those wheel guards are slick, does it need collision wheels if they are protected though?

I appreciate all the advise I can get! and with it I've created a much better drum spinner. Even if it is basically a Minotaur clone

decided to go back to simplicity with the drum
It isn't 100% protected but it does have Alu 10 armour

Any comments?

So I made a kind of generic drum spinner.
10 plastic armour, can't self right and the drum doesn't seem to hit that well or do as much damage as I though. It gets stuck a lot and runs out of battery towards the end of most fights... apart from that it's great

Any thoughts on how to address any of these issues would be great!

So I beefed Art of Seduction up a but to be a HW for GTM CS2 by:
adding more batteries
changing the wheels the backlash wheels
Increasing the armour to Plastic 10

after submitting it and feeling proud of myself I realised I could add a tail to stop it 'jumping' so much

It's still woefully underweight even with the tail but whats done is done

this might be slightly better than my attempt at an axebot for GTM CS2 ,and by slightly I mean a lot...

does it have any issues with 'jumping'?

I like the use of Storm hinges, they are very under used.

That's a pretty neat way of stopping the wheels from being on the outside of the robot, I may have to experiment with this...
Wouldn't recommend it. It makes turning painfully slow. I've managed to get it so the wheels are fitted conventionally now and it's much more manoeuvrable.

now you mention it, I did try this once and I had the wheel so close together the robot wouldn't turn.
Plus you can always cover them with exteneders etc

My first tournament entry, let's see how this goes

Good stuff!

I realise we are slightly off-topic in this thread so in an attempt to bring it back on track - are people excited for the World Series coming up on Sunday? Can't wait to see Diotoir again.

Yes I am and I completely forgot about this!
NYE and robot wars in one night, what a time to be alive eh?

you can double or even quadruple the size of the default skin template when you start a skin to make it higher-resolution.

I think I doubled it to make it easier to see then changed it back as I wasn't sure what it would do if I left it, I'll take this on board for next time

I would also use a better font. I use this ting https://cooltext.com/

Thanks for the link, I'll check this out at some point too.

theres a lot of people that would kill to be on the show, even if it means getting obliterated off the bat :P
Wyrm and Overdozer is the prime example

Good point, I forgot about the teams who enter for fun

Just read through the last 15 pages of your showcase. You're very talented at this.

I agree, you showcase because your bots are awesome man and we love seeing them

So I made this thing really quickly just as a mess around. I had no idea 2 short burst motors with a polycarb sheet would be enough to lift the car a few feet off the ground.

I'm not looking for an feedback on this one, but it is welcome, I just wanted to show it because this is where my comprehension of how the game works is starting to come to together. A light bulb moment if you will!

gotta be honest this looks pretty interesting. may download if i get a chance
Just to know... You gotta take things slow... Too fast and it crashes

Is that the cars or the game  :dumb)
Haha both😂

Sorry I can't resist the opportunity for a terrible joke!

I'd love to play this but I've only got an Acer Aspire laptop so I'll wait to get a more powerful one a some stage...

Are there any vids (on YouTube etc) for this game? I'd love to see it in action!

I know this might be an irrelevant point as I'm no roboteer, but I think with some of the spinners out there at the moment I really wouldn't want to spend a lot of time and money on something that could easily end up in several bin bags

I've another bot show you all, this time it's an axe bot with Alu 3 armour and all the sheets are steel.

It's my first attempt at making a CW, I'm reasonably pleased with it apart from a few issues

I call it 'Art of Seduction'

admittedly this one is in dire need of a skin but I'll get to that...

it's insides

this is the problem with it (sorry for terrible quality) I'm gunna go ahead and assume this stops it from being IRl. I've tried fiddling around but can't find a solution to the problem, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Once I've solved the issues I'll BFE the burst motor and do a skin but I'm too frustrated at the moment!
