Plus the fact that if robots got destroyed every event, we wouldn't have enough robots for the ten to twelve events we have every year. 63

You lot are so slow, I knew of this weeks back :P
Maybe if this gets big, we'll see spinners back in the UK - wouldn't that be lovely! <3NO! At least in the UK, the competitors go home with something that vaguely resembles a robot, rather than a bin bag full of scrap. Thus they can return for more battles without having to spend a lot of time and money putting their robot back together.Wait till after this weekend, lol 65

Single, so you need two of them
If you want a dual motor speed controller, you can get the Sabretooth of technobots which seem to be more commonly used in the UK You'd be better off asking on RW101 66

Right, I for one am going to disagree with both of you :P
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6V-300RPM-Torque-Gear-Box-Motor-New-/220767144125?pt=UK_BOI_Industrial_Automation_Control_ET&hash=item3366bf48bd I've tried these motors, and, they're "alright", but don't have as much torque as the not-so-cheapo versions. These are probably alright for a spinner, but for something that really needs the torque, especially pushers, I wouldn't reccommend them. I would advise the following: 2x http://www.robotbits.co.uk/motors-gearboxes/50-1-high-power-micro-motor-gearbox/prod_10.html 2x http://www.robotbits.co.uk/motors-gearboxes/micro-motor-bracket/prod_11.html 2x http://www.robotbits.co.uk/wheels-casters/32x7-mm-wheel-white/prod_13.html http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/lipo_hyperion.html (I'd probably go for 240mAh 2 Cell) http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-CELECTRA.html (Easy and effective, exactly what we use) http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-SABER2X5-RC.html http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=11965 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spektrum-Controller-Blade-Helis-MLP4DSM-EFLH1064-/370516976012?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item564488618c#ht_2026wt_1139 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9682 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9683 http://www.directplasticsonline.co.uk/HDPESheet/Black/2mm/ 73

Ohhh, that's yours?
Great to see you getting involved And Ripoff is being built by Team Toon (Tiny Toon), out of the original Rip shell from Robot Wars, hence the name :P 74

Not 100% pleased with what I've got, but I'll give it a go (been drawn up against the 1st & 3rd seed) 75

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Wedgebot:At japan« on: March 09, 2012, 01:31:52 PM »Parts List: And about RC cars. I don't know about other roboteers, but I get seriously fed up with so called "roboteers" who have taped a toothpick to a RC car clogging up pit space and generally being a pain in the neck, when anybody can build a basic antweight. So please don't go down this route :P 77
Real Robotics Discussion / Re: I Need A Name« on: March 08, 2012, 03:13:15 PM »Microgravity Velociflippa :PI'd advise against both of these. Is that a Diotoir-style flipper? Interesting design, you don't see too many of those.Actually you do, that's one of the 5kg Battle Ratz kits. 78

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Battlerat Panels« on: February 29, 2012, 04:00:21 PM »I'd actually say that it won't be able to flip anything. They can barely flip themselves, never mind something almost three times heavier.Just be aware that your robot is likely to be completely destroyed. Battle rats were not made to fight feathers.thats a good point,if you are going to enter it into the featherweights it won't be able to flip much and i would make your own armour for it as the regular armour is only made to withstand being flipped by other battle rats but i would really advise against putting it in with the feathers 80
