Why doesn't Tweedy use Inventor or something that isn't Sketchup?
Because sketchup does everything I need, I do plan on learning inventor at some point but until then sketchup ticks all the boxes of the basic design stuff I do.

I reckon you could do it for less than that even. Maybe £50 tops, for motors/battery/speed controllers?
I was including radio and a pair of snap hubs/wheels

I don't do beetles

And why the hell not? Also come to Portsmouth or Burgess Hill so you can see all our beautiful (vinyl bot) faces.
No money
You could get a beetle together for about £80 if you've already got a charger and basic hand tools, granted it won't be newton but at least you'd have something to drive.

when I've finished mine we could have a match
Count me in if it happens at an event I can get to.
i highly doubt that will happen, since we live at different ends of the country :(
Well, me and Twoody live in the south east, so if you live at the west or whatever, there might always be an event at a venue in the centre of a country we could all go to
In that case, want to have a match at one of the south east events next year? I'm fine with beetles and ants, would prefer beetles for obvious reasons but I could put an ant together for it.

Redesign happened to accommodate true 4wd, I'm hoping this will make it a contender in fights. Can't thank Haz enough for help designing and machining it.
Got any perspective views of it?
Nope, not atm.

Meanwhile:

now with wheel guards, brushless motor and weapon size.

True. As long as there's enough torque in the motor to keep the belt moving over the locked hub. Are you SOL if you lose the belt though?
On the weapon yes, on the drive side no I'll just be down to 1 driven wheel and 1 free wheel

Are you worried about the thinner ends of your wheel guards getting bent over into the wheels? I don't know the thicknesses and stuff but it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to lock up your front wheels that way.
it's 5mm alu and 10mm hdpe so I doubt they'd get bent far back enough to lock up the wheels, even if that does happen, because of the belt drive I'd still have some sort of movement albeit slow movement.

Looks nice, belt drive?
yeah, on the wheels and weapon

bruh you need to shrink your pictures
I may not have noticed the size of the picture before uploading it, I shall do in the future.
Another beetle. Snappy lives in fear.

Craig got it.

Tommy, I'm not doing Vlad, it's a representative of Combots, different buisness.

I've give you's a clue. So far the two American roboteers who have said yes both make very nasty spinners. So expect a lot of gyro... And whacking yourselves out of the arena. :P  And no, Touro Maximus is Brazilian. ;)

YugTom, you know me, I always do my best to traumatise people :D in a good way.... Ish!

Kurt, as far as I know it won't cost anything. But Jonno or the other lads working with me might want to get a little income from it to fund us making the stand alone game.

EDIT: MikeNCR just messaged me, another American robot is in... Is going to be Flaming brilliant.
Last Rites, Electric boogaloo, maybe megabyte? And for the flamer, the great pumpkin?

Terminus arrived today, ordered some snap hubs and wheels because I ****ed up and ordered plain bore wheels, after that it's just a case of wiring it up.

Have you finished Terminus yet?

Nearly, it just needs wheel guards then it's coming to me for a wire-up and some paint.

Bluewater was a really good event, Minor Tom worked extremely well doing decently in most fights and the lifter was actually useful which amazed me. I will be putting a better motor into the actuator soon which should make the lifter faster and it might fix the self righting problem, if not I'll have to figure something out since self righting is the only issue with minor tom at the moment other than the concave lid.
Now bluewater is over Minor Tom will be getting some tlc before the next event, definitely a new lid mounting solution and maybe a completely new hardox version of the current shell.

I saw on Minor Tom's that the owner needed to be contacted, what do you need?

Now, I love Minor Tom. I've only see one video of it in real life. Does it do well?
Going on the fights from this weekend it does quite well considering its lack of srimech.

Played in an online tourney today, we wrecked the first game then got put up against the team that went on to win the tourney. To say we got wrecked is an understatement.

Being put up against full diamond teams in ranked 5's isn't fun, 2 or 3 diamonds we can deal with but diamond 1 yasuo and diamond 3 vayne hurts.
