Will the sides of the new Chaos 2 fall off like they're made of cardboard this time around?
Nope, they shouldn't do this time. Where, and when did this happen!?
They always have been- Click did say any and all help with DSL3 is appreciated. That, and with Wham working on the RW Replicas, that's given me something to work on. Suits me down to the ground.

I can't wait to try it
Indeed, it's going to be a blast once they're all ready. For now though, watch this space- once I've finished sorting Chaos 2 and Firestorm out, I'll show the finished versions here.

As flattered as I am, I'm afraid I didn't make it- Wham did, so credit goes to him, there. I am helping him skin it though along with the new Firestorm, and I've provided my Panic Attack replica for DSL3. Also, hey- haven't heard from you in a while. And it will do- the wider chassis easily accomodates more powerful motors.
Well, my hat goes off to Wham. These replicas are freaking incredble, and his polygons and your skins are like salt and... uuhm... more... saal-
The reason why you haven't heard from me in a while is because I've been a way for a while now. But, I'm back now, and hopefully, for a good year or so. Here's hoping, at least.
Indeed- I've been very impressed with them so far, and hopefully with a bit of my painting wizardry, it should all come together nicely to produce some truly fantastic machines for DSL3. Almost like the Fish to Wham's Chips and Newspaper, you could say. :P But yeah, that's understandable. I've been away for a while myself due to College and ARC taking priority and generally not feeling much motivation anymore, only having the occasional look-in. Now that Noodle's been eliminated and jobs are open for DSL3 however, I feel good about coming back and lending a hand where I can.

Looks very nice, GF! I'm suprised you can pull stuff like that off... Where the did you learn them skills?
Also, does the speed of the robot match the "20MPH top speeds" of the original Chaos 2?

Good Job with the Replicas
I have a Idea how about do the UK Robot Wars Series Champions and 2nd, 3rd and 4th place robots for more exticement I'd love that and also the Series 1 Grand Finalists
Thx u
One of the main points brought up at the start of it was that there weren't going to be many new replicas, if any at all- on the Replica side of things, it's more dedicated to fixing and refining the existing ones to improve them massively in both looks and fighting capabilities, and allocating them to their IRL weight classes. Even still, five of the six RW Champions are already there, and you've got Pussycat, HypnoDisc, Storm II, Firestorm and the like, which account for a good percentage of the ones you mentioned. I was however, able to produce that comparison of the two Chaos 2s you wanted- The old one looked decent enough on the outside, but the skin was a bit wrong on the flipper, and it was too thin. It was worse in how it functioned, though- it was extremely light for a Heavyweight, used RADs for slow and wobbly steering that caused it to handle like a shopping cart. Worst of all, the flipper was powered by a Lifter Motor and had the attachment point on the back, causing it to appear like it was going into the chassis each time it fired. I suppose it was OK for its time, but it was definitely one of the replicas in most dire need of improvement, IMHO. The new one however, appears to improve on the original in every way, and appears to be able to actually fight effectively in the Heavyweight Class. New drive makes it faster, smoother and easier to control, and its flipper now has a more powerful burst motor-as well as having the attachment point moved to its proper place so that it fires correctly. At the same time, it's been improved on the outside- it's better-proportioned, being wider and slightly flatter than it was, and with new textures to give it a much cleaner look.

And GF - I see your PM, i'll send ya the files tommorow :P
Excellent- thank you, I'll be sure to do the best job I can with them. If I'm lucky, perhaps it'll get my name in the credits as well- now that'd be a nice bonus.

This Firestorm does not Havokcrazyglitch does it? :/
Nope, I'm quite sure they'll have made sure of it- the problem lay there in the Judge Burst that got put into it in DSL2.1 rather than the Lifter Motor it originally had, causing it to fly everywhere whenever it fired. There is actually a fix for it somewhere, if I recall correctly.

