Oh dear. It seems that our countdown is broken... Hmm Best head over to https://www.facebook.com/RWRA2 and like the page, so you get the latest news of release, straight into your newsfeed. If anything happens... It will probably be coming from there.

I have to say lads, it's been a brilliant journey getting to know the gametechmods community again after a decade and finally delivering something for you all to have and enjoy. To think Wham started this back in 2013, having no idea what it would turn into when everything was passed down to me in 2014 to join my work at the time. We joined the Official Robot Wars brand, that changed a lot for us, in quite a few ways it meant we couldn't do what we wanted to do... But in another it opened things up a hell of a lot more, getting roboteers from across the globe contributing. 2015 was a slow start but with new methods learned and new techniques developed, we managed to bring more to the mod than previously. Now we're almost there and despite a few niggles here and there and wishing we had more time before the deadline... (That's right, the release date was planned for quite a while haha) but we've made it to the end of what is only the beginning. Don't forget we are releasing expansions and updates for this over time so head over to Facebook and like our page, all the future releases will be coming from there! And be sure to spread the word. All the best, Adam

Why are all the textures super dinged up?
REALISM
Realismception. Scratches within scratches lasts a lifetime. Robots are rarely spotless unless they're on TV anyway, if it's used properly anyway!

Don't be an idiot.
What's all the backlash for? :/
Because you have a talent for relentlessly being a nob because you feel brave sitting behind your computer screen?

And we've had our real robots to work on as well, I was rushing around getting my feather ready for Barnsley and now while working on the mod, I'm developing new merchandise.

I can confirm that Terrorhurtz will not be in the mod. It and Razer are both team Robochallenge, a river buisness that, if they were to be included would mean that you all would have to pay for their inclusion. It is a shame because we were hoping to include both versions of THZ.
But, Thor, Bonk! And _____ are far more powerful, they're the ones to watch for! And that's not mentioning the other axes and hammers in the game, ready to raise a bit of hell!

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned that the multiplayer sever engine is now deceased.

Long post warning...
Lads and lasses, non of the robots were rejected. It was very tight between those who qualified for the voting table and who didn't, let me explain.
To qualify, those so far successful entries have ticked all these boxes:
[] weapon system originality. [] technically plausible in their own weight Catagory. [] visual impression. [] robot effectiveness. [] technicality.
The 9 of us have went through each individual robot, (which has taken up a lot of our free time might I add) and discussed whether the robot has ticked each criteria.
Many hours later we ended up with the robots you see above. Over the next few days we'll be ignoring voting for which of those finalist are our favourites and give a vote. Which is kept confidential from eachother. And we get the results in when everyone has voted.
Each person has voted 1 FW and 1 HW, we will be giving 1 FW vote and 2 HW votes each. We're once again expecting it to be tight and hard to determine a winner, judging from the qualifying process!
And lastly we don't want to show all entries incase we hold another competition in the future. There have been quite inspiring designs and we don't want people taking each others ideas for future reference. We want to see the creators of those designs improve on what they have and come back.
I have to say I'm really surprised and greatful for all the entries. I never expected to see so many creative designs and for it to be so hard to decide on the qualifiers. I think I speak for all of us here, that were damn impressed and we'd love to see more in the future. Don't give up on it because you've either not qualified or not won, because every single person has known that they have a knack for this sorts thing. Don't give it up, make your ideas a reality!
Throughout this post I think it's decided... This has to happen again some time!

Well 3 of us working on the mod have tried adding the flames, electricity, working flippers and loose objects and it hasn't worked at all.
Don't know where to go from here. It feels as though you've left some information unexplained.

I've been slowly replacing what commentary there is. Can't really add any to the battles... Unless you want it to repeat constantly. (and trust me the robot wars live theme on repeat is bad enough)
Commentary does get damn annoying in my opinion. 10 minutes of hearing Jonathan repeat the word carnage and you want to put your foot in your own ears.

It's a joke about how everyone was saying the replicas looked like photographs.
Don't worry, I got the joke, cheers haha. We're going to try and put a little something together to tide you all over while we're finalising stuff before release.

pyramid of quotes
I tried to be extremely specific about how Razer looks putting all those adjectives before 'crusher' to try to distinguish every other crusher from razer while still trying to describe the drawing of chomp (a bot that I've never heard of and therefor can only go off of the beautiful drawing rendered in 1080p that was there)
Essentially, I was trying to say "How many other bots look like that drawing?"
Saying "The bot in the drawing (Chomp) looks like that bot in the drawing" doesn't help you at all. I guess instead of wedge-y I should've said 'cone-shaped', because while all or most of those robots have a wedge, very barely any of them are cone-shaped in the way that razer is.
Cone shape? You mean a 3 sided wedge? like the one Tiberius, Little Nipper, ect have? Let's get a weeee bit serious for a second... I'm only adding to the list because you're not giving a legit valid reason for saying whatever it was looks like Razer. If you said that to the owner who built it, you'd get smacked in the face. People don't like being told that the robot they've spent months of hard work into designing, looks like a mild rip off from another robot. Some people take it good humour, others have tried very hard in the design phase to avoid such comments and take events. If you're literally only basing your original statement off the drawing then you've phrased said post better. And no-one is bashing, not that I'm aware of, I cannot speak for anyone else but I couldn't care less, just don't want you getting smacked at an event or getting verbal abuse for not phrasing your statements better.

It's a crusher therefore it must be Razer. Robot Wars fan logic
I was being serious. How many wedge-y gray angular sharp beak-like bird looking crushers can you name, friend?
Razzler Tiberius 2 Tiberius 3 Kronos Philliper Metalis TX-108 Ming 3 Pincer
TX109/Apex Little Nipper Boneyard Venom Cobalt Mantis Nyx (with crusher attatchment) Kraken Plunderbird 4 Plunderbird 5 Tiberius 4 Chomp Spartacus Preda Raptor Bite Force And that's what I know of... There's plenty plenty more not yet named. Saying all vertical crushers are Razer is like saying all rear hinged flippers are chaos 2, all vertical spinners are nightmare, all horizontal crushers are Kan Opener, All horizontal discs are Hypnodisc, are Full Body Spinners are Blendo, all drum robots are El Diablo, All robots with 6 wheels are Sewer Snake or Storm 2, all rammers are Tornado, all lifters are Panic Attack. Just.... No. Just because the most popular crusher you can think of from TV existed and has a weapon large enough to stand out from the rest of the body just to get over it's opponent doesn't mean it's Razer, it means it uses the same style weapon. That's it.

Well, I can safely say that bar two very simple replicas that are going to be done very soon... All the robots and AI is complete. Surprises are still on the way too as well as many other things that you're probably not expecting. But either way, the team is working very hard and soon you'll be able to witness first hand, all the effort ect that's went into it.
