This isn't about what happened between me and R0B0SH4RK, I regret wishing The Rake on him, especially now that he's self-aware of its existence. It's merely a warning, I couldn't fathom the possibility of The Rake claiming another after so many years...

I remember back in grade 6 or 7 for me, I read a story about a black cat in Ireland (the Black Cat of Killakee, I think it was) that was similar in nature to what you told. I tell you, I could not sleep for almost a whole year because it terrified me so much for some strange reason.
I see. It just read like you wanted it to kill me or something. I was just like D: <--that.
If you really are being literally tormented by the thought of this thing, I hope you get through it. I really do.
Oh, and I found the 4chan archive of the discussion of the Rake from the paranormal board. In it there is a phone number, like the one you mentioned. There is also both of the pictures you (moonbear) posted. I'm not going to call it, just because I am admittedly creeped out to the point where caution overtakes my curiosity.
I don't friggin believe it. The lights in my house just started flickering and I'm getting damn paranoid now xD Flickering lights are the first sign... I fear it may be too late... Just leave now, go to the closest, most populated area as soon as you can. I regret wishing The Rake upon you... now it's too late.

Well, I'm sorry that this sounded like every other single urban myth about a cryptid I've ever read. I didn't know an internet story that I've read before could be taken as indesputable fact. I completely understand that you had a freaky experience surrounding this story (I'd be scared too), but did you really have to say that you basically hope I die? That seems kinda harsh
EDIT: I'm sorry Moonbear if you did think that I was trying to hijack your thread. I wasn't. You shared a creepy story, so I thought I should too (: I didn't say I hope you would die, I said I hope he claims you as his next victim this night. That could insinuate the radio screeching, and any other number of things...

My turn for story time!
The Jersey Devil
A teenage girl in southern New Jersey was left alone for the weekend while her parents went to the casinos in Atlantic City. On Saturday night, a terrible storm swept into the area. A heavy rain pounded on the roof. The wind rattled every window. And a bolt of lightning had knocked out the power in three counties.
All alone in a dark house lit only by candles, the girl was very frightened. But she had her dog with her - a big golden retriever. He wasn't exactly a killer, but at least he was comforting.
When she was ready to go to sleep, the girl took the dog into her room with her and had him lay down on the floor beside her bed. Every time the thunder crashed above her house, she awoke and reached down her hand. "You still there, Boo?" The dog would lick her hand and was reassured that she was not alone. Eventually, she fell into a deep sleep.
At about six the next morning, something dripping in the bathroom woke her. Assuming it was the tap, she climbed out of bed and went down the hall. Entering the bathroom, she was confronted with a horrifying and grisly sight. There was her dog, hanging by its neck from the shower head. Scrawled in blood on the mirror beside it was the message "The Jersey Devil can lick hands, too." Wow, way to post an urban legend in a factual thread about the horror that is the Rake... "My turn for story time! Big Foot!" Would've been more appropriate. Besides, if I'm not mistaken I believe the title of this thread is "The Rake.", not "The Rake... and over-glorified urban legends."... Hijacking the thread won't save you from The Rake's cold rusted fingers, R0B0SH4RK... I pray he claims you as his first victim on this night...

Earlier in the week, Infiniteintertia revealed to me in HurricaneAndrew's showcase that he had indeed beaten tankcat. I'm curious to see the results behind this "victory". Also, after checking the bot sage so gratefully AI'd for me, it appears that in doing so my maces had become completely imbalanced, which may have been a deciding factor. Just my two cents.
tl;dr: Can I see the results to tankcat's defeat?

Yesterday my computer was ATTACKED by a virus.
I called up some friends of mine, and the virus came through a portal from this webites. Got a bunch of different types of KeyLoggers, Artemis', Trojans, and various other viruses that swamped my system.
Not a complaint, just trying to inform everybody, as well as the administrators, because it is obvious that we have had trouble with spambots as of late as well.
All the viruses, and their source, were directed from GTM. I've never seen any redirections or other out-of-character behavior from the gametechmods' website or this forum... In order for you to catch a virus from visiting the forums, javascript or other forms of activescript would need to be enabled in order for them to inject a malicious script that would automatically execute a virus or trojan... My guess is that you already had some kind of virus/trojan that injected the malicious code into your browser, this is a very common behavior. Lot's of trojans/viruses will inject malicious code into the website you are visiting using javascript or invisible iframes, I would suggest upgrading to firefox and using the noscript plugin if you have not done so...

First off, I think you should take a look here: http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/ra2techs.htm
No one will even consider taking your bots seriously until you learn the more advanced aspects of ra2.
For your quote unquote "bot" X-Para Mental, I see more things wrong with this bot than right.
First off, never use N-12 wheels. These are literally the worst wheels in the game next to Narrow Wheels. Despite apparent "cosmetic appeal", The only wheels you should use are shiny hubcap wheels.
Also, I notice that you have your ram plates attached to extenders that wrap around your chassis, which wastes literally about 30kg and doesn't do anything to make your bot better. You have also wasted around 10% of your chassis room, and you should never use pink batteries in a HW bot.
Once again, I strongly suggest you go to http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/ra2techs.htm
Before posting a bot showcase. Most of the veterans here rip apart newbies who haven't taken the time to research the forum, let alone learn the most basic techniques on their own. This is a very informative and helpful post.

Sorry guys, I think I may have described the method wrong. After leaving ra2 for a few weeks, I've almost forgotten myself. I tried following the directions today and found that it's not working for me either, although I don't think this is the exact method I followed. I tried this on numerous test bots weeks ago and everyone lined up perfectly, even in battle. Regrettably I deleted most of them because they were merely to see if the glitch worked. The trick is the combination of the pause/f12. And I wish I had outlined the method with more detail when I first discovered it, now I fear it may be lost. I'll experiment with it some more tonight.

Why not just say what kind of bot you have, should there honestly be a community guideline to follow... I think it's ridiculous, although a term like "pure HS" makes some people egotistical, I.E "Oh well I've built 4 PURE HS, that's right." I think the standard should be the following: (number of weapons)(type)(weapon), Examples: 16HSM, 36HSM, 36HSI, 36VSI, etc... it makes sense, it's not boasting, it's short and simple...

What is the point of making a pure HS if it isn't an original weapon setup in the first place, all I'm seeing is clones of absolute chaos and tankcat popping up...

It's been 4 days, any progress on the matches Infiniteintertia? Also if you're still up for it Starcore I can send you my bot if you'd like.

I could've sworn I saw a bot like that somewhere else... never mind. I must be crazy.

I tried to update tankcat by giving it a wider wheel base, as Infiniteinertia suggested, and by changing the maces from facing sideways to facing downwards:
