Ok so I decided to make topbot in ra2 for some reason

the part where the disc should be it's bigger than the tires zone part, while in the original one was more narrow. you should adjust that.

Resetti did this one before, but it was a LONG time ago.

strange, i can't find it here on the thread. maybe he didn't posted it?

this one it's another interesting design that hasn't been done here.
maybe i'm wrong but it seems that dutch robot wars bots aren't really noticed here.

Speaking of OBJ, I'm really enjoying this after just learning it and should hopefully be able to pump out a lot of decent replicas. And actually skin them at some point. Maybe I can make the shapes and internals and Cinghial make the skins, deadly replica combo ;)

Edit: Splinter is done now.

very nice replica!
it's really strange that OBJ2RA2 doesn't work with me, even if i followed all the procedure.

Back with another unskinned replica.

Made a version of Mega Morg that has the length of the first one, shape of the last and a flipper that combines both. Might get round to skinning it at some point but because of the amount of sides the dome has it will take a while to line it all up.

(Image removed from quote.)

may i ask how do you do the horizontal cylinder shape?

Damn dude, you're showing some PROMISE!
You remind me of myself when I first came to this forum: Building replicas left and right.
well thanks! :)
what can i say, at first when i discovered this game i made some pretty crappy stuff, but i got hooked to it pretty fast, i even made a personal bot, but for now i have more interest for replicas.
there are some pretty interesting bots to replicate , even simple ones which don't have been done yet. for example Shapeshifter (the 1st version)
seems pretty simple, but probably less interesting than his 2nd version counterpart

and guess what? HO HO HO!
it seems that there's another one which hasn't been done yet on this site!

and done! i replaced the previous mace which was made from an extender and some spikes with a proper mace ball, loses a bit in terms of replica lookaliking and power, but earns in terms of resistance. i know that in DSL there's a more proper mace, but it was less powerful
at the end i decided to leave spikes+extenders combo, less resistant but more powerful, and more lookalike, i prefered it more.

Can't you just post the pictures themselves? Rather than post links? It's more convenient that way.

Also, good Rot Box.

ah, ok. yeah, it should be more convenient.
also, thanks for the compliment, but it's still not finished, first it lacks those scales, second the texturing could be done better.

and here it is, Rot Box!

sincerely, the realistic texture doesn't fit in my opinion. should i go for an MSPaint Style just like the previous ones?

It will be nice if you had reference pictures for obscure bots. Good recreates.

yeah i know. sadly you can't import those in RA2. so you have to improvise or move from game to image browser.
that's why i got Crazy Coupe 88 wrong, i didn't checked image references often.
also here's the original bots
https://robotwars.fandom.com/wiki/Flirty_Skirty
https://robotwars.fandom.com/wiki/Spectre

next one i was going to do was Shapeshifter, but after seeing a lot of interesting bots in this category i'm kind of undecided
https://robotwars.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Robots_which_lost_their_only_battle

this one could be interesting

prepare for trouble, and make it double!

Also, just to add, you can access it by cheatbot2 if you don't know Cinghial. cheatbot2 will give you a lot of hidden components, and can be accessed by typing cheatbot2 (it's case sensitive) in your bot's name
that's interesting, i tried to check and there are some pretty interesting components, but for now i'll try to do avoid to use cheat parts.
I would try and use a flatmotor for the weapons instead of the piglets, they are flatter so shoudln't be as noticable and they have more power but they aren't overpowered
is flatmotor part of cheat components? because i can't find any component called flatmotor in normal DSL

also, does anyone knows where i can find Darkrat components pack? i need a component from that pack for the next replica (a scoop for Shapeshifter) and it doesn't seem available in the downloads. or does it have another name?

Yay, someone used my tutorial! :3
Also nice looking replica!

it was Resetti Replicas to suggest it to me, and yeah, it was very useful! ;). also at first i was going to test it with Shapeshifter, but i wasn't sure to do it, so i decided to make Crazy Coupe 88 which seemed more simple.
turned out it was more complex!

anyway (if we exclude the trapezoids piece texturing problem).

feel free to suggest what i can change.

started texturing Crazy Coupe 88, also i made the trapezoids parts.
but there's a problem.
it seems that since the original piece had a square texturing, now the texture acts strange.

there's a way to solve that?

Crazy Coup 88 can still use some work, but Mastiff looks great!

that's true.
first i need to make those rectangular plates as trapezes.
second, proper diamond metal skin.

started making Crazy Coupe 88.
for now i'm still using rectangular armor plates (also BFE for motor placing as you can see) and there's still proper texturing to do.

also, almost finished Mastiff, i still need to make some tweaks and it should be finished
