Mortis was another favourite of mine during the series- with its lifter and tanto blade (which could strike with the force of a .38 Magnum fired at point-blank range, three times a second at least) weaponry and great staying power, it proved itself to be a strong and resiliant competitor. Even though it only reached the Semis once, it winning the War of Independence in Series 4 definitely proved to be a CMOA for it.
Mortis never had the best luck, did it? I think the main problem was its large ground clearance. It had a vast, gaping chasm underneath that Behemoth, Gravedigger and Steg 2 all exploited. If the gap was smaller, it would have done much better. Having said that, I think the axe/lifter combination did make it one of the most versatile bots in the arena at the time, maybe ever.
It did sort out the problem on Battlebots by having Titanium Skirts installed around the edges, and a lower front plate- presumably added with the extra weight Battlebots allowed. But indeed, with that gaping ground clearance, all it really took to defeat Mortis was a well-armoured Flipper. That's what those three did- turned it over and didn't give it a chance to recover and get the axe into play- that was key in all of those fights. With the lowered clearance though, it also did fairly well in Battlebots, beating Tazbot in the Pay-per-view Tournament, picking up the "Most Aggressive Robot" award, and reaching the last 16 of the last one it fought in, only losing out to Nightmare.

Hmmm... I slightly remember it. But just the teenyest tinyest bit.
Just for reference, it was the one that looked like a giant pair of kitchen tongs on wheels.

This could be a start of somthing great. History may repeat itself! I think you all know what I mean.
Indeed- but as usual, it'll definitely be another case of "The Complainer is Always Wrong". I mean, if I may say so, nobody else on here gets hounded for not liking a particular robot.

@GoldenFox: I still think TAN is a superior. That's your opinion, and that's fine- I just hate the robot myself. TAN was built with the RWs arena in mind, Panic Attack only adapted. Only the pit, really. TAN was not cheap, it simply fallowed what the builder wanted. The idea of a "Horizontal Crusher" was actually quite an interesting one in theory, but it's hardly an interesting design in practise if it just grips hold instead of actually doing anything. And to be frank, I think Disco Inferno is a rather lackluster machine, and Gravity while cool, was horridly impractical. Disc-O-Inferno did actually improve in its later years- it won an Annihilator in RW Extreme, tore Velocirippa apart, and got to the Heat Finals in Series 6, only losing out to Bigger Brother. So yes, I think, had it not been pitted, it could have done quite well. Gravity however, impractical as it may be, was still a far more interesting robot than TAN, in the fact that it could actually do something to its opponents, in this case tossing opponents around like toys.

Anyone looking for someone to face them? I feel like playing RA2 again. Football Manager's taken up basically my whole life for the last 2 months.
Perhaps- whilst I wait for Av to fix his computer, maybe another Home Nations-esque battle between the two of us might be in order? :P

1) Tough as Nails/Cheap as Chips
You don't like it because of its tactics. Grab and pit. Why don't you hate Panic Attack jointly?
Sure Panic Attack did use those tactics several times as well, but it did at least use other methods of defeating opponents as well, particularly when the pit wasn't available- look at its fights with Toe Cutter, X-Terminator and Sawpoint for instance. They proved that even without the pit on its side, it was an effective fighter, since it could utilise other tactics. Cheap as Chips on the other hand, only has its one strategy- grab and pit. Could have had Gravity or Disc-O-Inferno in the World Championship or Heats instead- far more exciting robots. But no. Instead, you have a cheap oversized pair of tongs that can't win without a pit.

Ehh,S_M wont bend the rules for even a person who could make the best replica ever, let alone YOU!
Lay off him, will you? If he's got legitimate reasons for wanting to suggest an extension, let him say, and then S_M can decide.

It's alright, I was only joking

I apologise for making the error in the first place. But as Avalanche was always going to be at a significant disadvantage from that error I had no choice but to re film it.
Another happy customer?

I imagine you rather like a naked Arnold Schwarzenegger
He actually "Likes" rather a lot of things- namely Dawn, Furries, Tentacles, Arnold Schwarznegger, Fotep, and Vacuum Cleaners

Or is it because it was Chaos 2 (which is understandable)?
Admittedly, yes. It was definitely one my worst moments with RW, seeing one of my all-time favourites in that state.
That's it though. You watch it and get favourites, and then hate seeing them lose.
Just like me and SoW :D
Not necessarily- all its other losses were not so costly. I mean, think about its fight with Bigger Brother. Sure Bigger Brother flipped it over and ended its run as Champion, which even though it made me sad, but it had to happen at some point, and was mainly down to skill rather than sheer brute force.
Well you became sad, which shows you have more emotions for it than most others. But you do expect everyone to fall once or twice, yet are surprised when tehy are beaten by bots who havent got as far or aren't as good.
Indeed- I was saying that I was cool with it losing, but just not with 13 Black, Razer and Mr Psycho all ganging together to destroy it.
What about the annihilator then?
That too- although it did kind of bring it on itself, there. Had it left Killerhurtz flipped or survived until Suicidal Tendencies died, I think it would've been in with a chance.

Least favourite robot? Banshee, by a country mile.
Good comedy value though, particularly when Shunt beheaded it

...And that it was a bad way for Chaos 2 to end its career?
Indeed. At least all the other champions ended their careers in one piece.

Ahahhaha,I laughed my *expletive* off in both matches when one killed each other. Then i laughed a load more when Pins And Needles corpse cost Days Of War by pinning it against the wall.Well, that was a complete DOMINATION by my team.Funny thing is,before,i was cost the match because pins and needles was flipped OVER.But in the rematch i never had Pins And Needles flipped oover. Yes,i now am gonna have to put them on a leash.
Congrats indeed, Av. There's a catch, though- You're now ready to face me