Cheers! :) And well if you want to have a go at the texture then be my guest ;P I'll send ya the robot if you do :P
And they do! :) Might need to be moved back a little, but hopefully I can do that easily with a bit of BFE :)
That's quite alright. I'll be happy to give it a try as well- after all, if I can skin Panic Attack as I did, then hopefully I should be able to the same with Firestorm, too. Could you throw in Chaos 2 as well if it's alright? I might try skinning its chassis to resemble the internal macguffins, like on the previous one. And I'm glad that's so- like the revision of Firestorm I uploaded on the Robot Exchange, it should be able to perform the "Rear up and shove an opponent OOTA" stunt that the real Firestorm was known for. I'm looking forward to seeing it, and hopefully I'll be able to help out on it where I can.

Few more updates :P
Retextured Chaos 2 and updated the flipper AP problem:

New Wheely Big Cheese:

New Firestorm:
(Image removed from quote.)
(Not too keen on the texture for Firestorm... if anyone wants a go at working on it feel free :P)
Thoughts? :)
You know, if I could +1 you for those, I definitely would. They look superb, particularly in how Chaos 2 and Wheely Big Cheese are with their new improvements, totally improved from how they were in DSL2. Firestorm looks fantastic as well- its proportions appear far more accurate, and looks much more like the real robot as well. My only criticism however, is that the paintjob isn't quite right yet. What it needs is to have the yellow pattern moved up a bit to near the top of the wedge, as shown with Firestorm 4 here- But other than that, it's brilliant- do the rear wheels protrude out the back like the real thing as well?

Weldor 3. Took me forever to make it look all beat up like this. (Image removed from quote.)
Schweet, I particularly love how the paintjob looks.

I don't think PA was that flat :P
The series 6 version was definitely flat; it was a terrible prototype. Series 7 also was quite flat:
(Image removed from quote.)
Aye. I based it on the RW Extreme 1/Series 5 version in terms of both livery and dimensions. It was still a very low machine, which gave it its renowned low centre of gravity.

Some Argentinian company made a Falklands based Counter Strike Source map, with the UK as the terrorists. Don't they know that the AK47 is far superior to the M4A1 in cs?
Ah yes, I saw that too- I just love how they consider us terrorists when they're the ones who attacked the Islands unprovoked in the first place. The absolute pinnacle of desperation and patheticness from them, next to Kirchner trying to get the Pope involved.

GF - Didn't think PA was that big really :S And I really like the textures on your PA, would you mind sending them to me? Only thing I'd have to say is I don't think PA was that flat :P
Here's my version:
(Image removed from quote.)
Only thing i'd maybe have one up on is that mine uses my altered 'Crusher Motor' for the lifter, making it a bit more of a realistic lifter. Doesn't have a lot of power though, so works better as a pusher :P Also, can't really AI it at the mo - it might require a new kind of python file (I'm thinking the same might be required for Razer, and I might work on Plunderbird 5 and Suicidal Tendencies replicas, which will require the same). The type of python file i'll need will be one like LittleMetalFriend, except it focuses on the servo a bit more, and puts the weapon back to the original position when a robot is out of the smart zone (I find the current LMF py sometimes forgets to raise a crusher arm, ect. when a robot is not in contact, if that makes sense :P) Also, i'd need it to work like a pusher more, instead of stopping when a robot is in the smartzone. Anyone know anything like this? :P
Oh yes, the textures for everything are here- Ducky provided them for me originally. I've also provided a download link for the replica itself along with its skinned parts, so you can see how big it is and how it works for yourself, if you like. (DSL2) https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/6632PA3_GF.zip Personally, asides from a few issues with textures and the need to convert its internal components for DSL3 use, I'm very happy with it. Yours is good as well, but I think it's too tall and too slim, and no offence, but I really don't like how the front of the Srimech lid cuts into the body like that, nor how the skirts are too small for it.

