Hahahahah! <3  That thing is so cool.

You get HUGE props for making that happen with a diagonal chassis off the grid.  I have such a hard time making bots with diag-chassis'

Amazing work!

I didn't think it could be done... but you did it.

Does the bottom half of the body spin?

Indeed it does.  :D  Powered simply by a Perm 80.  Damage factor is o.k.  I went with light DSL teeth so that I could spend more weight making the legs look better.

That's a bit hard with how those disks are made, iirc they don't have textures per se, more colours coded in to the gmf itself.
If it is possible to change that then I have no idea how.
I was going to try the dsl disc but they aren't big enough.

Hmmm... good point. I didn't notice that. There seem to be a ton of GMF files in dsl. I might have to learn how to skin them when I try to make DSL bars blue for Metagross. I will let you know if i learn anything good.

No idea.  I thought about making lotad too :D  I would recommend simply skinning the disk to have a chunk cut out.  i.e. Section skinned in just black or something.

Personally, I'm having a hard time making a decent SHW.  Logo be damned.

It also takes a bit of brain power to figure out which arenas are worth choosing... I think that might require too much effort from some.

Oh I see where you guys are mixed up... sorry about that.  I break the rule of seven when I put a DSL disc on the drum for the 4 attachment points for teeth... From there I would put 4 lightning spikes on the disc... but then the rule of 7 is surpassed.  Sorry for the confusion.   I could put one spike on the bottom of the drum now, but that would look ghetto.

For spikyfeet, how about ME -> Extender -> DSL Bar-> Flippermaker -> Drum -> Drum -> Spikyfeet?

There is where the problem lies... I need an angle right off the bat so I can't start with a multiextender.  Also, the first angle has to coincide with the bend in leg to achieve a 90 degree total so that the feet are flush with the ground.  I thought the combo would be easy... but only came up with two components that could give me a 45/45 combo to pull it off and look good.  Thanks for the suggestion :D

And by skinning, I meant skinning the components.

oh! thanks. forgot about that. It's also something I can do later and send to craiig before the tourney.  I hope those DSL bars are easy to skin.  ;D

XD  Thanks for the compliments.  I hadn't thought about the possibilities of making it a walker.  But, I soooooo wanted spikes on the feet, but the rule of 7 kept me at bay. I spent nearly 2 hours just trying to figure a configuration just for spikeyfeet.  No luck.

I am done with this one.  The chassis is a PITA to skin because I didnt keep the points straight up. so it spirals upward instead.  I can't line things up very well with it set up like that.

Besides, I gotta start building a bot for Home & Away now.  :D

I am inclined to jump on the bandwagon here... Kurt's bot is really not in the spirit of this competition really.  Weapon spam, exposed controlboard, even the exposed drive motors kinda irk me... Sorry Kurt, it just doesn't look like you really shot for making a realistic themed bot there.  :(

This is such an awesome tourney, I'm surprised that people are not jumping in to compete.

I wonder if some are just having problems wiring up the hover engines? or maybe they just dont want to download custom components? hmmm.

They have normals, and jack, a DSL bar is even worse damage potential-wise than vlad spikes. Which are pretty decent for normaled weapons anyway.

And beater bars aren't even very damaging, we just do use them for the HP, the extender potential and the good fracture.

:FFFUUU Sorry to give bad advice... I still have much to learn.

I much prefer the good fracture aspect of Beater Bars though <3 <3 <3  Call me crazy.

I could be wrong, but I think the spikes you are using have normal damage attributes.

If you want some damage potential, but a DSL bar on there and then attach beater bars on each end.  Beater Bars have nice damage potential, and if they get damaged and taken off... the DSL bar will still do damage as well.
