Crusader 2 looks very nice. My pick for the heat, however, is Tornado. Nice interchangeableness.

and im still struggling to figure out who couldve made 2 :??? it looks like one of nfx's older bots but im still unsure

I don't think I ever built anything like #2. I'm struggling to remember if I've actually ever built a stock poker before the MW Insectoid things in my showcase.

Generic, but effective. Good solid build. Maybe a self-righting flag or something might help.

I'd refilm the first BW match, personally. NAR AI has different component HP, power outputs, even armour values than normal DSL. The Signups thread said it was normal DSL, and as such it should be filmed in DSL rather than NAR AI, to keep everything balanced normally.

Looks fantastic. It's basically a Middleweight version of Scrap Daddy's Ironbot Entry. Is it one Snapper or two?

30fps is normally a good one to use. It's the same framerate as the game, so that'll keep it smooth.

After a snot wad of problems, the first video is uploading. It's gonna take like 20 minutes to upload 1 video so does anyone no how to speed it up?

Turn off everything else using the internet, which will increase your bandwidth. =) My internet's pretty slow until my sister turns her laptop off.

Looking pretty good. If you can shrink the chassis by .1 kg (which should be comparatively easy), you might be able to add a pair of 20cms parallel to the ones currently holding the drive motors on, to raise them up a little bit and perhaps help with balance by lengthening the stance slightly.

Those skirts would probably dig into the floor, though, and prevent the bot moving at all. Check Explosion vs. Little Flipper 3 in the UK LW Championships a year or so ago for an example. Plus a weapon with that amount of weight behind it, that amount of torque on the motor, and only 2WD, would probably spin itself around uselessly and be either hideously unbalanced, or not able to drive in a straight line. It basically is substandard DSL, rather than actually built to be IRL. Hence why I referred to it as Lidl Value.

so that would be why NFX made that troll bot. Nice jorb NFX.

It was originally a concept for kill's abandoned Summer Sumo tournament. I figured that since DSL bots are usually more compact than Stock counterparts, and there are a lot of lighter and more versatile components available in DSL, I'd be able to make it work better here. Although it does say "Problem, groundfags?" on the top and underside.  :gawe:

I'd love to get in on this one.. am I right in thinking that the rumbles end up with loads of different weightclasses? *fears for my LWs*

right you are.  LW, MW, and HW all mixed up together.  Should be pretty chaotic.

It would be quite funny to watch a HW splattering three LWs about the place. Although it would be even funner to watch a HW getting torn apart by three LWs.

You can start the SBV thread yourself, that's normally how it works. If you've just got a splash at the moment, that's enough to warrant moving it forward. But do try and get some videos up soon.

I'd quite like to see them too. But bot building's moved on quite a bit in the last two years. =)

I was able to get my old hard drive working.
Now I have my bots from like 2 years ago yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
Showcase 'em!
Yes, showcase your aged, redundant machines.  :gawe:

BW - Looking like a pretty solid competition (apart from Ribbs). I'm quite impressed with logan's entry, personally, he's improved quite a bit from previous entries. STFC and DMP4 look a bit unstable to me, but DMP4 did reasonably well in RA2 Trials 3. ty4er could spring a surprise, Jack Daniels' bot is original, but I'm not too sure it'll do all that well. My pick for the division is Urjak's Radial Disturbance.

LW - Excuse me one moment.

Okay, now to business. Aside from ian and 090901, most of the bots have a similar sort of design. Linxus and Forrest's lack of wedging might let them down. Mr. AS appears to have AGOS, either that or his motors arne't lined up properly. Mike's bot looks very nice, but I'm worried about a lack of stability with the short stance, even with the wedge. So my pick for the LW's goes to Conraaa's Crno I Belo.

MW - Again, I'm seriously impressed with logan's bot. It's a very, very good series of bots, it's going to be a very close fought thing. ty4er, Gauche and madman are some interesting bots. Kurt's bot looks like it'll be destroyed pretty quickly, though, which is all down to wedges. I can't make a pick for this division, because it's pretty much a total wedge war. Tentetively going for S_M's Punt.

HW - Very nice use of interchangeable weaponry by SKBT. Go away Ribbs. Chocolate appears to be the closest to DSL of the group, and DBC's lack of extender supports slightly annoys me. Fracture looks very nice, and The Highlander makes another appearance in an IRL tourney. NMOL's exposed motors aren't that great, but at least it's got supports. OI3 looks quite good for an IRL bot, maybe a little bit like Freezerburn. Touch to pick a winner here, but I suppose I'll have to go for the absurdly cheap Lidl Value Chocolate.

Kimi and Grosjean did a good race today.
Great race by Lotus in general. I'm really surprised they haven't won yet. I reckon Grosjean might actually get there before Kimi does.

Yep, 8KHP. Looking quite good, though, I might turn the Piglets into kinda face spinners or jugglers, to avoid them kicking the opponent out of the way of the popup part.
