After Action Report:
The wrong opponent for Raus. I wanted to see how the change in drive motors would effect Raus, as it turns out: It's even slower, so Dominotrix had ****-all to worry about, and Domino picked the longest reaching blades to punt me about the arena with, though even if he'd used the other weapons he'd still have won. Also, the E-wedge getting torn off immediately was pretty funny but also a bad sign for the rumble.
I'll wait till the rumble to pass judgement on Raus Mk. II's overall performance.
ahem exists you know that right?
if what sylandro posted plus the fact kurt directly quoted me didn't tip you off that my robot ate sh**, how?

Yellow teeth is cool, but lots of empty space and very little battery power. If that's one black, that will run out of power before the match is over, so go for 2. What armour is it?

Ok, so I need to type this out quickly before heading to a exam, so I'll make this quick.
Basically what I was thinking was "is Live Designs gonna happen, and could we have an alternative to that if it doesn't?" I didn't fancy asking Badnik, as the more you poke someone to do something, the more they get pissed off. (See: The Asbestosstar/Collosseum Debacle). Also, a notable problem I feel that has been around GTM for a while is that once you win a tournament, that's great bragging rights, but it doesn't stay. That may be being changed with the GTMCS tournament and the ribbons that apparently will be attached to people's profiles if they win, but I think another good idea would be to have tournament entries automatically added to this pack; This way, anyone can fight or work with the robots that have been entered into tournaments, see how they were built so that they can either clone it or take inspiration (cloning a good robot means you might understand how to build it better than simply being told how to build it), and can then compare what other members have made to yours.
Also, another thing is that when you showcase something, it stays there, all that happens is that people come along, say either "that's sh**", "that's meh lets improve it" or "that's some cool sh**", and then the robot is forgotten shortly after.
However, if you enter that into a AI pack that everyone uses for IRL, whether that ends up being this or Live Designs 2.0, everyone can see it repeatedly and can fight it. This could potentially lead to your building being recognised, or if it's not too the highest of standards, people can call it out and the builder can improve on it.
Hence, doing a community AI pack, where every member can submit a robot (though this is more suited for helping bad members improve and good members showing how it's done), should be a good idea.
Also, I don't think this needs to be restricted to IRL. If people want to do a Community Builds DSL-S/Stock/Ironforge AI pack, simply do it. I literally stole this idea from Badnik without even asking him and tacked on some additional ideas, so go ahead and copy my copy.
(sorry badnik)
Also, doing a community league where each month a different tournament or task is run, such as one month being a Stock HW build, one month being DSL-S month, etc. (or 2 months if we need more of a timeframe for the host, tho i'd love to do the host.) would be a interesting idea as we could then have the new guys branching out from IRL and into other metas so that they have a chance of winning the league, as the league would not just stick to one meta.
anyways enough rambling i need to get off the computer soon so heres my thoughts, reply with thoughts on how this may work and if it'll be a good idea.

One more goddamn post about this fight and we're going to start handing out reprimand. We've been letting this coast because it has looked like it might have calmed down multiple times, but someone has to keep bringing it back up.
All posts in this thread from this point forward are to be about any remaining matches to be posted.
looks like dad is gonna be getting the banhammer out
Actually, no. I posted about your refusal to fight a more fair fight for once, and not the Paladin match. And I personally checked in with him on the first post that I said to ensure it wouldn't be flaming, and hence the second post should also be fine, if edging towards flaming. Time to bring back havok DQ rules then?
I'll do so during the grudge matches. Unless mod says no. Definitely during future tournaments, though.
Out of interest, did Paladin havok much outside of the rumble or no?

