I can't say I'm back for good ... I still have a lot of things going on in my life right now, but I did miss playing the game and hanging out here with all you guys. (Check out the wiki page for updates.) For now, I'll drop by when I can, though ....
Micro Vulcan ..... that name doesn't sound familiar. (Then again, I haven't been around in a long time, why should it?)

Well, it's nice to see that this thread is back from the dead again. There are some really good ideas being posted here, and I for one would like to see this trend continue. (The circuit board arena sounds interesting .....)

Depends on what you plan on doing. There is a VERY good design for a flipper called the "rupt" flipper design, which takes into account a glitch in the original programming for the game. (Jimxorb created the first one, if I remember right - it's been a while since I've played.) When set up properly, a MW rupt flipper can throw an HW bot.
However, as System32 pointed out, there are no flip-out arenas in the stock version of Robot Arena, so a "pure" flipper wouldn't be much good. Additional weaponry, perhaps pop-up or hardmounted weapons, would be needed to make the bot battle-worthy.

Aw nuts... SpyGuy shows up... and doesn't answer my Gran Turismo related question. *disappointed* :P Well, I probably would have, if I had Gran Turismo .... Since y'all are on music lyrics, does anyone know what is being said in the beginning of "Fire On High" by Styx, during the creeepy intro part? (Yes, I DO know, but thought it might be fun to see who else does.)

Norton 360's been pretty decent, but I miss AVG. May have to go back to it.
Only good thing about McAffe was that it created a physical "map" of where your virus came from. Not just what country, but the actual, physical location of it, including the street address and city! I got hit with a virus once, and doing a tracker, I discovered the physical real-world address was a place in San Jose, California.

Good work on figuring that out, Joe. Knowing Mad, he'll put that to use somehow with one of his arena ideas.

Oh, those kind of questionable lyrics ... Try "Get Freaky" by Play-n-Skillz.
I was thinking "questionable" as in "misheard".....

He could also be talking about a demolition derby car ....
And of course Acams would know about drum brakes. He even knows about foot brakes, like the ones on Fred Flintstone's Rockmobile ....

Okay, this is not just a joke, it's true, too!
Recently, y'all have heard about the government bailouts that the banks and car manufacturers have been getting. Well, dig this: a representative from the adult film industry has asked for a five billion dollar bailout. Because of these tough economic times, people are very depressed, and their love lives are suffering. No one wants to make love, and are too busy worrying about where their next paycheck is coming from, how to pay their bills, etc. By using the bailout money, the industry could help restore some romance into their lives. When asked why, the representative said, "Well, since everyone else has their hand out, we figured we might as well see about getting a piece of the pie, too."
To date, there has been no response from the government .....
