I'll start sweeping through this thread and dropping warnings if I have to. Keep it on topic, guys. I'm serious. I'm not in the mood to play janitor.

I really dig the style of your linework.
Do you work mostly in digital media now, or do you still use paper and graphite? 583

Here's a thought that just occurred to me. Maybe the pressure being placed on the wedges has something to do with when the wedges are put on the bot, similar to how weight distribution when attaching wheels affects straight line driveability.
Probably 100% not true, but worth a shot. 585

Admittedly, abuse of power, but at the time I deemed banning him necessary because of how he was acting. He did literally tell me over skype that he was sending anthrax to my house because of a temp ban or some sh**. Clearly there's no reason to believe that from someone who was 12 years old at the time. But hey, it solved the problem for a while. Now the whole situation is sort of a running gag against me, which I have no real qualms with. 586

I know this kind of went silent for a bit but I assure you it isn't dead. I know the hosts have been working on running some practice streams. Haven't had the chance to touch base with anyone in a week or two, my last assignment for school is this weekend so I should have some time.
I've been giving this some thought regardless. I'm thinking at this point, with how busy everybody's lives are, that instead of running this year round basically, we should just have it run over the summer once a year. That way more people are around all the time, as a lot of our playerbase are still in school. Looking for feedback on that, as well as the other stuff we left off with. Didn't really get much of a solid feel for the last few things we were talking about. 588

Back in my day, GTM was a dark, scary place unknown to all of us.
Name changes are pretty highly discouraged, unless there is a good reason for it. 590

Discussion / Dedicated Bi-Annual RA2 League« on: November 16, 2015, 05:13:30 PM »
So for those of you that haven't checked out the tournament discussion lately, I'm trying to organize a competitive, team based ra2 league. More info on that here: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=18422.0
What I need to know from you guys, is how many people would be interested in entering this sort of thing. Keep in mind this may require you to send in updates to your bots on a weekly basis depending on what we settle on going in. The rules are not set in stone yet, and I need your help deciding on and developing all the different things we want to make happen. Any input you have, please direct to that discussion thread. 595

Sage, RedAce and yugitom are officially on the hosting team.
My goal is to have the majority of this ironed out by the end of November, and have a team assembled and somewhat organized so we can button up any lose ends, assign roles, and figure out what is and is not going to be possible so we can get this thing started in January. I will likely be making a skype group and a google doc sometime this week. If anybody else is interested in helping out, please contact me on skype or via PM here. I'd like to keep any further discussion in this thread geared towards gauging interest and figuring out what people want. As of right now, we have 80% decided on: 1. Ironforge. It is has the most uncharted territory and is a mod literally designed for exciting matches. As much as I love stock, IF just makes the most sense going forward. 2. Draft format. Quote [Sage] Hey kill, lets do you me and inf on a teamI think that's enough said there. 3. Bots announced at the start of each season, minor tweaks allowed week to week. Still up for full discussion: 1. Livestreams! These would be in addition to the recorded matches being posted. This will require a lot of dedication from everybody, with hosts and commentators (maybe) working as a team to deliver a consistent product. Would you come out to a saturday night livestream? With live chat and commentators going to work, this could be an awesome weekly event. 2. Commentators! BAH GAWD ALMIGHTY. WITH GAWD AS MAH WITNESS HE IS BROKEN IN HALF. Ideally I want a color commentator and a play by play commentator. Could help add a lot of flavor to this and really make it a spectator event. 3. Anything else! I want more input. What do you guys want to see out of this? I plan on making a poll in the general discussion section this evening to really see how many people want to get in on this. That way we can gauge the scale of it properly and plan accordingly. If you have any friends who used to play, give them a jingle and have them come take a look at this and see if they might be interested. 596

Announcing was something I considered, but considering the fact that we're gonna need multiple hosts, getting somebody to record a vocal track week after week for all of the matches might be a bit much to ask. What would be really cool is having a dedicated announce team, with a play by play guy with a real base of knowledge of the game, and a color commentator who is just straight up entertaining.

Tournament Archives / Re: Dedicated Annual (Or something) RA2 League« on: November 16, 2015, 11:11:23 AM »I'm sorry, could someone explain how this draft thing would work? Before the first league year would start, a user pool would be created. X Amount of captains would be decided based on the amount in that pool. Captains would submit their draft picks on skype or some other IM program in a snake draft format, with the order randomly decided. The users selected are placed on the teams they are chosen to. 598

What does everyone else think of the draft vs team of friends issue? Keep in mind that if we do a draft, there is a solid chance that some people might be left out. If enough people are left out, they could be assembled into a free agent team or something, but some people not getting to participate is a real possibility.
Also, how do we feel about bot submissions? We have a few options here. 1. We could have each member declare their bots at the start of the league year. Like a regular tournament, what you submit is what gets used the whole time. The strategy week to week is which bot gets selected for each match from each team. 2. Primary bot must be declared at the start of the tournament. This bot is used for week 1. Each subsequent week the bot can be redesigned, but it must stay true to the original design. This allows growth of players throughout the course of the tournament. Alternatively, we could allow a set amount of redesigns per player OR per team for each weight class. Like if the league is 8 weeks, allow 2 redesigns per user for the season or 4 redesigns per weight class for the team. 3. New bot is allowed every week. Unpredictability could be pretty awesome. Gives viewers a better idea of the scope of all around building ability of team members. Problem here is that halfway into the season, if one bot type is dominating then everybody would change to that bot type. 4. Each week is a different bot type challenge. Week 1 is VS/Drum, week 2 is pokers, etc etc. All around building ability, more directly competitive, and a chance to let every team showcase potential specialties. However, some matches could be boring wedgefests. This sounded a lot better in my head until I started writing it out. 599
