FG-style bots are, I think, the RA2 equivelant of a Glass Cannon. Very very damaging with the flail razors on the underside, but the extender work is normally hideously fragile, and one or two hits could easily take an entire arm off, rendering it useless.

I don't see why he couldn't. It doesn't change the basics of the game in any way, it just prevents the use of Narmour. And it's probably the motor/wheel combination, anyhow. If you try reducing the turn and turnspeed, that could probably stop it.

They do last quite a bit, I've found. Plus all four are stacked into the space of 1 Pink, so I can have the chassis as small and low as possible. =]

That was my biggest worry about DBP4. Was surprisingly close in the KotH, though, I thought it could go either way. But well done to Urjak, good luck in the next round. =)

New LW idea, and a screenshot of it taking apart Tempus Fugit V4. 248.0, 4 Pinks, DSA, probably invertible as well. Weapons actually spin veeeeeeeeery quickly for static RADs, and it's beaten pretty much every LW Starcore V4 could throw at it, except a couple of the quicker rammers.

Series 7, IIRC. Lost in Round 1. Got flipped over and couldn't self-right.

So you're hoping the opponents will go directly under you and commit suicide? Well, if they're fast enough, that should work, but not against a slower machine.

I would let them spin the other way round as NFX said except you want to crawl over your enemys :P
Considering how weak those poly extenders are, I would seriously advise against that. If the 40cm goes, then EVERYTHING goes off with it.

Well, you did say weekend. It's now Tuesday. I'm guessing there's something getting in the way.

...huh. So I lose my place to people who couldn't be bothered to send a pm and had to make 090901 wade through the thread's posts to find their robot? Unless i'm missing something. And iirc RJPK never even posted a link to his bot. Not in this thread anyway. I know it's first come first serve like all other tournaments, and I would probably have gone out in the first round anyway. But still. Thats left me mildly miffed, actually.
I do think that's a bit harsh on you and Fracture, personally. I think, if something like this happens, it should be judged by the time the host receives the bots, rather than when they are sent. madman said the Bot Exchange wasn't working, but he could have easily sent 090901 a PM with the link rather than a post, and RPJK could and should have done the same. I'm not going to blame anyone here, it was just a breakdown of communication, but I don't think it's fair that members should be bumped out of the tournament because others failed to properly inform the host.

Looks like a pretty good selection of bots. =] Predictions time. n00b: Actually doesn't look too bad. Exposed weak motor is a bit of a worry, but I think it'll certainly do alright in the Damage The Trialbot round. TesseracT II: It's very well built, but I forget how many HP the motor on the front has. I think it could be a dark horse. Mr Flibble: Looks damaging enough with a Perm on a BW, though it may end up becoming unstable a bit too easily. Micro Mako: What is this, MMR all over again? Should be damaging, certainly, but unlike an HS, I think will do well in the FttF as well. Puncture III: Yes, it is MMR all over again. Basically Puncture II with more weaponry. Damaging, fast, agile and surprisingly defensive as well,. Even with Plastic 1 armour, I think I'll do well here. Snakehead: Slightly odd extender setup at the back. But I think the weaponry will be alright. Depends what armour it has, maybe. Micro M.A.D. 3: It's just a wall, but it's not a very good one. It's not invertible, the extenders are hideously exposed...I can't see this going far. EENH 4.5: Similar to Puncture III, but with more weapons and slower drive. More a wall than a rammer, I think, but it should do pretty well. Parfumerie 2: Looks deadly at first glance. However, the CF extenders look far too fragile for me, and its wide stance could let it down in the FttF (Think Groundhog in RW Series 2). Cape Stag Beetle: VERY strange wheel attachment. But doesn't look terribly bad, I think. Could see a couple of upsets. Devour: Hammer? If so, it could fare very well with the multitude of rammers, and even the mini FG. I'm still slightly unsure of it, but it could be one to watch. Enturon II: Nice weapon attachment. Very well built, it should do quite well, I think. Plastic Smelter: I'm slightly concerned about the stability for some reason, and if it's properly invertible. But I think it's a good built, and I'm hoping it does well. Jaws Of Defeat Funsize: Another proper rammer instead of a wall. I do like the looks of this, it's definitely one to keep an eye on. Incompetence: Interesting build. It actually looks like it could do well, but I think it'll fall down in the FttF. Not stable enough, I reckon. Dimwitted Background Pony 4: Sledgepuncture. It's a wall, but it's also quite fast. I think this will do very well, personally. So long as its wheels or extenders don't get taken off. Final Four: Jaws Of Defeat Funsize, Snakehead, Incompetence (Lucky draw), Micro Mako

It looks damaging. I'd have the weapons spinning the other way, personally, and I'm slightly worried about the flimsy extender work.

I guess the wildcard is probably full too...
The current rate of tournament entries suggest that people are going to have to prebuild bots months in advance or just send in bots they already have...
...oh. Well, that blows.
There does seem to be a huge influx of newcomers wanting to see how their machines do in combat. Maybe if we had a newcomers-only tournament, that MIGHT help ease the burden. Or if the maximum entries could be raised to 24, that would also help. This isn't really the place to discuss it, though.

Since when did i say i was CERTAIN to be in?I just stuck in a couple o random bots, with a weight i have no clue about?I very well could not enter!
Technically mate, if you build to the weight limit, it's pretty much a typical MW Tournament. And Skit? It certainly sounds like we've got it worked out. We've got the snowman ready, now we just need to kick him over
But not before I eat his nose.
Didn't know you liked carrots- a substitute to tatties, perhaps? :D
I do like them both roasted, though. =] Back on topic, I am confident with my bot. =D It has an excellent mix of OMD.
