I'm kinda iffy about seeing clones in an ai pack. can POD3 beat NWB often?

Other than that I like the the other 5 bots.

First in to say that those pick axes won't help at ALL.

I know but I was just trying to kill some weight. It wont be there this time unless I still have more weight after doing everything else.

New bot called Contravene. Has a protected front that makes the opponents slide up and then get poked at while having no leverage. It's the 1st version of this bot and I thought it's pretty cool so I'd just showcase it here. Some more improvments can be done but I'm too tired to do that right now. It needs to have the plow moved farther back so the weapons can hurt the opponent's chassis better. I still have another 100 kgs left over but with moving some components around, and making the piston longer for a farther reach, I might add some snow plows too, and then that may make it a bit closer to the weight limit. Contravene has great wedges so it's not uncommon to get under bots like Neglected Water Bug :D

I will redo Contravene tomorrow and showcase it.

My favorite bot back in 2001 was Toro. Best bot ever. Are you planning on making a replica of it?

Ok, 64-bot bracket... very good, many bots, more interesting, more competition... but...
This brings one 'LIL' problem :
I didn't have much free time (like many others here), so i submit an average bot, since i didn't have time to build something better in the submition period. Now the new 32 ent. will have more time for building and testing and stuff than US (guys that submit earlyer)... A DISADVANTAGE...

SO?...

Changing and Updating your Entry[/u]

You can change your entry at any time for as long as I haven't AI'd it.  I will wait at least one week after I get your bot to start AI'ing it, so you have one week guaranteed in which you can change your entry.  After that you're gambling.

You can change your entry only one time.

If you AI'd your own bot, you can change your entry one time anytime before the tournament starts.

Updating your entry is different.  You can update your bot as many times as you want, anytime before the tournament starts.  This is for minor tweaks, like wedge position and armor placement.  In order to be counted as an update and not a change, your new bot must be basically the same as your old one, and be able to use the same AI bindings as the old one.

The one exception is if for some reason your bot is unable to fight, I will give you a chance to change it.

Lol I have no idea how to ai a bot. I got the disc version of the game about 3 days ago so I think I'm doing a pretty good job on it so far :D. And yes that's sage's skin, I just copied it on his showcase, about page 20. Hopefully he doesnt mind that I use it because it's awsome :D

So I'm supposed to just let the popups under me? O_o I'll add some belly protection I guess.

EDIT: Some more Battleshots
Rabid Pit Bull
Neglected Waterbug
Little Darling
321 Blastoff

I'll get some screenshots in a second.

It's invertable to a certain extent. It uses the grey tires (lol im sorry I forgot the name to it) but it somtimes touches the ground if the Z-Teks are still Attached to the bot, but even then It's hard to steer. I might have to shear off a few kgs to make it better upsideown (wedges are more of a priority at the moment though). It does best against VS but I suspect that its worst against popups because it has no wedges and bots always get under (321 blastoff is the only popup it's fought so far but it faired pretty well).

How did you win that match?... the screen shot makes it look like your bot is totally fubar.

Congrats with your success. Starcore v3 is an excellent test for sure.

I dont really know :ermm:

Well what happened was that I was a 3 minute fight. We pretty much lost all of our weapons at roughly the same time, I lost my wheels but since he still had 3 of his, it kept pushing me around keeping me from immobilizing. I won by points (somehow :?)

Thanks to Scrap Daddy, he gave me v3 starcore :P So far I havent lost to any of the bots including Neglected Warterbug, Rabid Pit Bull, SHW Locutus (while using a heavyweight), Little Darling, 321 Blastoff, and many many more :D. So far I only have 2 heavyweights in this version of RA2 (and my only bots at all) so thats all I can see for now. I'll post some battleshots later. I'm using the 4 textures that you use sage (hope you dont mind because I like them alot :D)

EDIT: Heres Vela vs Locutus

Think everyone, you had two months in advance, that is plenty of time to build something, test it, and enter it.
I managed to get something in because I used the time wisely, I had built at least four bots in advance (Tempest, Crash.EXE, Flash.EXE, and SurgicalStrike) plus some other bots I built. There was also a reason why so many people had entered just as registration started, they knew that spots to be in would not last long.

And also, who ever suggested that vets get top priority in entrants needs to think. This would allow for better fights, but think of what might happen in an all vet tournament. You might get the same champ many times in a row, the new players would be denied any chance, and soon would defeat the the reason why to host a tournament.

Click said himself that he would need about 13 people to expand the time limit. We have already 11 in about one day.

The only thing I dislike is beat the box. The box should atleast get better batteries and/or stronger weapon motors.

So it's a series of challenges and the bot that performs and the best overall wins? It sounds pretty cool.

You didn't act fast enough. Stop complaining.

I didn't have access to RA2 disc version but I just received it in the mail today.
