That has got to be one of the tiniest robots I have ever seen. How does it stack up against Terminus for example?

I asked the same question to myself. I'm guessing it's a rear-hinged full body flipper (similar to The Matador's S5 variant) judging by the two lines going across the body. I sort of need NFX to clarify that that is the weapon the robot uses and of course for the skin.

I don't know what "tryhard" even means anymore due to all the goddamn definitions out there. Does it mean you're trying to win the competition despite it being IRL? Does it mean that you're basing your robot off of IRL stereotypes (e.g weak wedge with exposed wheels and absolutely no weapon in the insult form of the word?) or are you using the real life definition of tryhard, which involves imitating the reigning champion's designs? Are you even just making an averagely successful design (VS) to fit in with the rest of the competitors? It can be construed in so many different ways.
OT: Yes, more competitors. It won't be so empty after all. I was just getting tired of seeing my name in the last few numbers. You wouldn't think I sent my entries in the first 2 weeks. 544

I use Fireworks for overlaying images, creating awesome-looking text (my new Articulator shows this on the top), making parts of the skin look see-through and editing parts that would normally take hours to edit in anything else. Paint.net is my logo rotating, colour replacing and alpha channel guru, and regular old MSPaint (not the new one, that version sucks balls and is over-complicated, one that's based on the 95-XP version of Paint.) for anything else that requires a bit of elbow grease to fix.

I found out by accident (while trying to hit PrintScreen) that PauseBreak inverts the esc control, so when you pause the game the pause menu appears but the fight still continues. When you unpause it, the menu disappears but the game pauses itself.

Yes, this thread is quite old isn't it? I did get to work on Sliced 400 briefly a while ago, but I'm too lazy to upload pics. Anyway, here is a teaser showing the first two ARC replicas I will make, SHW No Quarter and MW Holy Kahuna:

I wonder what happened to all the entries we got last time around? There's like 15 less in each weightclass than there was last time around with only 4 days left. I know Clickbeetle's busy on DSL3, some of the pacific-ites are coping with winter and Nar/Awesumsauce are throwing hissy fits over last competition but there shouldn't be that huge of a gap.

BotApp was a BattleBots game made from Bullet Physics, until the guy that created it lost the source code for it. He built FrenZy, Nightmare, Gray Matter and Minion. It probably still is the most realistic robot fighting game ever made. It even had tank-style controls.

I still don't get why they were taken out of the picture in the first place, and the surprising amount of massive circlejerking regarding that decision which happened with robotic "experts". I remember finding a news article which said something along the lines of "Hurr durr I'm glad they're gone nao bcuz the title of superheavyweights sounds redicolus, especially when you consider that heavyweights are the best boxers. Also, they are not entertaining and have dwindling numbers hurr hurr hurr and I know nothing about robot combat's heritage." I wanted to find where that guy lived and beat the living crap out of him for posting that tabloid-based drivel.

Will there be any weapon restrictions? I've got a perfect ramming weapon working, but it uses quite a few spikes.

Nice. Now if you can slowly "rebuild" the physics that were contained inside BotApp, we might have a good game on our hands. Maybe you could enlist the help of daleksec7 as he's built a fairly good robot game with that engine. (IIRC)

Also, slight typographical error with my name. I'm not THAT young. But yeah, I'll be entering this for sure.

It's a BattleBot - I can tell from the white background and reflection. I have no idea about the bot though.