She's just distracting the Argentinians from he fact that their economy's f*cked by stirring up national pride. She must know that she would get decimated if she tried to take he Falklands. On top of that, not a single person on the Falklands wants to be under Argentinian rule.
That's exactly it- what better way to distract people from the fact you're crashing your own economy into the ground? Hell, as long as you can blame someone and stir up patriotic fervour by declaring war on them, it's all OK to her. Even when the botox-blooded fool claims that we're being imperialistic over wanting to protect the Falklands from Argentina, yet she's clearly the one being that way- the fact that she thinks the views and opinions of the Islanders are "Irrelevant" and that her toadies consider them to be criminals should tell you everything you need to know about her and her government. And I was very pleased to see the Islanders standing up for themselves on the issue- definitely one of the best "Screw you, you're not going to take us over" moments to Argentina I've seen.

F*ck Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. That is all.
Quoted for truth- her moral code is so twisted, it's laughable. According to her, it's perfectly alright (And outright encouraged, no less) for her country to attack some small islands and their population unprovoked, with the intention to turf them out of their home, build drilling rigs, and kill and maim those who defy them. Yet at the same time, because the UK sent Soldiers to put a stop to it and liberate the Islanders, they are cowards and murderers for doing so. Absolutely pathetic.

She didn't take sh** from anyone, especially not Argentina, and that's what's important in a leader.
Aye, I remember that well. The pathetic bunch of sods are still bitter about that even now.

EWWW Winrar
7-Zip Master Race. Does everything better and is FREE.
Really? I have both installed and I never use 7zip. It's always quicker and more convenient to use Winrar IMO, what with it being on the right-click menu and stuff.
Next to that, seeing the trial never ends, doesn't that mean that it's also just free?
Basically, yes.

I'm not sure what kind of reaction that is.
Can't say I follow Politics a great deal, but it's a downright venomous one. Old lady with dementia dies, and to him it's a cause for celebration. And at the same time, it gives me an unfortunate idea of what that facist broad Kirchner and her toadies will make of it.

GF93 already did Panic Attack a while ago. I don't believe he shrunk any of the components though. I was more of the opinion that some of the smaller bots (Bulldog Breed and Dominator 2, in particular) needed to be bigger.
But that would be fantastic if you worked on updating some of the replicas. Then I will just need to do some .txt file editing to get the components properly balanced.
One thing to take note of, though; I'm trying to phase out all those weird hidden replica parts like the flatmotor, AU replica motor, and darkcell batteries. Make the cheatbot2 component list a little less cluttered. I want to use stock parts whenever possible in the new replicas.
If that's a job you want done, consider me hired! :D
And well one thing I'm thinking could be done is some of the replica components don't really need to be there - like the different shell, ect., so maybe setting their hidden vaule to 1 will make them almost invisible when it comes to the components list, and also makes the cheatbot2 list less cluttered aswell (as desired :P)
GF- Well i'm going to be leaving little details till the end more, and along with the top slopes, the flippers AP is on my to do list :)
@Click- Yes. To save you looking for it though, Wham- Made it using the textures from RW: Extreme Destruction. Its size was intentional on my part, since Panic Attack was a pretty big robot in real life. I've also since updated the skirts on it, so that they're more consistent with the rest of the body- would you like me to send you the textures for those as well, Click? @Wham- OK, that's fair enough. Better to have it once it's finished after all, right? One thing I could suggest with it is to rig it up like Bulldog Breed's flipper, with the top half of the flipper acting as a burst motor. That way, it'd fire realistically, and you'd kill two birds with one stone with the whole "Replica Parts doubling as useful parts of the robot" approach. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it if HypnoDisc is anything to go by- keep up the good work, I reckon we'll be in for a real treat once they're all finished.

I'm also very much liking the looks of the new Thermidor 2 and Pussycat. In the meantime, I'll try and reinstall it and see if that helps. EDIT: OK, I've got it working now- looks like the reinstall helped it out tremendously. I can use HypnoDisc now, and it's just so much fun to use. Would it be alright if you could also send e the other four replicas you have, Wham? Thanks.
