Off-Topic Discussion / Re: So I DJ and make music...

You should get a SoundCloud so I can follow it!
I have one but there's nothing on there I don't think. There's a few ducks I need to get in a row. I'm in between being super motivated and going to do something and going "meh I don't feel like it, i'll do it later" lol. Which is why (though you guys wouldn't know unless you looked at the posted date of them) some of my DJ sets on my youtube are uploaded weeks later instead of no later than a week later. lol

just edit ra2.cfg to your widescreen resolution and it works fine

ie
FullScreen=1
FSDisplayWidth=1600
FSDisplayHeight=900
FS3DDisplayWidth=1600
FS3DDisplayHeight=900
I remember trying that before but had some problems with it. But I think I was having problems in general with that install of the game that i'm not having now so i'll give it another shot. Thanks.

Dunno how frowned upon this is here, took a quick look and it doesn't look like anyone gets a lynching for it so I suppose here goes.

I've been making music for a few years now, actually been on a sort of unplanned unwanted hiatus for two and a half years though. Nothing genre specific up to this point, mostly nothing worth hearing to be honest. If you wanna check it out take a look at my www.soundclick.com/tygron page, but don't be too hyped for anything there lol. About the only thing I think is fine would be Anger Management, By The Tail is an ok one and i'm pretty proud of Purity Comes and Goes despite the repetitive drum track in there that I regret now.

However i'm trying to get into producing Hardstyle, so we'll see how that goes.

Right now i'm more proud of my DJing, which isn't anything spectacular but it's not horrible either. I've been DJing on a livestream since December 2014 almost every Friday for a couple hours, and I record that and upload that to youtube which can be found right here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGWhFBQNgrOuaJ_YzdbaUmw
It's pretty much all Hardstyle, and i'm not perfect lol. Plenty of mess ups here and there in a few of the videos, some glaring mistakes that I feel i'm gonna notice more than other people.

So yea, check it out and tell me what ya think. Don't be afraid to post any constructive criticism, there isn't a "what I want to hear" as far as critique goes. What I want to hear is what you thought was bad, what was good, what maybe you would have changed here or there. Don't just tell me "hey that was good" to make me feel better, but don't tell me "hey you're bad and you should never do that again" either.
I'm going to soon be fixing up that old freewebs site that i've had to keep all my stuff in one place. So hope to get on that at some point soon.

Haha, well here's hoping it's at least upgraded garbage :D

Being able to puncture armor to get to the internals and accurately damage them would be a nice touch.

I'm also hoping for better driving physics. Having just played a little bit earlier I forgot just how bad everything jittered and bounced as you moved. The physics also seem a little slow and floatey. Like. Speed the current game up 2 to 2.5 times faster and slow the speeds of the motors by that much and it might at the very least look a whole lot better in the realism. Actually is there any way to do that with that new (well... it sorta came out a few years after last playing RA2 for me) console thing that could speed up the physics or the overall game? New components could be made and then just increase the round timer, and there could be something interesting there. The only problems I can really see would be the immobilization timer. Dunno if anyone's tried it, could be interesting. I know there's a way to turn off gravity, made some bots at one point that messed with that when I got my step brothers into the game.

Yea that's what I saw in the thread. The logo looks weird. Most of it looks fine, but that text looks straight from 1996 or earlier. Supposedly TDS sorta knows something about it? At least from what I gathered in the thread. By the sound of it from him, it seemed like we're getting something super half assed. But the small other blurbs (which of course they're going to be spun that way) make it seem it'll at least be more worth it than RA2? I dunno. It's just a wait and see game at this point I suppose really.

Just downloaded Ironforge and DSL 2.1. Man. It's been a while. I remember when DSL 1 was in the works :3

Do plan on it, just re-installed the game and trying to learn how to make a bot again. Did anyone figure out a fix for widescreen resolutions for weird perspective issues in the bot lab or is it just better to run in windowed mode? That's also probably left to another thread so i'll keep the off topic to a minimum.

At least that should be fixed in RA3, right? :P

Welcome! Are you a veteran of old forums?
Eh. If your definition of veteran around here is "member of one of the older places like the original forums or AceUplink" then yes ^_^; though I had been banned at one point for being too young (unbanned because I had parental permission to be on the site and that was part of the under 13 requirements) and then banned later for another reason I don't think I ever got told. Stayed on AU until it disappeared, never got the full story about that but that's ok.

I've poked my head in here a couple times but never joined because the last time I poked my head in on the old forums I was instantly met with hate, even from the new guys. I think I know why more or less, but either way it didn't really make me wanna come back.

Well this is a welcome thing to find. Came back here after running into a site Dracophile (RFS) runs or whatever (there was a pic that interested me) and the forum link brought me back here. Read in a thread in off topic about this, and now i'm here. Awesome.

Excited about this, and the new stuff I missed in the years i've been gone.

Woah woah woah. Ok. I'm sorta back as well I suppose. Honestly got back here after looking at a post that I saw on Facebook about Battlebots that took me to some site that used an image that I thought I recognized the style and the source of (turns out I was right) and then after looking on his site I found a link to back here.

So what's this about RA3? I mean no offense to who made the image but, it makes me think it was quickly whipped up and it's fake. Did they forget to pay for the domain and someone quickly snatched it up and made a thing for it or is this for real for real?

EDIT: So after doing a quick search. It turns out the site is one Dracophile (RFS) either runs or is a big part of. Nice use of that Narse image by the way.
