nice bot. It has been awhile since I last saw a VS with weapon motors that weren't mounted onto snappers. I find it to be refreshingly different.
Once again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience that this login issue is causing.

Maybe a good supplement to BOTM would be Contributor of the month?
Not a bad idea. However, it still takes time to look through and validate all the entries. Not to mention, I would have to create something worth having in order to keep up with the demand for prizes. I'll think about it and give people a little more notice if I decide to do it again. Uhh, there were 32 bots between both heats in my display tournament.
Whoops, I only saw the first post that you made. I fixed the mistake and our numbers match up now. I'm still waiting to hear from Lightning S regarding his score.

With the forum problems everyone (including myself) is having, I think we should continue to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game for a whole week(ending 25/2/13) or month(ending 18/3/13). I don't think people like Inf should be left out just because they can't log in or post.
The problem with extending the deadline is that it takes quite a bit of time to go through and validate all the submissions. The rules would also need to be changed and rebalanced accordingly. There will be other opportunities/contests for people to get the Action Cam so I don't think extending this contest is necessary. Furthermore, I have nothing against people that do things for the community without any incentives. Rewards are nice but that shouldn't be the only reason for doing things. I'm still looking for a long-term solution to the login error but the workaround of deleting cookies seems to work fine ATM. Eligibility: Limited to people that post in the discussion thread before Feb 20 (this thread). You must include either a link or description of what you did for Feb 18 in your post (if you did more than one thing, you don't have to post it all at once). If I am missing anyone, please let me know by midnight tomorrow (GTM time). This is a slight extension but considering that people can no longer change their scores, it shouldn't matter. Venko didn't post what he did but he stated what he was going to do and he followed through with it so I just threw him in. Right now, we have: | | Low-Level | | Mid-Level | | High-Level | | Score (before poll) | Lightning S. | | 5 | | 1 | | 0 | | 7 | MassimoV | | 5 | | 5 | | 0 | | 15 | Mr. AwesumSauce | | 5 | | 3 | | 0 | | 11 | venko | | 5 | | 0 | | 0 | | 5 |
Both Lightning S. and MassimoV were off on the points so if they think I have it wrong please let me know ASAP. Lightning S.: 5 new bots for 5 points and an image with 8 or more bots for 2 points. MassimoV: 5 new bots for 5 points, a tutorial for 2 points, and 4 sets of 8 different bots in tournament vids for 4 points. (Edit: This has been corrected.) Not the turnout that I was expecting but it is what it is. In hindsight, I should have given the reward to a fraction of the submissions instead of locking it in at 3 submissions. Regardless, I am happy to see that people participated.

Depending on a number of factors, a bot can get thrown out of the pits. I cranked up the elasticity of the pit floors and added an upward force that is suppose to launch bots whenever it delivers damage but you still get bots that fail to get thrown above the pits' edges. Some bots, however, get thrown almost as high as the skybox.

This mod allows you to randomly select an arena from the mode that you are in (Deathmatch, Battle Royal, Team Match, Obstacle Course, King of the Hill, or Tabletop). I've made numerous attempts in the past to make one of these but it wasn't until about a year ago that I had a sudden breakthrough in how to implement it. This version is 100% compatible with all of your arenas (not just the stock ones) and it allows you to replay on the same arena if you want. Whenever you want the arena to change, you merely need to go into the arena mode select menu and switch modes. To keep all your settings, you would then switch back to the initial mode that you were in. It is also worth noting that the random arena selector will always be at the top of the list if there is at least one arena in that mode. Turning hazards on/off will have the expected results for the arena that is selected by the randomizer. DOWNLOAD: HereWARNING: This mod affects your "Arenas/__init__.py" so be sure to make a backup (especially if you are using a modded version).

I've had this sitting on my computer for quite some time so I figured that its time to release it. My initial plan was to add asteroids and other crazy hazards but I haven't worked on it in quite so time and nothing that I add stays in it. In fact, every time I tried adding something to this arena, it always evolved into something else (namely the ActionCam and Online Arena). Big thanks to Jonzu95 for posting a schematic of the arena in the Arena Ideas thread ( here). Here are some pretty pictures. Features: - There is an outer wall to this arena but if you go too fast up a ramp, you may end up flying out of the arena.
- The AI is fully capable of navigating this arena and not following opponents into the pits.
- The pits deliver damage as opposed to eliminating bots.
You can download this arena from here.

It seems to work for me but it is possible that you are exceeding the max file size. If you would like to upload a larger file, I can add it manually for you.

Would you mind uploading the bots someplace so that we can take a look at them? As Naryar said, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the bindings.

The lights themselves are saved inside of the arena so you can reduce shadows from there.
If you just want to reduce the reflectivity of the bot's chassis, you can alter the settings in the bot file (shadows can not be changed from here).

You can control the direction of the light in the botlab by rotating the component's 3D view.

