We won't be losing anything by force. This isn't a legal thing, this is one guy making a total arse out of himself for a stupid reason.

TF3? This is Valve y'know... 3 doesn't actually exist in the lands owned by GabeN.
Backpack for proof I play TF2 far too much (over 900hrs now). https://tf2b.com/tf2/76561198076925466 67

I hope I can get it to run AA in the final release, but it's not likely to work due to the game engine being ancient, and if it does I don't think it'll work on anything that isn't an Nvidia GPU. It doesn't actually make that much difference, at 1080p the resolution of the pixels is so high that edges look pretty smooth already.

1080p yes, that's done by editing some of the config files. Anti aliasing possibly, but at the moment it's done through the Nvidia control panel so it's not in game.
Resetti, anti aliasing is a technique games use to smooth jagged edges that occur because everything is made up of pixels. Anti aliasing sees an alignment of pixels and predicts what should fill the gaps, leaving a smoother more natural looking edge. RA2 doesn't have any, but it looks way nicer with it even if it is only SMAA 2x. FXAA works but it's too damn blurry. I tried it with TXAA but it tanked the framerate to 10fps. 71

To keep you lot happy for a while here's two screenshots taken at 1920x1080p with the most anti aliasing I could force the game to work with. The image quality is lower because image compression.

That's not going to happen. If something horrible were to happen... I'm not entirely sure what that means anyway but if a legal issue prevents it's release (which is the only thing I can think of) then obviously not.

Please stop asking about it. It's being worked on and it'll be done when it's done. If we have updates that aren't just invisible techy things then we'll post them. If not, we're still working but the results aren't quite as spectacular and shiny as you seem to expect constantly.

Huh, doesn't work on my Xbone controller. Possibly just me not having something set up right. I stand corrected :)

While that's true, RA2 doesn't have the facilities to use analog controls. The speed of the motor is either full speed, or no speed; on or off. Like driving a real robot with a bang bang drive setup

The AI is done as far as it can be for now, ie every completed replica going in the game is done. Until more stuff comes along, I'm looking at improving the games performance in a few ways:
RESOLUTION I've forced the game to display in 1920x1080p with no stretching; at the moment it works fine but it's not changeable in the main menu. I'll try to fix that when I next get a chance (probably tomorrow) ANTI-ALIASING There's no question that this game has horrible jagged edges, whether or not it bothers you is a matter of opinion but personally I don't like it. It can run with (very weak) AA but it has to be changed on the user end in the graphics card settings. I'm looking at ways to get the game to support inbuilt AA but it's not looking promising (old games ftw) FRAMERATE Now this has stumped me. Either RA2s framerate is locked at 30 or its simply not properly optimised as it never seems to raise above 30fps. Does anyone know how to unlock the framerate to say, 144? Any help appreciated :) 79
