Well, after messing around a bit, I made a good Middleweight Flipper. It is called Bacon Flipz That inside picture has the steel skirt used for the flipper removed just so the inside can be seen better. It has Plastic 10MM Armor It is also quite effective. -Baconus

Here is Spiky. As you can see, quite a bit of improvement. I still used a piglet for back wheels, but I used it just because I needed a wheel for if I land weirdly. It is quite good. (It also likes hugs) -Baconus

You don't need to attach the dual perm like that, there's an attach point under the motor so you can mount it to the chassis.
I know, this is not making any changes to the original design What armour is it running? Astros aren't really up to scratch for a heavyweight, might want to downgrade armour a bit to up the drive. also smaller wheels would probably help :)
I think Aluminium 5mm. I also think that armor would stay, I would rather have armor that is a bit stronger than have slightly better drive. My bot is meant to be destructive, not fast.

I have made some improvements to it: It has drive motors, slightly worse wheels, and better "Angle Extenders"

Recommendations: -The motors you're using for drive there are Weapon motors. Drive motors are usually Copals, Astroflights, TWM3R's, NPC's and the Drive Etek. Change the piglets out for even TWM's and you'll have a massive upgrade. -iirc the HP on angle extenders is really not good - consider an alternative attachment method with higher HP :) -Only 1 ant battery? You need a lot more than that!
Hope this helps!
For Motors, I will edit that. For Extenders, Ill see about that. For Power: OF COURSE I HAVE MORE THAT THAT. I also have 2 20KG Batteries on the other side.

Welp, Here comes the big one, Hammatime. After searching for a bit, I found it. Here, I still did not know about the attack points, however, my steering has improved a lot, and my building has been improved. I also had a bit of fun with it. So yeah. It Powerful. -Baconus Edit: I will start showing outsides of bots once I get to Spiky (The Next one) because at this point they are boring to look at.

Redditbots is inferior to GTM tournaments. End of argument.
For Some Stuff. (You know it just started this year, right?)
Advice for newbies: Don't listen to Avalanche, or take anything he says too seriously.
Taken into consideration.

you know DSL bars only do damage with the sides right ?
You know that was my first tech that could actually work (without being crazy), right?
actually, no. you didn't stated it.
other points on your bot...
Car steering is generally seen as barely controllable, especially when you are AI'ing a bot. use standard motors : you'll see an improvement in speed, turning and general control of your bot.
Yeah, I realized that.

Anyways, Here is my Redditbot, Whacker: As you can see, Steering motors, a lot more battery than needed, and weird attach points. But, an Improvement from Derpy, I can say for sure.

Welp, by the suggestion of Craaig, I have made a showcase thread. This will basically show the "experience" of my RA2 Building skills. But first, here is a little background: I found this game because of Redditbots. It is basicly any tournament here, however it includes the whole Battlebots Reddit community. I wanted to join, so I downloaded the game, and started making it. I made a good bit of process through the first day, from downloading, it finding out how to even place parts, to finding out how to wire stuff. Soon I made my first working bot, Derpy, who will be shown a little latter. Now, as the deadline got closer, I made Whacker, which ranked #32 in Redditbots (and lost). I still had almost no idea what I was doing, apparent in the design of Whacker. After the deadlines finished, I made another bot called HAMMATIME. Here I learned that you do NOT need steering motors to turn, and you can change the attach points of items. It was a really good bot, winning a lot of matches against the AI. However, the original design got lost, and I am digging through stuff to find the original. I wanted to show the whole community about this bot, so when I saw on the reddit the GTM Robot Wars tournament, I signed up, made a bot with the original idea of HAMMATIME, and joined, and was one of the ones who made it in. Now, many people say it is not good, but I say that it is really good for my experience. I am just now finding out how to make a good flipper, and I feel like I could make some really good robots. Now, enough introduction, here is my first bot, Derpy: Now, when I got back to this, my bot did not even have STEERING. Probably because I forgot XD I did not know about attach points JUST LOOK AT THE WHEELS. It fell down a lot It also did a move I call the head spin. I could just go on and on about how bad it is. Anyways, This was my first WORKING bot, and I will show the timeline of progressiveness as I go on. -Baconus Edit: Pic wasn't Working

Why does everybody hate Hammatime? Edit: Wrong word
Dislike is probably the better term, although people who missed or ignored the weeks of lead-in time for this tournament, then moan about the bots that signed up in time will probably prefer the term hate.
A serious answer would be that it is put together quite sloppily, which for a building style that is in theory puts looks as above 'efficiency' is a major downside. It's details like the weapon being off-center, the simple box shape, and the overall appearance that aren't reflecting kindly upon Hammatime. Mechanically it works, but the lack of polish is what is reflecting badly on the bot and how people perceive your building ability.
It's a bit harsh unfortunately, and shouldn't be taken as a personal insult, I didn't mean anything I said in my post as a personal attack, but that is how it can be around the forum. I don't mind taking the time to go through some things with you to try and help you along, the offer is there if you want it. :)
I am going to be honest for this: This is around the third of fourth of my good bots. I mean, I have improved. Whacker (32 seed Redditbots) had Steering motors, and I did not even realize you could change how you wanted to attach stuff to the robot. Anyways, I know that I could do much better (keep a look out for spiky) and I will not stop trying until I give up this game.

Should be entering later today.
I also am thinking of a Redditbots Rematch, with one of my HW against Polonium. (As a grudge match)
