Also, how is gravity is qualitatively different from mysticism? Yes this is a serious question. Your dogma might immediately reject this because gravity is "so science" today, but when Newton first announce this many scientist attack it as mysticism because it is just some attractive force that exists. Yes we can put equations on it, we know how strong it is, but even now nobody has a clue why gravity, or mass, exist. Nor can we alter/manipulate it in any way. The LHC has yet to find the Higgs Bozon. So it's just some force, that's just how it is, and you just have to live with it.
I know this is Frezal's debate and all but this paragraph bugs me. Mysticism's definition is: 1.a.Immediate consciousness of the transcendent or ultimate reality or God.b.The experience of such communion as described by mystics.2.A belief in the existence of realities beyond perceptual or intellectual apprehension that are central to being and directly accessible by subjective experience.3. Vague, groundless speculation.Definition number 1 and 2 seem inapplicable when dealing with gravity, so that leaves definition 3. Gravity is not vague or groundless. There are some aspects of it that are speculation, but that hardly makes gravity mystical. Gravity is the attraction between two bodies with mass. Its strength can be quantified using equations. It exhibits traits that can be observed and measured. The only speculation we have about gravity is why it is there at all. Also, from what I can tell the LHC hasn't looked for the existence of the Higgs Bozon yet do to a technical fault. So the fact that gravity's origins remain unexplained does not make it mystical.

Throws HWs that for sure. Just looking for a tourney to enter it in!
Not be critical, but that flipper would be torn apart by a good spinner due to the lack of any front protection. I think the design could use some fine tuning.

I am curious Hydro as to why you support a philosophy (communism) that has so far failed to give any good results when implemented (or at least tried). Anyways, apparently Christianity and Communism go quite well together: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism#Christian_communism.

Atheism combined with some anti-theism.

I think that If you stuck a US flipper in a UK arena it could still pretty much do what a regular UK flipper could, only with a more eccentric trajectory.
This.

How well does it flip? Because some things flip different. 120cm skirts are good, 80cm skirts are great, and 120cm angled skirts are pretty bad.
It does the job, I can say that. It is not as strong as Second Sentinel though.

Hello Everybody! King Mushroom inspired me to upgrade Lousy Launcher, so here it is: Lousy Launcher V3 has the same internals as V2, but was downgraded to Steel 3 (yeah I know, still a lot). In return I attached hinged wedges as well as two heavy plows to help trap bots and prevent flanking. It packs some flipping power and nice wedges (gets under Hope No More 4). And yes, I am aware the Firestorm flippers are uneven. Deal with it. :P Any comments would be appreciated. :D

Okay, but there are plenty of other funny/unfunny pictures that aren't ponies that are posted in the RA2 section. Should those be banned to? Or is it just when the pictures become too popular? I just think outright banning an entire class of picture from being posted is not entirely fair, as other pictures of similar funniness level can still be posted without a subsequent warning.

And Nitrogen is certainly against the UK rules now, along with any other gas that isn't Air or Co2
That just proves flippers are better in the US, where they aren't restricted as to what gas they can use. :P

I like the use of DSL Disc as underside protection.
Yeah Pwnator, you are quite the innovator. :P *cough*

If there aren't spinners in the UK then they don't have true robot combat, plain and simple.

Is it that everyone has forgotten about this or nobody cares? Either way I would appreciate someone answering this question.

Relationships are one big fat waste of time. When you get into a relationship your gf/bf/whatever usually either endlessly desires your attention and gets angry when you don't or doesn't really care about you and just wants to be able to say they are "dating" someone. At a young age people don't seem to be able to appreciated any sort of love below superficial infatuation (a trait that may also carry on into adulthood).
Relationships are also emotionally taxing. Anything emotional that happens to your "partner" also gets dumped onto you. Also, your partner may want to take the relationship further than you want, or may not want to commit as you would desire. This can lead to emotional strife and sometimes breakups. Breakups can also be emotionally devastating, often until the person afflicted starts dating again, in which case the cycle repeats.
Now maybe this is just me, but I don't really enjoy close relations with anyone. Not friends, parents, or anyone. Thus I would not appreciate what a relationship has to offer in terms of both sexual gratification and emotional scaffolding.
Just my two cents.

And with that this debate can be closed.

Alright. I'll go build a bot that has no wheels which flies around the arena (thanks to AI) that drops down on the top of other robots (this no wheeled robot has a rack of FS on the bottom) for an easy KO. The robots are fighting each other, right? I'm just using AI for advantageous movement.
Once again this has to do with the spirit of robot fighting. Generally we don't want AI's to do for a robot what it can't do with the components attached to it (flying thanks to Trinity glitch would thus be acceptable). In terms of 1-wheel bots, the components can easily do what the AI makes it do, it just requires the proper control pattern a human is likely incapable of doing.

By that argument you can make AI codes where lightning attacks all opponents and kills them instantly. It IS AI, you are right. Could a human controlled bot do it? Not without custom components. But hey, it's not a human tournament, it's an AI tournament! SO obviously anything that gives bots advantages is fair game.
But you see we don't outlaw the use of lightening because a human driver can't create it. We outlaw it because it defeats the purpose of RA2. In RA2 robots are supposed to fight. That is a principle of the game. That is why dealing damage to your opponent via an AI is disallowed. We use AI's to drive our bots and allow for robot fighting to take place. Human control is another method of getting robots to fight each other. Both are valid ways, but AI doesn't have to be restrained to only allowing what human drivers can do.

Because they WOULD be human controlled if RA2 wasn't so damn laggy.
Irrelevant. They ARE AI tournaments. If we ever get human control tournaments then the rules can be set as fit. But right now our tournaments use AI.

controlled movement test,
You mean a manual controlled movement test. They can function just fine, and seeing how these are AI tournaments and all I don't see why human control should even get involved.
