I like DSC's better though because it was the original :P The tail looks awesum

Despite 123STW beating me to it by about 3 years :P
But yes, this is looking good. You could almost say it's TAURsome

Wordy post incoming, lolz.

First off, I'm not looking for an AU because it would just be egotistical of me to think I deserve one, when I've not done anything special. I just make pretty bots. :approve:

Second point, I do concede that the skirts aren't really required or necessary on this front-mounted spinner, it's almost gotten to the point where I add them out of habit rather than style. I'll keep the ones on the rear though as decoration, they're purely cosmetic at the back. Weapon will stay because as nice as the last one was, for BB3 it was the wrong choice. Who says I couldn't make them interchangeable though? ;)

Lastly, i'm not uploading this to the bot exchange. The great thing about IRL-style building is that it can inspire people to make something like it, and it's also easy to figure out how to build it as well. There's no trickery or glitch to most IRL bots, it's just using what you have to make the coolest thing you can. :)

So after being a little surprised by the positive reaction this got, and now having no idea how to follow it up... here's more of the same!

Fixed a lot of errors on the first version, such as:

- 2WD is gone, it was hopeless in moving a SHW robot in a fight, Now has 4WD and while still not the fastest, it's at least able to maneuver now.
- Disc weapon improved. Moar hypno teeth mounted on large beater bars for added weapon redundancy. Angled disc also helps to keep the bot stable if teeth are lost.
- Improved wedge position
- Arms will now activate if a bot gets on top of Carbon Copy 2 to inflict additional damage.

it's never going to be able to self-right, so it'll never be perfect. ;) But now I need to try and build something to top this.

I've been working on a new bot, would you like to see?

If I make signups in time, this will be my Battlebots 3.0 entry. Effectively a SHW version of Warhead, hence the 'Carbon Copy' nickname i've given this. Arms lower and raise, disc is very similar in style to Scrap's Demigod (weapons mounted between discs to offer better protection, also looks cool visually.)

I would +1 rep you for this if I could, for posting about something I genuinely didn't know about and that is also intriguing too.

Oh man I had my bot and everything.

Same here. Damn. Filled up so quick. I spent most of Sunday on my bot for this.   :rage

My attempt at redemption will have to wait until Season 3...

It's redundant now, seeing as he's changed the bot - but to me, the bot is realistic, and could have been made moreso if we had the capability of modifying components. You could cut a slot/hole into the Firestorm Flipper for the wheel to sit through, making it realistic. We don't have the ability to easily modify components in RA2 however, but it's no great leap of the imagination for anyone to see what is being sought in a design.

Which it said to do in the Readme ;)

Can anyone else confirm or deny the Team HQ page being screwed up by the UI? I've managed to fix the problems I was having viewing Teams by deleting the Ui folder and replacing it with the DSL 2.1 version. However I want to know if it's something i'm doing wrong on my PC, or if it's a common issue.

IMPORTANT DOUBLE POST

DSL-TC v1.0 download!

DSL-TC v1.2 patch download!

UI is something special. :approve:

I'm mirroring the file as well so that it doesn't get almost lost this time, but someone might want to make an 'idiots' version of this - whilst I can do exhibiton matches and they work fine, Team HQ is broken. It's probably due to me not knowing how to install it properly.

Credit also goes to Mechadino, who unintentionally stumbled upon that download page.

Using my Google-Fu turned up this page: DSL-TC Is Due Out Today

However, whilst that site can be viewed on Wayback Machine, it did not archive any of the files themselves. However that topic did turn up this post, the teams for DSL 1.0

It also prevents people using them as makeshift 'caster armour' seeing as they are invulnerable.

I have at least 4 designs in mind for this, of varying greatness and cheapness. This is going to be an excellent tournament.

Here you go. Seems this plow is flipped.

Emergency Snowplow

Plan on making a few more of these based on notable Stock/DSL AI, and a few other bots. For whatever reason this snowplow is mapped better than the one in DSL. Odd. (Based on the SD_Snowplow)

Can I request a tutorial for making a basic hovercraft bot and wiring it? I've not made one of those before and there's no tutorial for one, hence why mine isn't moving in the Practice Arena.
