If you really want to laugh, watch this-

Then realize that the team that built Preda Raptor built "Inflictor" aka Tripulta Raptor.

As well as Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Carnage, and Pack Raptor(s). The Pitzer's are fairly well known, indeed.

My point was more that they lost both fights they've had with a hammer wielding mini-fridge.

One wheel melty's are very doable, and even non melty's with a single wheel can move around fairly well.

You can see an example of relatively linear movement with 1wd in this video-

What the melty system does is instead of slower, full reversing, it modulates the throttle resulting in specific portions of the rotation being faster and  slower and uses this to translate across the arena.

Thanks!  I haven't tested it out against any other bots yet, but I have a sense how it might do.  You can't see it in the picture but the weapon motor is a DSL servo, because the IRL version's blade spins at just 230 RPM (you're reading that right, I didn't drop a zero).  You think people would be cool with me swapping the servo for a more powerful motor even if it compromises the accuracy of the bot?

You could always put it on an NPC, since that appears to be what it was mounted to.

It was a very basic game with IIRC, a nightmare style bot and a bot that looked sorta like panic attack with the spiked wheels. I can't find any live links to it online, so the best chance of finding it will be if someone still has a copy buried somewhere on their computer. They copy I had is a few dead hard drives ago.

Awesome. Hope the move wasn't too stressful.

This is probably beyond your bot class but I will ask anyways.  Do you want this:

https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,3489.msg119926.html#msg119926

couldn't sell it on ebay.  Don't need it and you can have it if you want.  I can ship it out to GA easy.

I don't think I've got anything I could use that on.

good.

if you can do it well.
the new scorpion isn't that efective, but maybe if you use a setup like jack orr's feather weight, pure evil  i may be better
That's alright to here- I mainly based the idea of one, along with a bladed tip that could do actual damage on Mortis, one of the old greats.

And Mike...what do you think of the kits?

They look pretty solid. If I remember correctly, at least some versions of the MW/HW flipper Sub Zero used the battlekit as the base, as well as the lightweight Sabertooth. They're a decent setup as long as you've got a good weapon to put on them.

cool, man build one!! if you have a spare £600, if not build a feather, i will stil fight you!!
Sounds like a plan. Anyway, I'll take you through my ideas. The idea is to build a HW Robot around one of these-
http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/MAG-BKT220.html
4-wheel drive Heavyweight bases, from Team Nightmare.

From there, I plan to build a box-wedge shaped design, its top being predominantly made out of industrial-grade Perspex(for weight, good degree of protection, and to simultaneously showcase the inside mechanics, thereby impressing audience members and making the prospect of engineering cool to them again, just like how the original RW did), with a bulletproof drivetrain and a lower frame made out of a lightweight, but tough metal.

From there, I plan to give it two weapons- the first being an electric-driven axe (with its own seperate power source) with a heavy bladed tip (theoratically capable of striking three times a second, and causing actual damage to opposition), and next to it, a flipping arm driven by low-pressure CO2, capable of self-righting the robot if flipped, and lifting good degrees of weight.
With this, even though not being as powerful as a standard high-pressure system, it should be capable of utilising more lifts, whilst still maintaining strong enough power to throw opponents around...possibly out of the arena itself!

FYI, the battlekits are actually from the Biohazard team, they just sell through the RMP.

I think the fight between mine and JD's bot will be quite the show if they meet.

That's what I'd vote.

Not sure which of the remaining colors would work best, but brown and maroon both would probably work well.
