Off-Topic Discussion / TGA editor

PhotoFiltre? If I understood you right all the possible programs which can save .tga format can be used as targa editors.

Edit: Oh FFS why all the good programs turn to trial versions these days? Only 6.xV are free but there's already 8.x version out there but you have to pay at it.

I think that too. Maybe some good rules there at first and then start the competition.

Yep. You click very near under the slider's end but you aren't meant to click the slider itself.

You have to move the bar up again and then click under the sliding area again so it would work again. Don't click too low under the slider but don't click either too high near the slider because then your bot will be again as low as the slider let's you get.

It does work as often as you want to you just have to re-move the slider if you didn't manage at the first time.

Yes it was nice idea and it is still. You just need to find a group which would make it real.

Oh yeah you are that one guy. Sorry your signature and new avatar confused me and I didn't remember you right away.

But still even we would build up only vehicles which would have guns and stuff on them, it would take some time because even the next upcoming 2.1 patch has been coming for a while. I think this could be done but you would have to find this mod's makers from somewhere else.

Umm....

RA2 isn't equal to Halo.

How the HECK you could make the Havok engine even handle halo models? And the Havok engine isn't for sure build for anything which is related with FPS genre.

If you want to turn RA2 to Halo go ahead, try. I think you won't succeed on that one.

RA2 is meant to be bots fighting each other not some sort of halo guys on vechicles to fight against each other.

General Support / Bug. Sort of.

=) Nope it isn't. It's brand new Flatout bot which is LW bot and it doesn't look like that anymore. It is quite good even I'm not very good at making LW bots.

I think I could FINALLY post some upgrade pics to my bot showcase topic because I have made few bots but just haven't wanted to post them there.

Well there's also that I haven't made any good bots in ages so I would have something good to show to others. I don't want to post cheap and crap bots which will get destroyed in no-time.

I noticed this happening on many arenas. Sometimes my robot's corner sinked through the arena's floor but my whole bot never did that. I think this is somehow related to those wedges sinking through the floor as well.

That bot is as low as possible and also the bottom of the bot is as big as possible. Top is... Maybe 3 squares big to each direction. That didn't happen all the time but sometimes when I were flipped and then rolled around on my side until I were standing on one of my corners and it fell through.

Bit The Ultimate Spike Beetle one of those wheel supports and it is gone.

But looks nice. Very original design. =) I would like to see a video or two how it shoots those bots to eternity.  :D

Nice bot and original I like the combination of wedge and shell spinner. That's looking nice.  :D

This goes off-topic now, but will the 2.1 patch give more hitpoints for the axle mounts so they could be used better in combat, because now they fall off just too easily and also what is going to be included in the 2.1 patch?

Nice bots indeed. I have few bots too and I should post them here but I just haven't.

Also I have ran out of GOOD ideas ages ago. But seems you haven't and those look nice.  :D  And original.

General Support / Viewing FPS on Robot Arena 2
« on: February 10, 2007, 05:59:15 AM »
Gotta test that with fraps and see does they give me same results. =)

Edit: It didn't work. I tested it in DSL-TC 2.0 with 1.2 patch for the RA2 and I didn't get any kind of window by pressing F9. Neither without fraps.

Discussion / nvidia series 6 and up compatible
« on: February 09, 2007, 12:23:57 PM »
I run RA2 DSL-TC 2.0 at full settings and I get 43 fps in garage while I build bot but the fps crashes down if I add half titanium sheet there. I haven't played the mod much since half year but I did yesterday. Just tested few bot ideas and they sucked quite much because they weren't so creative and good.

Anyway, I got under 20 fps on the arena while I was fighting. And I have Nvidia's GeForce 2 MX 440 graphic card now or so. So that isn't good at all. Because my Ati Radeon 9800 Pro AIW broke down and IF I get summer job I will at last get some money and I can buy new graphic card. Maybe new computer too because I have to get my driver's license too and that eats up almost all my money on the bank account.

Oh yeah. And even I have Nvidia's card, this card is so damn old that it won't create any weird errors and stuffs like that and I haven't applied the Nvidia's patch from official ra2's site nor from the dsl's site.

There's already the test flip dummy. But that kind of things would help things a bit.

Ummmmm............. yeah...........
I think what Weedy's trying to ask is: Is the arena on a rolling loop?  If you drive for a while, does the loop eventually come back around to where you started from, like a bunch of other games do?  Might not be exactly what he's asking, but that's what I got from it .....

Yep, you got the point. I was asking that and I think it is made somehow like that or something because infinity would jam the computer quite quickly.

How did you make the arena infinite? Does the game engine loop the arena somehow when you get outside a borderline and when you are driving forward the game engine just adds one loop to the count and when you turn back it removes one loop at a time when you have driven pass it and you finally get back to the arena when the loop count goes to zero?

Wow. Long sentence.  :D
