*changes the rules to piss off Joe*

I kid, I kid... But why do mods/admins have to do that now?

I'm looking forward to this though.

Tournament Archives / RA2 Extreme Warriors: Signups
« on: November 03, 2010, 07:28:48 AM »

SIGN UPS ARE NOW CLOSED.
The good old signups. Here are the rules:

There are 7 heats, with 5 fights in each. These fights are:

1. Vengeance battle
2. Challenge belt
3. Mayhem
4. Special Event (be it an Annihilator, Disk Destruction, Axe Mania etc.)
5. Tag Team Terror

Basically all gametypes. Most of them speak for themselves. It works basically the same way as Robot Wars Extreme/ Extreme Warriors. There is no true winner of the tournament, but their are winners of the small battles and the Tag Team Terror.

The bracket to be used for the Tag Team Terror:

Yes, it is a replica tourney, but I'm confident that I can host this. Just don't send robots with too many skinned components, please?

I need a total of 18 entries. I can AI them, but if you can AI them yourself, then it would save a lot of time.

The rules:

I need 16 people to pair up and take part in the Tag Team Terror.
I need 14 people to take part in the Challenge Belt.
I need 8 people to take part in the 2 Annihilators.
I need 14 people to take part in the vengeance (preferably if you have a grudge against each other).
I need everyone to willingly take part in the Mayhem.
You can enter as many events as you like, but once they're full, they're full, so get those places in!
DSL HW
The arena to be used is a reskinned DSL Tourney arena, hazards enabled.
One match each time.
Max time for the match is 3 minutes.
You can change your entry at any time during the signups.
After the signups, you may not change it.
If a bot havoks, then the match is automatically restarted. If the same bot havoks again, then it is disqualified.
Realistic rule does not apply, as this is a replica tourney.
No Custom Components.
Multibots are not allowed, but in the very extreme cases where they are needed (Badnik's bot is a prime example of this) then they will be allowed, only if they are attached to a smartzone.
AI parts are not allowed, except for their burst/weapon motors.
The robot HAS to work LIKE THE REAL THING.
BFE etc is allowed, but you have to PM me to tell me that you are doing it.
The replicas must have been in an episode of RW: Extreme/Extreme Warriors.
Tracked robots are NOT allowed.

WALKING ROBOTS:

If you do decide to enter a walking robot (a robot which uses legs to propel itself along rather than wheels), then the max weight limit for it is 1200kg, rather than 800kg.

Examples of walking robots include: Miss Struts, Jim Struts, Anarchy. None of these were featured in Extreme though.

Robots like Drillzilla (shufflers) are not classed as walking robots, so their weight limit is 800kg.

Here is my entry:

Signups will close on December 14th at 10:00 GMT.

Proves how realistic RW: ED is. They definitely got the bit right when WBC's wheel touches the arena wall...

W00T!!! 900th Post!!!

That is how the 3D object is, (GMF)

No, I mean that the RW arena's pit and flipper are on the wrong side of the arena. They should be on the other side. Say if they are viewed from Craig's booth. The flipper should be on the left and the pit on the right. But the pit is on the left and the flipper on the right. What part of the GMF needs to be edited for it to be right.

OK, everyone, listen:

You're lucky that their is even a community to this game. Sure, we got people spamming the off topic section with pointless threads, but almost all of them still play RA2. If we lose members of this community, then the forum is certain to go down.
Do you know why I joined the forums? Because I wanted to. Because I enjoy this game.
If you find the off-topic section annoying, then just ignore it, and continue posting in the main body of the forum. If you want this forum and game to die by creating RA3, then fine, go ahead, because their still will be a small number of us who will still play RA2.

That is all.

I'm surprised that their is a forum about a 7 year old game about a sport which hardly anyone plays anymore.

If we lose members such as yourself, Dexterhunter, then it may be the end of RA2 for everyone.

Can you imagine life without BBEANS? Answer me that.

GK - It looks like this will fail at any moment...
Zog - ...as well as this robot.

 :(

I suck at building LWs.

Predictions predictions predictions...

Dizzy Dragon: The beatbars look deadly, but the weapon looks a bit flimsy...
Dark Steel: Yet again, a weak weapon. Looks more capable though.
Sloth: A very well made replica. Is the disk too high?
Missing Link: The weaponry is quite potent, but if its flipped, then its basically screwed.
Hazard: One of the better skinned robots, and could go far.
Mighty Mouse: Great idea, but isn't it a HW?
Scutlet V3: What's it weapon? Looks a bit top heavy...
Whirligig: Exposed angle connecter....
Dr. Inferno Jr.: Win.
Death By Monkeys:  :SFTW
Cassius: A well skinned robot, but yet again, it's a HW irl.
Mr. Self Destruct: Could go far.
Hunter: One of the best skinned robots out there. Well done, Matt!
Disc-O-Inferno: Not enough skinning work, but nonetheless, the weaponry is good.
Twisted Metal Evo: Has the sam design as Disc-O-Inferno, but with better skinning work. The weaponry isn't quite as good though.
Dark Pounder: Confusing setup.
Dragonstrike: The dark horse.
Hvispilla: wat
Explosion: What's with the weird arm thing?
Aggravated Assault: I'm not certain of the weapons, but it is quite big...
Hkasa: One of the best wedges here, but is that enough?
Purple Plasma: So this is what G.K.'s robot looks like. Can it self-right though?
DTK: Whoever built this is clearly an idiot.
Raizer Blade: Very well skinned and very well made. Is a HW irl.
Gemini: Quite well skinned, but wrong choice of weaponry.
Purse: Very well skinned, but can the flipper get underneath the other robots?
Tentomushi: Joe, you have a talent.
Junkyard Dog: I like the lights.
Matkia: The flipper looks a bit of centre, and it could be on its side a lot as well.

Badnik, it appears that you have got the wrong version of DTK (I think). I may resend, I may not...

Aw, Stag, I was looking forward to meeting you. You could try and get a taxi or something...

Because the RW arena is mirrored...

I'm definitely entering this, and this time, I'm getting past the first round!

Is Clash Cubes always LW? If so, then I would love it even more.
