Well Explosion's through

62
Maybe if this gets big, we'll see spinners back in the UK - wouldn't that be lovely! <3
NO!

:(
Spinners cause more upset for the roboteers but for the audience? Well, I know I'd rather see a spinner/flipper match than a flipper/rammer match.
Oh I don't deny it's better for the audience, it's not better for us roboteer's though.

Plus the fact that if robots got destroyed every event, we wouldn't have enough robots for the ten to twelve events we have every year.

Breaker Box doesn't exist!!!
You lot are so slow, I knew of this weeks back :P
How? the press release was on the 2nd...
Someone mentioned it on the FRA a while back

NO!

At least in the UK, the competitors go home with something that vaguely resembles a robot, rather than a bin bag full of scrap. Thus they can return for more battles without having to spend a lot of time and money putting their robot back together.
Wait till after this weekend, lol

Single, so you need two of them

If you want a dual motor speed controller, you can get the Sabretooth of technobots which seem to be more commonly used in the UK

You'd be better off asking on RW101

Got me to second place

Would 4wd be a bit overkill?
Absolutely not, and the sabretooth can easily handle it.

...so it's not made from balsa wood? :P
And yep, that's me. Pretty sure i'm screwed, but should be fun none the less. I'm trying to find some metal I can screw to the front or something for Ls4 so I can make it to the 3rd match!
You might want to adopt my tactic from last year:

Ohhh, that's yours?

Great to see you getting involved

And Ripoff is being built by Team Toon (Tiny Toon), out of the original Rip shell from Robot Wars, hence the name :P

74
so many spinners in my fights, im screwed!
at least omen could do well
Yeah, just noticed, your draw is pretty awful .

Not 100% pleased with what I've got, but I'll give it a go (been drawn up against the 1st & 3rd seed)

Biggest event of the year, here we go again.

Microgravity
Velociflippa :P
I'd advise against both of these.

Is that a Diotoir-style flipper? Interesting design, you don't see too many of those.
Actually you do, that's one of the 5kg Battle Ratz kits.

Whitwick's this weekend, nice close one =)

We'll be going of course, for the 7th year running  :ermm:

Just be aware that your robot is likely to be completely destroyed. Battle rats were not made to fight feathers.
thats a good point,if you are going to enter it into the featherweights it won't be able to flip much and i would make your own armour for it as the regular armour is only made to withstand being flipped by other battle rats but i would really advise against putting it in with the feathers
I'd actually say that it won't be able to flip anything. They can barely flip themselves, never mind something almost three times heavier.
