But I agree with you on the discs and wedges there, drop the wedge size, maybe the material, that'd get you...I think 10kg? Light DS tooth in the middle of each disc. =)

you could ditch the multi extenders and flipper segments for only a skirt hinge to get pretty much the same effect for less then half the weight
then shorten the wedges by one size, drop the materiel to say Aluminum and get some weapons in the middle of the disc's
