I've been trying to work this out, but what would the ice pick do exactly? I've been meaning to do a rebuild but I'm just wondering about the ice-pick.

You've followed 40757s advice, which is good, but I'm still wondering if the Razors are going to hit anything, or if theres enough.

I actually think it looks pretty good, but I'd still call it unrealistic; you'd need a big gap in the front of the bot to accomodate that spikes. And I don't quite know why you bothered building holes for the wheels. A bit more trial and error is required there I think.

Double post, yay!
I'm thinking of entering Scythe 5 into the Doomed bots tornament. Any more improvements I could make? 70

Yes Viper, you do have a point about meeting new people over the internet on Facebook and forums etc, but apart from the people you hook up with or specicfically ask to meet, are you actualy going to see any of those people in real life? And also my point is many people spend a lot of their time on facebook and forums talking to people. But like I said, how many of these people are they actually going to go outside and meet?

Off-Topic Discussion / Becoming a Technophobe« on: July 21, 2009, 04:03:57 PM »Quote from: Viper89;53513 Who are u the Smiliey Police lol Yes actually =P Seriously though, I think HX_ has a point about technology, at least being partially responsible, for some if not most people choosing to spend more time inside than they do out. And as a result, they get to see people less, have less chance of meeting new people etc. And when I say technology, I mean the internet, computers, computer games, TV, radio, etc. Not medicine or nuclear bombs. And yes, it is a fact that America blew up part of Japan with one, not that they won the whole of WW2 with one. And whats with all the lols? Do you actually laugh out loud when you type them? I'm not trying to pick a grudge with you though. Its good to know you're active outside (please don't brag though, I hate braggers) and that you're not going all on the offensive with me. You just give me the impression that you don't try and see things from other peoples points of view, thats all. 73

And I get your point Urjack, I find it easy to get annoyed at that too. I think they should be taught by the community that it is possible to be good at building with custom components, rather than it being a bad thing full stop, which is what the majority of people seem to be doing. I agree that they should be taught they aren't necissarily good 'just because' thay use custom parts though.

Viper, I think you need to stop assuming that your opinion is fact. I also think you need to stop using so many smileys and start typing on here with proper grammer.

Custom Components Showcase / ACAMS Custom bots« on: July 21, 2009, 03:37:24 PM »
What is written below, in italics, was origionally typed up in Botsmashers custom bots thread. Only now it has been closed. This was kind of written in Botsmashers defence. You don't have to go through it all. I've highlighted the important bits.
Y'know what, I've got an idea. Why don't we take custom bots more seriously? At least more seriously than just flaming the crap out of them. I mean, people who made custom components probably made them for a reason, for fun if nothing else, but not to get flamed. I agree that its not the way for newbies to join the community; to think that they can build good bots instantly by using custom components. BUT, is it really any worse than putting a DSL bot in a stock showcase? If that happens, the showcase is moved. And if they mix stock and DSL? They get told to stop, because its unbalanced and won't be allowed in tornaments. And normally we just tell newbs who use custom components to stop using them. Now I'm not sure if Botsmasher here actually grasps the idea that if he wants to build serious bots he should use only stock or DSL parts, or if he would just rather use custom parts. And if thats the case, I don't really see why we shouldn't support it. The very idea of this thread seems to be for everyone to post their own custom bots. And apart from BS, Redline seems to be the only one who's actually done that. And now that someone, I'm assuming ACAMS, has gone to the trouble of making a whole new section of the forums for Custom bots. So why not start using it? All Botsmasher needs is to be taught how to make a decent bot full stop, nevermind wether or not it uses custom parts. I hope what I just typed up isn't a complete load of BS, but I hope you kind of get my point. 76

Thanks 40757. The tribars now spin outwards, and the bot is much easier to control.
Here's proof... ![]() Also, I discovered while testing that the bot is invertable. Which is good. 77

Do you even have room for other stuff? Such as wheels? Cos you need to test the weapon to see what damage it can do.
