i have a horizontal undercutter that has a skirt mounted spin motor. they definitely wobble as the robot is a timebomb, but not as much as you would expect. it would work on any other robot

ill chip in if its really gonna be like that. cant say theyll be spectacular but hell if its really gonna be a while

so if i want dsl 3 youre saying i might as well install as-is because ill be sitting here for a while otherwise huh

no offense click im sure you bust your ass and idk how much help youre really getting with this

i like to try and make my chassis shapes unusual or at least atypical for the type of bot that it is just to ass a bit of uniqueness to a bot. i like the idea that someone could see a silhouette of my bot and be able to know what they're looking at still

doesn't work for everything but hey

524
oh thank god yes

so is this out already and im just not seeing it or what because ive been seeing a lot of dsl3 bots in the showcase

also how long before you're done with your mod boss man? i appreciate it up the max

Trying to get back into building/RA2 in general.

boring mw wedge
is the way you got the back of that into a v shape a bfe technique? how did you do that? it's awesome

527
are we going to be able to have alternate color extenders/shells/disks/plates and things of that sort in this one? like in a drop down when you click on the item so as to save space
would really contribute to having better looking and more unique bots. ive been wishing forever for such a thing

i decided to make something that i almost never bother doing: a popup

the first version sucked, not fast enough. swapped out the motors for fasts and improved the weapon, now we have hot trash
made a lightweight version too. have to work on a better skin for this guy and maybe ill re post him. i think im also going to have to make his wedge a little more effective. he gets under just about everything, but thats not everything so

thats ****ing awesome dude! i think adding armor to the walls of the dustpan itself, although making it more battle effective, would spoil the aesthetic qualities of the bot that you have going for it. give it a shot though and post it up. just make sure you export the bot as-is first before you do it, i'd hate to see such a wicked bot get ruined

id better put a watermark on this very important and time consuming image. i would hate for anyone to be mistaken about its origins

that would be just so super terrible.

ive noticed that whenever my axles fly off (usually by accident) they without fail leave the screen completely. its kinda dissapointing because sometimes it'll happen at a time where it would actually be useful to attach something but nooo nothing is ever easy is it. thanks for the tip though im going to try it a few times anyways and see what i can do

and yeah that is a beetle the armor is really light for a wedge/ram which is how it stayed underweight

im posting from my mac so i cant grab a screenie right now but yeah you might want to set yourself a spot at the table so you can be ready to eat those words

The wheels look too cramped together, IMO.
yeah i thought so too but thats the furthest apart i can get them in that chassis and smaller wheels wont touch the ground

ill try paint.net but i cant install anything else on my bfs computer without an argument. might do it anyways and hide it in my personal folder though because at this point i really really miss photoshop capability. i may start emailing my chassis templates to myself and doing them on this computer as an option as well since ive got cs6 on here and im already familiar with it. dont want to have to learn a whole new program right about now yaknow

im trying way too hard for me to not be happy with this but im not. its kind of really meh. maybe it's just because it's just a boring beetleweight pusherbot with terrible drive and power but that shouldnt be the problem because i only built it so i could try using an online image editor for skins as opposed to paint

whatever yall its da fwiggen lobster hand

im trying really hard for the beat up hyper-realist look from the new robot wars expansion but you can only do so much with online image editing i guess

and i totally disregarded where i put my wheels and spikes when i slapped those decals on -eesh. too late now

yeah i wanted one of the black disks because it'd look better with the side skirt type thingies but you cant attach them with the blade intersecting the chassis so i was stuck with the grey one.

ill post some other pictures of it tomorrow but im getting ready to hit the sack and im not all that proud of this thing anyways as it stands right now. i at least want to know what it would have looked like with the damned edges i worked so meticulously on ffs

first attempt at a realistic skin using ms paint. i hate it and i didn't remember to find a name for the bot somewhere on it. i think most of the reason i don't like it is the color, but the wedge tip doesnt line up on the sides proper either. groan. ive got to find a way to sneak photoshop onto this computer

the back and underside is lexan pulled from a photo of killerhurtz, the red is pulled from another robot. tried to do the edges custom with an authentic worn look by lining up the edges i pulled from the bots and meticulously pixel-by-pixel'd it together (the original photo was angled funny), but i guess it was -just- off because they werent visible at all and i ended up using the bot-lab edges as subtlely as i could. covered it all up with crud because nothing really vibe'd right. ive wasted too much time on this tonight so im going to try another bot tomorrow. something easier, a box maybe. there wasn't much chassis to begin with let alone play with on this one. i know i can do far better, ms paint be damned :armsakimbo:

hello incredibly old thread. every once in a while i do a search of google to see if i can find the demo of the battlebots game floating around somewhere on the internet. this time i found something ~almost~ promising

this guy was a tester for the battlebots game for gcn/ps2
