Also, it's skinned like PA3 but is shaped more like the series 7 version, so some skin updates are in order.
Not to be rude about it Click, but PA3 and the Series 7 version were essentially the same robot- except that the latter had an anti-hammer cushioned plate rather than the self-righting lid that time around.

What about PA with a white Spider? I saw him w/ 1
That's the Series 7 version you're thinking of.

Can Someone explain in one post what is being changed/added in DSL3?
But of course.   :P

My general plans for DSL 3.0 are as follows:

-The existing replicas will fight better.
-All the replicas will be moved to their real weight classes. For example, Mechavore will be a HW and T-Minus will be a MW.
-There will be a new, official SHW class with its own yellow 'SH' icon in the bot selection screen. Replica SHW's such as Minion, Vladiator, and Sir Killalot will fall into this category.
-There will be a new Race game mode in Exhibition, which will include at least one straight drag strip and one oval track with laps, both of which will be compatible with AI. There will also be new AI bots designed for racing.
-Some general component balancing issues, particularly batteries and wheels, will be addressed.
-A few other random small things and bug fixes.

My plan is to make the replicas' difficulty level on par with the stock DSL AI.

Where are all the DSL2 replica weapons and parts ? Do you have any intention to include them ?
Some of them will be included, Nary. Most of the additional replica parts (In particular the ones that were too good or too useless) and cheat components (Like the Flatmotor and the Darkcell Batteries) will be cleared out so that everything is less cluttered, and more streamlined. Otherwise, they'll be keeping most of the ones that currently serve as part of the standard DSL metagame.

At the same time, they'll also try to use stock DSL3 parts wherever possible- built mostly to the same rules as the other robots to make it more balanced, but also with a few specialised parts that work for other functions whenever possible.
HypnoDisc for instance, is built on a flat 5mm Titanium chassis (Removing the need for that fat and complex custom frame it used to have), and the top part of its chassis with the spikes doubles as a burst motor for its self-righting mechanism.

Started work on the new 259 :)

(Image removed from quote.)

Now bigger and stronger. The disc is powered now by a 132 perm motor. Can now easily destroy other bots. Has also had a nice retexture :P

Tommorow im hoping to work on the skirts and finish up the body's texture :)
Ah yes, that's looking pretty good so far- have the issues with the disc's collision been sorted out?

Anyway, started work on the new 259 :) Can be seen in my RW thread :)
259? Ah, fantastic- that one definitely needed some improvement with how crappy its disc used to be an all. Going to take a look now, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you've done to improve it.  ^^

Well played.  :P

But yes, I have to say- with how some of the new replicas are looking, it should all be pretty good once it's finished. As Chaos 2 appears more-or-less finished, which ones are currently being worked on?

Just to bring this back-

super monkey ball 2
Oh yes, I've still got that one for my Gamecube. One thing I definitely liked about it was how it had fewer, but all-round better Party Games than its sequels- I mean, I'd much rather have a few really good games than loads of crap ones. Monkey Target 2 in particular was a hoot when played in multiplayer.    :approve:

Discussion / Re: Robot Wars Soundtrack
« on: April 11, 2013, 09:20:17 AM »
After being inspired by a user of the Robot Wars Wiki who did it himself (StalwartUK), I was able to extract the soundtrack and textures from Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction.
After people on here finding the textures useful, I thought people may also find the soundtrack useful, and it would be good if we could utilize it in RA2 as battle music and so on.
For those who are interested, the soundtracks to all of the Robot Wars games are available here http://robotwars.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:StalwartUK/Robot_Wars_music. Many thanks to StalwartUK of the Robot Wars Wiki!

I also made/found a number of recordings myself, including the Pit Siren, 3 2 1 activate, cease and others. Also included is a battle music mix I use whilst playing RA2. I managed to copy code from another arena to get it to play during battles. I was wondering whether something like this could be implemented into RA2 in some way in the future.

Awesomeness. If there was a way to play different tracks for each time you play it, I could imagine these being fantastic for the background music on the new RW Arena.

Would just like to quickly clarrify some of the details for certain :P

Chaos 2 is now -
Faster (NPC speed drive)
Stronger flipper (I can easily place an 800kg robot on the flipper, charge forwards with it and launch it out of the arena)
Correctly proportioned :P
Excellent, that's good to confirm- so anyway, do you think you can send me the aforementioned two fairly soon? As soon as I've recieved them, I can begin working on them.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: THATCHER IS NO MORE

I dunno, I really don't care about her death anymore. I think at this stage the whole thing has spun out of proportion, like you guys. Much while I dislike her, she doesn't deserve quite this much hate, or this much media attention.
Thank you, that's much more reasonable. Even though I can't say I really knew a great deal about her, her demise certainly shouldn't have been met with revelry by ignorant young tossers who don't know a thing about 1980s politics.

I mean, an old woman's died of Dementia, and the first thing they do is rejoice, openly proclaim she's burning in Hell and throw big parties over it. It's absolutely disgusting.

So is that like the British version of the Onion?
Might be. General attitude from those people, though- Thatcher dies, and suddenly every 15-year old in the land is suddenly an apparent expert in 1980s politics.
