If you did that, it wouldn't be RA2, now would it? It would require a different engine, making it more like RA3, though I'm sure no one would mind the difference much.

Any .txt, placed in the components folder, with this text:
name = Tool Steel Hammer Head dir = ballast type = extras base = Component model = ballast1.gmf preview = ballast_preview.bmp description = Anything under 800kg will quake if you use one of these in the construction of your bot. hitpoints = 1500 attachsound = sounds\cmp_generic.wav standard = 0 mass = -20000 sort = -999 This will give you a ballast, I hope, that will be exactly -20000 kg. It should be in your extras component section. To use: Put this on while constructing, take it off when you want to test or use. [The folder and model names may be off, consult your components folder] 64

A useful tutorial for doing such: http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/modding.htm Aye, and if thou hast DSL thou mayst ignore thy instructions for CFZ decompiling, by Jove! 65

Due to limitations in the game, no claws, crushers, or other slow and powerful weapons work; they act like a very, very weak and slow burst motor, which is what the game thinks it is. Speed is intimately tied to power in the havok engine, which is why spinners are so much more powerful than a hammer-bot, for example.
As for the noise, you are free to replace it with one you like better, just find the name of the noise in the razer motor .txt and change it to something you like more. [Stupid comment]I didn't know noise could fuse corn... ALTERNATE ENERGY: FUSION FOR THE MASSES![/Stuprid comment] 66
General Support / sorry to be a noob but.....« on: February 05, 2007, 07:19:43 AM »
You don't really need that link, you can just take the .bot files from the AI team folders (renaming them so they don't override each other) and import those. If you want a working archive of the bots, you might want to fix them up (getting rid of the smartzones) and re-export them, getting rid of the ones you took from the AI team folders. Be sure to leave all the AI bot files in their folders as they were, meaning copy, not cut.

DSL TC Showcases / Burnbotics bots« on: January 23, 2007, 11:53:13 AM »
A question: Do you have trouble turning with that vert? I have serious trouble with mine, though I think it has something to do with the motors I use for the spinner...
Hey Click, does centrifugal/gyroscopic force work on lateral motion in RA2? From my experience it does, but that might be because of my drive. 68

Nice quad-post, burnbotics.
To the actual showcaser: Pretty good, how long have you been building? I would suggest adding some armor on the sides if you have the room for some mounts on the inside. If not, you could leapfrog it on the outside, at the risk of all of it falling off when the parent is hit. Also, unless you want to make a more mobile spinner, try getting rid of the extra pair of drive motors and beefing up your spinner. Mabye get rid of some batteries too, a single orange should suffice for that particular config. 69

Do you have WinRAR? Also, why did you post this in "Forum Feedback"? This sounds more like a computer problem than even a DSL problem...

Would you like me to upload the .rar I got and installed? I'll get it uploaded and we'll see which side of the download is at fault... It'll take a while.

General Support / I can't save bots!« on: December 08, 2006, 07:15:51 AM »
You might want to try forcing it to recognize the bot by testing it in the lab, but if you already tried that, then I don't know what you can do.

I'm guessing that either one half is a custom part or you have a really small bridge where the VS is.

But I think that there should be some REALLY powerful servomotors that could actually lift a heavyweight robot! But maybe it will spin too fast, so it would be hard to control... They've already done that, the Crusher servo and drive motors. Quote from: DragonNinja ComponentsI second the SB soundchip, but the sword would look strange. You like Homsar? 80
