If I'm reading this right, your telling me that if something was wrong he would not be posting here? Exactly. Right now he is only trying to make us reassure him that his life sure does suck. Also the way I see it, compassion can go a long way for some. Yes other take advantage of it and others see it as a way to get attention, but also it can help and show that at least some one has the patience to try and help. Compassion makes sense only if something really worth being sad about happened. Now for all I know you may be showing your way of that but right now from what I see of what you have posted to him on the issue, it was not helping him. I may have been somewhat too harsh, but as Noodle said, I have had it with these MOTHERFU CKING THREADS on this MOTHERFU CKING FORUM.

He does not strike me as the type to think like that. Yes if people with that mind set need to be "set straight" but for others you'll only make the problem worse if take that approach all the time. As you know every ones different so I try to base there thinking style (in this case how he posts.) and try to help accordingly. There are just some thing that are the same in everyone. Even in this case, it's very simple to diagnose - if there wasn't anything wrong with him, he would not post on an internet forum expecting compassion, but instead focus on solving the problem.

Not really. If you call him "big" you won't tear down his "I AM SPECIAL WHY PEOPLE HATE ME" mindset, and this is what you would need to do to succeed. If he actually is morbidly obese and it hurts his social interactions, the only way for him to change would be for him to realize that he NEEDS to change, ergo realize he's a fatso, not "big but my mommy says I'm special". Only then he will want to change instead of expect (subconsciously) other people to reassure him that nothing's wrong. Can't we just leave alone the so-called "emos" to sit in their own depression and chillax?
