Yes,.... and with a little software, there is no limit.
Mine has 96 teams.
Phil improved mine a lot and has over 100 teams,...

Now, now,... Please pick the appropriate solution:
...A. I ate two crows. (numerate)
...B. You ate one too. (adverb)
...C. I went to the store. (preposition)
...D. You should learn to speak the word 'to'. (infinitive)

BTW, I had a good teacher on this word myself...

-This may be better than the 'nothing' we presently have, right now.

-BUT: To whomever, check with ACAMS (his site), before starting such a thread, since I know he's planning and implementing certain things behind the scenes.

He HAS done work on it, he's mentioned to me. I know it's often hard to do classes and extra curricular stuff at the same time....
It is what it is.

What you're stating is true, Reier. Yet there are a lot of bots.
And I think Sage is politely glossing over the fact that Trov and I are just finishing up the final tweakings of the RAW-2 Arena. So the arena work is part of the wait too....

This is an over-all working skeleton that could be fleshed out. A lot of the primal framework is done... hehe.

Nice features:
Quote
-it is made with C++
-models are made in MilkShape (Free, unlike 3dsmax)
-made with the bullet physics engine(Free), rated the third best physics engine today.

I went through the files and it looks well thought-out (and 'mod-able' too)...
AND.... the guy's asking for feedback to improve it.

Oh, and the 'controls' are no problem, guys...

Glad you're contacting this guy, Goose. Let us know what he says...

The 'dynamics' are exactly the same and accurate. The 'magnitude' of exploitation is the only variable,..... which is dictated by the opportunity or situation.

I see it all of the time in my work, at the individual and social levels....

Ahh, but ignorance is bliss.
Tell that to those who were loaded onto the 'relocation' trains,...............to Auschwitz.

Ignorance may 'feel' good, but it makes nothing actually good. Drunk drivers don't make things better, but worse.
And also, ignorance allows 'predators' to thrive through propagandizing the ignorant. It's happening today, to due the wide acceptance of this quoted misnomer....

You guys, learning stuff is essential to life. I hate to see people with the mind-set that expanding your mental awareness is somehow a 'burden', or 'useless'. Serge was mentioning to me (IM) how we all tend to have that maligned mind-set when we're in the lower levels of schooling.... and it's true we do. But learning more about reality is probably the most important thing one can do as an individual. Even if it's outside of school, like reading (non-fiction) books, is helpful. And not just about one little category/subject, but about all categories of learning, so as to have a more complete picture of things. In expanding beyond one little area, we can learn 'how' to think and reason by seeing the connections between different areas of knowledge, instead of being told 'what' to think in a little shell (for an occupation only).
I can only appeal to you guys that to stay ignorant, or in one little category of what there is to learn, or to stop learning new things ever, is a terrible mistake. As the saying goes "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."

General Support / Why does this happen?
« on: October 23, 2009, 10:55:56 PM »
Yep.
I don't know about the 'prongs', and I don't really have time to check it out. But any geomobject (arena or component) that has these switched will reverse the controls when a bot passes over it, like the 'Ramp' in the garage (in which there are no other bots).

BTW: CB, didn't I send you an example of this? Duh...maybe it was to someone else...I forgot. Too tired right now.

Nice matches.
Joe, sometimes the Starting Point is a bit high. Might want to fix this.
Q. Is that the moded gmf I gave you, did I forget and leave it that way?

Z, I didn't know you were asking a question with your second post. What I'm saying is that if the prongs are this way, then it is what it is; and even may have been done deliberately....

The 'addextra...' ramp in the garage....is an example of the x + z coordinates being switched around. If you go up the ramp to jump, once you're on the ramp the controls are turned around and you quickly lose speed, because it's wanting then to go reverse full speed. This should be fixed for DSL3, though I didn't see it mentioned...

Thanks, guys.

General Support / Why does this happen?

I've not seen your situation, Z, but you can reverse the x+z coordinates in the gmf and it will make for crazy steering. Everything willl be opposite: L=R, R=L, F=B, B=F. If the component had these tweeked, then it will result in reversed controls.
Note: If you think about it, this would be convenient, because your enemy (User or AI) when trying to back off your 'reversed coordinate' component fork would actually keep itself on more leaving you in control of your enemy....

I don't have time to show pics and illustrate this now. For an example, look in the top haunted 'attic' of my Giant Test Garage. The coordinates are reverse there, and it makes getting away from the dangerous entity up there very difficult.

Discussion / Preventing Flail AGODing
« on: October 19, 2009, 06:59:49 AM »
123,
When developing a servo motor that would mount on another servo motor in a stable, consistantly controllable way for AI-ing automatic turreted cannon bots, I was able to get one bot working well, so I saved the bot file on the side. Then later, when I opened the same bot to work on it more, it AGODed. It would not work from that point on, as usual. Then I remembered the BU file I saved and removed and replaced it with a copy of the BU bot file. When I imported and opened the bot it was NOT AGODing.

So I figured that (1) since once it AGODs it's hard to get it back together (even if you quit the game), and (2) since the AGODing is something that seemed to be remedied when I replaced it with an 'identical' back up bot file, I concluded that some info in the bot file was corrupted when it AGODed. I thought that when it AGODs and then I get out of the garage, it saved the corrupted info in the bot file and would not from that time on work rightly again,... unless the physics engine remedied the glitch while open in the garage (rare) and then I saved it in this 'right' state again.

Therefore I took the 2 identical bot files and compared them,... but I could find no difference. I didn't/couldn't check everything in the file, but did go over the components with a fine tooth comb since it's these that go AGOD, and still couldn't find any difference. I especially focused on the blue line (quaternion component rotation) because if it is not right it displaces components a lot like AGOD does.

But all specs of the faulty file matched up to the working file, both in the components section, and also in the chassis section.......bummer.

So, IMHO, it is a physics engine issue, that if/when it happens is stored glitched, when you quit, in the bot file...some where/how. You might get lucky and have it come back together again in the garage and playing around, but if not, you might as well rebuild your bot...

This is my present understanding from my experience with it. Any additional insight may help figure this out, if it can be.