According to Google Translate it means "Viper robot" in Japanese. I find it to be unique and highly appropriate considering all of his bots have ended in "Viper."

Alright, I added your stuff to the downloads section. For future reference, users can upload to this section without me (its no biggie for me to do it for you but I would prefer that people do it themselves). I only did a quick once over for the files in the rar files. As such, I missed the tutorials that you put in a separate folder. However, unless I'm mistaken, they aren't new tutorials and they can already be found on GTM.

Just a suggestion, I would make "Associate forum accounts to builders so that you don't need to give it as a separate input." a feature before you release it if you plan on releasing it at all. If you do it without now, the changeover later on to include all previously uploaded bots under a user's linked account would likely be a nightmare. Or I could be completely wrong, I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Based on the information that I had given you, you would have been correct about it being a hassle. However, I also planning on creating a MySQL database entry for each bot that is added to the exchange. The advantage of doing this is that it would create a reference from bot to builder (and visa versa) that I could also use for implementing a number of the extra features that I mentioned. Also, I know it appears as though I haven't done much (only 2 things on the done list) but parsing the bot file is one of the hardest things that I have listed and I have spent this week working on the interfaces. I also upgraded the wiki on Monday and tried fixing that login error on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As I mentioned in the Paint Job thread, I am working on a new bot exchange. I do not want to step on anyones toes but if Serge or Goose decide to continue working on their versions, I would be glad to assist them by any means necessary. Ideally, I would like to merge all our work together but I'm not holding my breath for this (Serge has already said that he didn't want to mess with Goose's code due to the difference in programming languages). Also, while we are on this topic, please do not PM either of them about this. I have already done so and it is unnecessary to fill up their PM boxes. Moving on... Things that I have done: - A PHP program that parses the bot file. This is able to extract quite a bit of information about the bot.
- A python program that parses the bot file. This is basically the same as the above but it would be similar to the one used by Serge and PyRA2. This probably won't be used but I'm listing it anyways.
- A PHP program that converts TGA files into JPG files. The preview image starts out as a TGA file and it needs to be converted before we can use it on the site.
- Create an interface for listing all the bots.
- Link all the files related to uploading so that they run sequentially.
- Integrate a MySQL database for performance and future enhancements.
- Create an interface for uploading new bots.
- Associate forum accounts to builders so that you don't need to give it as a separate input.
Things I still need to do before it gets released: - Make things presentable (code and appearance).
- Fix serious security issues.
- Fix serious performance issues.
- Catch obvious errors (like an invalid BOT file)
- Detect category that it should go into (I wasn't planning on this but it is much more important now that DSL3 Beta has been released)
Things I want to include after it is released: - Staff controls (like an easy way to delete someone's bot or change one of the fields)
- An easy way for me to delete a bot in the list.
- A search box with refinement/filtering options.
- A 5-star ranking system.
- An easy way for builders to remove their bots or modify them.
- A bot page for posting screenshots and AI bindings.
- A list of component packs necessary for using each bot. Goose left some of this stuff on the server so I might be able to borrow some of his work for this.
- Version controls. The ability to have different versions of the same bot on the same bot page or have the different bot pages link to each other.
- A detection system to prevent duplicate uploads.
- A detection system to identify chassis/bot stealing.
- Batch downloads. An easy way of download bots as a zip.
- Virtual teams. Associating bots as being part of a team.
- Post to Thread button (download link and all the images)
- Use as Profile Pic button (referring to the preview picture)
- List paging that is compatible with list sorting (I had troubles getting both to work at the same time...)
Questions/Comments/Criticisms welcome.

You will need to be more specific if you want to see this thing progress beyond discussion.

Yes, you are limited to 5 bots (regardless of components) for the low-level projects but you can still make an image/video of 8 or more bots after that.
Also, if people are unsure if their entries will be valid, ask yourself if it would be fair to others. For example, I won't accept an image of 8 random chassis that don't have any components. The purpose of having the prize is to encourage participation and further the stated goal; not to see how many loopholes can be found.

Unfortunately, I can't accept your entry for the following reasons: 1. Points are only awarded if you release them on the 18th (+/- 24 hours to account for time zones). I would have made an exception if it was just this but there is more... 2. The project must fall into one of the three project levels. Reskins and textures weren't included because they were too easy and couldn't be fairly regulated by special rules (same reason that wiki edits weren't included). 3. You have to make the thing that you submit. The chassis_structure2.gib was modded by me when I created the VGuide (unless you made some other significant modification in the GIB file, I can't count it as something that you modded).
You can still score points for the unshowcased bots but you need to post it when we get closer to the anniversary. I'm sorry that I can't accept anything else but I'm trying to be fair to everyone (especially, non-modders).
Edit: I appreciate the fact that you want to participate and the fact that you bothered to put all this together but I'm not sure what I can do about it.
