Chatterbox / BISCUITS. Now that I have your attention...« on: June 20, 2013, 02:26:36 PM »
I feel I should explain the reasons behind my sudden and extended leave of absence from GTM.
To start with, I was getting pretty close to a building wall. That is to say, I was running quite low on ideas, and I really wasn't sure where I could take my bot building next. I'd achieved a reasonable amount of success, and I'd like to think moved building along slightly. Nothing like guys like Click or Sage have, but perhaps I contributed a little to bot building in general. Tournaments, I think, were either starting to dry up around that time as well, or they weren't particularly intriguing in general, perhaps building overall was doing the same, so there wasn't the same incentive for me to build. A number of other things were taking up my time as well, which included but were not limited to college, family matters, and my now ex-girlfriend. In short, I basically just ran out of motivation and time to stick around, so I disappeared. I understand that it was quite sudden, and I left quite a lot of work behind with my Tournament Mod position. I'll completely understand if I'm stripped of that, but I will hopefully be sticking around here again, but perhaps not quite so much as I used to. Besides, I can't find that picture, but one does not simply leave GTM. =) 64

I can't remember how long I've been gone for, but I've obviously missed a few key things. Has ACAMS not handed control of GTM over to Trovaner or something like that? 65

Welcome back, R0B0. I really like the look of Warship and Tarpit Carnivore, but I think the extender work could be tidied up on Hellion a little. Also, why the caster behind the plow on Warship? Is it supposed to protect the weapon extenders should the plow get taken off?

hey guys is this still how you dsl
![]() First thing I noticed about DSL3 was the Extenders and Lexan panels, so I wanted to see if I could make Halitosis properly. The answer, it turns out, is no. So this was the result, 2WD, Plastic 3 (I think), couple of Ant Batteries. I noticed a bunch of my other bots - like Puncture III - are suddenly redundant, so if I'm doing it wrong, please let me know. =D 68

Yes, but R0B0 posted a funny little LW, and I thought I could do better. Damn my competitiveness. ![]() > Redbird drive > 1 Nifty + 1 SnapperII > DSA Armour + Invertible + Is pretty good at getting underneath other double HS with its weaponry. Like Tempus Fugit. - Slightly too havoky for my liking I'm starting to question my super-compact building style. But hey ho, on we go. I've entered a couple of tournaments that are going, but I think I have some explaining to do as to my absence. 71

Tested it in DSL 2.1, and I can't get it to work. I thought the pictures looked a bit shopped as well. I'll wait until a video is posted, but I'm denouncing it as a hoax for now.

Guitar, mostly. I reckon I could get away with using it as a bass with the FX board my dad got me last christmas. I could also play the drums if necessary, and perhaps sing at a stretch. I don't consider myself brilliant at any of them, though.

Also Bottas will be driving in Williams on next year... If Räikkönen & Kovalainen would drive in Lotus, and Bottas in Williams, IT WOULD BE THE MOST EPIC MOMENT IN FINNISH F1 HISTORY! Two out of three for you so far, Jonzu. http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2012/11/14133.html I reckon if Maldonado can be more consistent, I reckon he could be alright. I'm still looking at him as a money driver, though, I'm afraid, despite the win in Spain. Too few good finishes, and too many incidents for my liking. 78
DSL TC Showcases / Re: Scrap Daddy Incredible Design: DSL Edition« on: November 29, 2012, 10:57:31 AM »
Both of these look excellent. The only thing that bugs me is the wheels sticking out on the LW. Looks pretty good apart from that.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: SKBT's showcase« on: November 27, 2012, 07:08:07 PM »Are you using a skirt hinge as a burst motor? You could just modify the component's weight. My skirt hinge burst is 25kg, and about midway between the Judge Burst and JX in terms of power. The "ram" extenders are sometimes added just for aesthetic purposes, a bit like the motor supports on a Last Rites-style spinner. 80

Looks very nice indeed. RAD spinners like that reminds me of Xenophobia a little from BroBots. It's original, but I think it's got a few too many downsides, the weak armour, the slow weaponry, the low battery life. Nice build, though.