So you'll gladly fight my robot 3 times, each time being a foregone conclusion (powerful flipper vs HS with no good srimech or wedge), but as soon as I bring up the idea of not fighting something that isn't totally outclassed you refuse it immediately. C'mon man.
Yes, that is how tournaments work. You enter one robot and don't get to change it out based on what other people entered.
Missed the point. I challenged him to fight a robot that would give a challenge instead of repeatedly fighting a robot he totally countered and acting like he was king of GTM for doing so, and he immediately refused it. So calling him out on fighting the same bot again and again because he countered it is unfair, and then fighting it with the bot that I would have used, which has now been showcased, that would not have countered his, but would give it a half decent fight. That has to be your weakest argument ever.
Let's put this in different terms, if you had seen Grindr lose to CS twice after being pinned on the wall and flail raped into submission, both in the main tournament and in the team rumble, and then Jamie said in a snarky fashion that he would fight Grindr again, despite it being a forgone conclusion, and then you had offered to fight it with a robot that was slightly more tryhard or powerful to match the flail rammer, and he had outright refused it, that would be fine?

Either make the wedge shallower or the flipper shorter. The way it sticks out the top right now looks pretty awful. I'd also personally go for a less boxy chassis shape but that might just be me.
i'm reluctant to change the chassis: it's sort of a running joke/thing that I reuse the Anti Gravity 4 chassis, and it fits the storm bursts too well. I do agree though. The middle flipper being long was for the purpose of trying to selfright when resting on the top panel but it's ****ing ugly so i'll switch that back to the same size as the other ones. Can i ask though: By flipper shorter, do you mean the middle one or all of them? now see the difference between your bot and paladin is that paladin actually makes an effort to look good
thanks for the constructive criticism m8 im gonna be frank the stacked emergency wedges are.... tacky.
id say you could make a better looking wedge from the steel/titanium panels and the accompanying wedges. DSC's IRL components pack should ensure you still have the Black/Yellow color scheme going on.
something like this:
(Image removed from quote.)

alternatively, the beaters now have these new wedge styles that look pretty cool if put to good use
(Image removed from quote.)

or, if you're creative enough, im sure there are other components that can double as wedges
(Image removed from quote.)
the wheels intersecting with the chassis sticking out like that feel weird. i would make the side even and just give it wheelguards or have the wheels stick out slightly more so it doesnt clip through the chassis
the top panel kinda ruin the chassis shape too tbh. i'd get rid of it personally
i've not got much inspiration for that level of wedge creation but yeah I agree they look sh** so i'll figure something out. agreed on the wheels, i just hate having to scrap the chassis. i'll do that tho. IDK if its irl my dude, 3 bursts seems pretty silly for an IRL bot.
It's a forward flipper with no width, it's gonna get rekt by HS
"IDK if its irl my dude, 3 bursts seems pretty silly for an IRL bot." wew lad "It's a forward flipper with no width, it's gonna get rekt by HS" I could care less in all honesty. The AG series has for a long time now been about bulky (though this is bulky as in lots of height and boxy chassis, even with a sloped and thinner wedge), RW style chassis after the first 2 were too small and too fast, and I kinda like having a weakness to some bot types, makes it a bit more IRL. No point in making your bot invincible to all types, it's too tryhard for IRL. It's why I haven't scrapped Raus after the Billet and Dominotrix fights. Front hinger Emergency flippers

I see no correlation here.

i was doing revision when i got a call "team dark is kill" "no" so then i made this absolute work of art THREE. BURST. FLIPPER. IF PALADIN DID IT THEN I CAN TOO. PREPARE TO FEEL ANTI-GRAVITY MOTHERF***ERS Ok, now serious mode. Basically I got worried and concerned after I failed to beat Baconus in our challenge. I pondered how I could get more power, after all that would be cheating and un-IRL if I did two bursts, right? 1 word that answered my concerns: PALADIN. excuse me for a moment: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Now that's out the system, a continuation of the story of an Autist at Work: Hence, I gave into the new meta and built this monstrosity. I saw the success of Strychnine in Redditbots, so i took the good old Anti Gravity Chassis tm and it somehow perfectly fitted 3 storm bursts. I then took that and CF'd in 2 metal hinges for some E-wedges (because it's not an Anti Gravity Evo without the standardised E-wedge) and then closed the game, before realising it was slow and was kinda sh**ty in the state it was in, so i spent more time and got what you see in the picture. Overall, this took me about 8 hours to build, reusing parts and chassis. I think the armor's something like Tit 5 but don't quote me on that. I need to see if I can align the bursts better for a cleaner flipper. And the Yellow-Orange colour scheme will be retired as soon as i get the motivation to reskin it, because damn i miss the good old black and yellow stripes.

