MikeNCR deserves it too. He's been a member of GTM's since '04.
Crappy logic. By that line of thinking I should be veteran too for being an official forum member or something. Perhaps there should be a voting process.

I remember when I played AQ, once you got to about lvl 50 the monsters would have about 1000 to 10000 health when you could only do about 20 damage each turn.
You might be doing something wrong. I'm not exactly level 50 (And I stopped playing regardless) but I believe my cousins are, and they make short work of monsters. Maybe because they have Guardian feature moves, but anyway.

Not at all, only touched VII for 10 minutes. I just looked beyond Pandemonium Warden.

http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Absolute_VirtueAbsolute Virtue. Apparently it has been in FFXI for 7 years, and no group has ever legitimately defeated it. People have used a exploit to beat it ("Wall of Justice") but they were permanently banned and the exploit was fixed. It isn't as long as Pandemonium Warden (As AV has a 2 hour time limit) but come on: Absolute Virtue is an Aern High Notorious Monster in Final Fantasy XI, and is the hardest enemy in the game, and bar-none the hardest boss in all of the Final Fantasy series, as it has never once been legitimately beaten in its current form by anyone in the world. In 2008, the development team released an "educational" video with hints on how to defeat Absolute Virtue. This primarily involved the use of 2-Hour abilities in tandem with Absolute Virtue's use, somehow locking them. The video (along with the vast, sweeping majority of content put out by the developers) is horrendously vague, involving simply showing different parts of what seem like multiple attempts at the monsters by developer characters immune to its attacks, often zooming in at the dialogue box as if to show players something important. This has often been made fun of by the endgame community for its ridiculousness and complete lack of aid to the players (e.g. "Clearly we are not zooming in on the text hard enough, otherwise we would have beaten it by now.") After the weakening patch that was moreover a response to the news reports filed against the marathon kill attempts of comparable foe Pandemonium Warden , Absolute Virtue now only has some 70,000 HP, far less than other Notorious Monsters in the game, and significantly less than the strongest enemies in other Final Fantasy titles (Yiazmat comes immediately to mind). What makes Absolute Virtue so "impossible," though, is its unique way to stack multiple 2-Hour abilities (essentially Final Fantasy XI's Job System's strongest, most devastating techniques available to players... One such ability, Benediction, the White Mage 2-Hour, is especially frustrating, as it will heal Absolute Virtue's HP to full instantaneously at any point in the conflict, as well as remove its negative status effects. It can do this multiple times. The above has caused many people to quit on the spot - allegedly atleast 5 people immediately quit when after 30 hours of "marathon" fighting, AV used Benediction to recover 46613/70000 HP. (I guess that was from before there was a 2 hour time limit or something, or maybe they were trying over and over) Consequently, during brief spans of time, Absolute Virtue became susceptible to various means of killing via crude exploitation of terrain and the popular "Dark Knight Zerg" strategy (right after the weakening patch) used on many other monsters in the game. The first wave of kills by illegitimate means took place via use of a terrain exploit, coined the "Wall of Justice", wherein players positioned themselves behind a wall that had unique programming enabling them to attack Absolute Virtue but preventing the opposite. For completely unexplained reasons, game masters decided that users of this exploit were to be permanently banned from play, and the wall was quickly re-coded without mention in update notes. Regardless, because of these brief windows of opportunity, some of Absolute Virtue's dropped treasure items do exist in-game and make their rounds in the Real-Money-Trade community, often selling for tens of millions of Gil, or on illegal auction websites sometimes for more than $1,000. Today, the playerbase has essentially given up entirely on trying to beat the monster...

Match 56:Lava2 vs Big Flip's Revenge Fight 1:BFR wins by KO Fight 2:BFR wins by OOTA
Haha, OOTA? I seem to recall a bot suffering a similar fate in BBEANS5.. was that my only round win against AC? Whatever, nice to know it can fight still

Hah.. I really need to release more bots. And not always be in the last matches of the brackets. First time I saw this thread, don't fret it Badnik. You're just too quick for us.

Damnit, why can't it view the very last page?
OK, that looks alright. Needs better armor really though. With that size chassis and empty space you should have no problems.

M'kay.
Anyone else looking forward to the racing game mode?
An fantastic creation, but I'm wondering... how deep could it possibly be? Can the AI navigate corners, or are we restricted to the drag strip for (ingame) tournaments? A robot doesn't have the human factor a car does either.. meaning while we have to control the robot, there's nothing stopping us from just holding the forward key from start to end. No gears, probably no need to adjust direction... just straight running. How could a slower robot prevail, and prevent the event being a rush to cram the fastest motors and wheels possible into a weight class? Weapons wouldn't exactly be easy to use. Unless it was a cannon.

(The whole multiple bracket thing still catches me out. Seems I really am out of it now though)
Only just saw my Semi-Final 1 match with JD... glad to know MCGD can win, after only technically scoring from that bye. (F YEAH DESTRUCTION DERBY MUSIC) And now also my match with R0B0... was unlucky to lose overall after being the one to push Schizoid off.

What I can see:
- Hmm, the thing's a mess. - The clubs won't do much as the spikes of them are the damaging point, so basically you just made some air-powered nudge. People around here only really go for frontal weapons too. It's not a bad practice, just saying. - A single flipper BSG would probably only work in the lightweight class or lower - every other class is too heavy to be budged. You have too much weight on it too for it to be effective too. (Flippers really should be as light on the flipping arm as possible) - Too many batteries there, far too many. I'd probably give it just 5 ants myself, going off the layout and making it efficient (probably dropping it down into the LW class) . That'll allow you to really reduce the chassis size.
I might make my own take on this.

Maybe you should of thought ahead with awards... There'sno bots crappy enough to be considered SFTW. I haven't been watching the tourney, how can a captain contribute in AI robot battles?
How can we tell separate builders apart? (Didn't see the breakdown)
My advice for video recorders: Growler Guncam. No or negligible slowdown. Used for FPS recording, but ofcourse it can be used for other things.
