So sad, I was rooting for enigma! Either way the epic flip made up for it in that particular round. Vector is a tough competitor.

edit: may not be posting vids next week due to finals at my school.

General Support / Re: How to remove AI bots and teams?
« on: September 13, 2010, 06:22:59 PM »
Recompile? Why not just open the Bindings.py file with Notepad ++, delete the unnecessary team entries and save? Remember that you also need to delete the corresponding teams that are in your AI folder (If you delete Team 0 in bindings, delete the Team 0 folder in the AI folder).

Most likely it is RA2 calling to see what teams it needs to load. You may not want to have it so that there are extra bot files without bindings for the game to call, this could be your problem. More helpful though, which game are you trying to edit? Starcore? DSL?

I was having a hard time putting razors on so I just went with the pole spikes for now

Try rotating the razors till they are no longer red when they snap onto the position (hold shift I think to rotate when they "snap into place before you place them in"). This is the fundamentals to what we call "stacking".

And the one and only reason I chose (choose?) a circular shaped chassis was for the paint job, The original design for this guy was a cross shape but its not like im going to enter this guy in any contests so the circular shape is a lot more aesthetically pleasing...
Trust me on this, you will soon start loving the squareish chassis.

That and it will end up just being a lot of unnecessary work, code management, payments on the hosting, keeping the forum active, yadda yadda yadda. ACAMS and his staff are possibly one of the most influential forum staff around to keep such an old game interesting.

Not bad there, oh and before you get too far into your design, you may want to avoid circular chassis from here on out to whenever you make any future robots.

The reason being is that they:

-Give wasted space and extra weight.
-Makes it harder to place more components into.
-Can make your measurements inaccurate, increasing your chances of making a unbalanced bot.

Also change your weapon setup. Avoid using pole spikes or any weapon that has normals (IMO).When you do that, you'll see that your bot will be much more destructive. I agree that you could replace them with razors, and irons if they fit.

Hmmm perhaps. I think it would be nice though if it was done from my server, I don't trust youtube at times!

For those who are skilled at posting videos that stream very well *cough* click *cough* I was wondering as to how you go about compressing your files so that they load quickly in the tournament?

I don't want people waiting an hour to view one video :P

Thanks, Gig.

Ahh the good ol' days where my competitors were the Stockies, nice vid, nice design and skin so far.

Have you ever got starcore working? Also, I think you can do without those wheels, see if all grannies or if shinnies work for it.

Here's a reference as well to some basic building techniques if you don't know already.

Welcome to the Forums! Also don't be surprised if you get a nickname some time down the road. It's just our way of welcoming you into the pack (or if your name's too laborous to type) :P.

Try changing your resolution in the game. But before that, do you have the DSL patch installed? If not then install it and see whether or not it fixes the issue.

75
Found the issue. I will resend notifications. By next week everyone should have them.

Notifications sent to the following people so far (this list will grow):

-Somebody
-Groudon

@click - Thanks click that would help, whenever you have the time it is greatly appreciated.

@freeziez - exactly correct, and that is what I'm currently trying to fix. That means that he is receiving email verifications. For some reason it wont send, I'm working on it but I think I know the problem, should be fixed HOPEFULLY tonight.

77
@Freeziez and SKBT - got your emails.

i havent recived anything, is it just that you haven't gotten around to it or is there a glitch in the system

Strange, I sent notifications earlier. Coding issue perhaps. Oh well, let me backtrack/diagnose for a bit. I'll get back with you guys tomorrow.

I'm surprised no one is discussing that much in this thread. C'mon people, share your thoughts!

As usual expect two exciting matchups to be posted this week:

- Darkblade 2.5 vs Agitator JR
- Vector BLING vs Enigma X

The next matchups (including these) can only get more and more interesting, so I'm pumped to see how everyone's bots will do.

For those who are still waiting, I'm currently sending out email notification verifications (try saying that 10x fast) to those who wanted to sign up for notifications. I was preoccupied that time due to my stuck-up teacher demanding assignments done and turned in by 11:59 yesterday, she has no heart...

That aside as said before you can expect some awesome matches from this point forward - As the ELBITERS get ever so close to nabbing the golden ticket. Who will win to become the first ELBITE Tournament 1 Champion?

79
Got em, you guys should get the email concerning your bot stats tomorrow.

80
J24 - sure.

Edit: Groudon and Badnik, I have your emails, you can now edit your post to omit them as somebody did.