You've already seen Fighter Mk. II fight Paladin twice. A wedgeless HS vs Paladin has gone down the exact same way 4 times now (2 times on Executioner, 2 on Fighter Mk. II.), so how about something different? I've made a flipper myself (admittedly rushed due to needing to get it out there then post this then do revision), and if Gulden is willing to AI another robot i'll gladly fight you with that. But a Paladin vs Fighter Mk. II fight is not what I want because we've already seen it and it merely adds for what is borderline flaming, and hence I request both you and Gulden not to do it.
Oh, and the name comes from my old (and terrible) robot called Fighter, and I decided to make a new version in HW style, built after I've spent time improving my IRL craft. The Mk. 2 moniker should be fairly obvious, as this is the second version (Mark stands for Version or Model, so for short, Mk.) of Fighter. The name Fighter matches with the original counterpart, Brawler, which was even worse, so that needs to be updated as well.
Ye I'm not gonna endorse a fight vs a bot a you made specifically to counter my bot. I mean, I'd probably win anyway, but it's the principle. You should've entered that flipper in the first place.
Hows about Paladin vs Solaris?
So you'll gladly fight my robot 3 times, each time being a foregone conclusion (powerful flipper vs HS with no good srimech or wedge), but as soon as I bring up the idea of not fighting something that isn't totally outclassed you refuse it immediately. C'mon man. At least I can use it for my challenge with TheRoboteer.

Interesting. Won't be allowed in some tourneys tho
Oh it's just a rabbit hole project, zero tourney plans for this fella.
But yes it's a mix of trying to make a LW gadreel (not liking results) and then mixing in GG since potter's wheels are rediculous. The saws (and basically all active weaponry) are just thrown in for fun.
Update: hmmm can I turn these PW variations into a Nuts style bot? Maybe. Why? Because.
please call the robot "Nobody Likes Roasted Nuts"

lots of good robots this year, with a couple of comedy and legacy robots to round out the field. i can't help but be mystified that draven came back while tr2 didnt
The TR2 team mentioned that they weren't coming back this year. Can't remember the reason, though.
Yeah, the bots this year are sexy. Love the design of Rapid. Bit of a shame to not see Razer or Storm, though.
They apparently didn't do enough upgrades or additions to come back. This of course is total BS, as they totally overhauled TR2 for a new one seen in Episode 1 of RW:BOTS. As a result, I think personally Mentorn were either scared of flippers not working properly because they filmed in a Scotland warehouse in the middle of bloody winter (the morons) so CO2 might freeze up in the bottles of pneumatics, they prbably wanted to shift the balance of robots from flippers over to spinners, or (conspiracy theory) they may have been scared that they'd have a second Flipper champion, similar to how they feared Storm II would be another rammer champion after Tornado, and chose to not accept TR2 as a result, but as a courtesy gesture gave them a reserve status and a appearance on BOTS.

If you want, take a risk and go Pl 1. Any robot that's hitting your chassis has either already flipped you over, at which point you're pretty much f***ed, or is hitting your chassis from beneath you, in which case you're also f***ed, so lowering armour saves more weight which can be put into the weapon, which acts as your offense and defence.
You can get a even smaller chassis by dragging the chassis height bar to the very top, then clicking at the very bottom of the bar. Use this, then upgrade your mtor. Then, use a shorter size on the shell panels. Now, use 1 large typhoon teeth on the 2 sides. That's basically it, you should be good to go. If you want more weight, put armour on Plastic 1 for weight saving.

no
address the issues with this robot and improve on it. you will never get better if you just give up on a design before you can fix it.
seriously theres no point in posting a robot if as soon as you get negative feedback you stop working on it, take the criticism and make the bot better.
