Ah, I'm getting my preferred matchup in the next round. It'll be tough, but atleast AoN gets a good chance with tactical (or rapid) play.

Hot damn.
.. I dunno about you guys but it feels so strange and.. alien that we're actually getting a bot exchange. 623
Discussion / Re: Why are DSL Flails Cheap?« on: July 04, 2010, 03:24:58 AM »How is moving overlapping considered realistic, though? I still don't get what's realistic and what isn't.A bot is realistic if it can be built IRL, & therefore I don't see how moving pverlapping is realistic either. Correct, but it's a compromise in the light that all of us aren't exactly 3DS Max legends. We can't just make robot bodies (like a DSL replica's) with the slots all set out and ready. If we were to -really- think about it, every robot in this game is unrealistic - because no actual slots and holes are made for axles, wheels, pistons and whatever else to actually move in. 624

Does anyone here have the actual fightkit? Seems the only people who had it up for download were the now-dead BBC Fightbox page.

I watched a little of it too.
Wanted to take it online but by the time I could, it had already left existence.. 626
Existing Games / Re: Roboforge« on: July 02, 2010, 07:03:09 AM »@Redline That's great! I'll get to downloading it and see how it goes. The problem with people going for 1.34 is that the old Roboforge site is still technically the official one - the Robot Arena 2 one may be active yet dead, but atleast it links people to Gametechmods through the Forum link. Something needs to be done to the old website to bring a link to the new one. I don't know. 627
Existing Games / Re: Roboforge« on: July 01, 2010, 11:26:59 AM »@Redline: sorry but I have to place here a list of stupid questions (to be checked in sequence): OK... 1. You can do that? I'll reinstall. *Wait for results* 2. Not anymore. That EXE doesn't even work. 3. Windowed. It still seems to have some of my previous data (2 failed bot designs) 4. - XP 32-bit - Hmm.. you just mean my CPU then.. I guess it's an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+ - Just a frozen workshop. Nothing special. - There's nothing special in the output. Apparently I was going through the available parts, then it just suddenly ends (When I right click on the workspace) UPDATE: Don't have and can't find this version "1.34-02" you're speaking of. Can only find 1.34 on the Demo page. No visible multi-core option. UPDATE 2: Reinstalled 1.34 anyway, everything has changed - the DLLs for DirectX and OpenGL do not work (Something about the splash being an unrecognized option) , but the EXE does. However the workshop is now off limits. Quote B3dShapeManager.getScene. ERROR LOADING VRML FILE InputStream does not contain a serialized object 628

@Badnik: Yeah, I knew of Roboforge a long while before this thread, and there's a tourney history which I believed included such tournies.

Buddy Lee was practically falling apart. It was superficial damage - Unless a fake plastic grill, ladders and dog plushies meant more to Buddy Lee then just decor, it was only a change in appearance and didn't affect it's fighting capacity. 633

I'm confident about my next matchup. AoN does well against Bane, and That Spike Thing isn't even a flail spinner.
Looking at possible LB round 2 matchups for me.. some tough ones. Resentful Princess would probably be more of a threat while Death of Angles really depends on if AoN is fast enough to dodge the popup spikes on it's way up. |
