You could download it, extract the stuff, merge the Components folder with the one you have already, and delete the rest of it. That should get you the AI stuff and extender you want without any other unnecessary stuff.

If the wedges are good, I don't think you'd want to mess with them.

You could use a pair of 20cm extender to move the outermost HPZ's a bit further forward, I'm still not sure they'd be doing much.

Ah, I see. I must have amalgamated the two at some point and forgotten about it. Sorry about that. =)

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: General Chatter Thread« on: August 10, 2011, 04:14:50 PM »TBH, the coloured usernames are trustworthy thing does bug me somewhat, simply just because most of the time when it is said (i've seen some cases where it's worded better to be fair) it makes it sound like everybody else doesn't know what they're talking about. It's not really the intention of that, but the trouble is that the regular members group also comprises people like Garvin, Hard Bot, Avalanche, Sparkles, people who - most of the time - don't know what they're talking about. Which is why I always make a point to mention that you learn who gives sound advice from experience more than anything else. But when you're just starting out, and you don't have that particular benefit, then the coloured username rule is a pretty easy - and generally accurate - one to follow for a newcomer, whilst they build up their knowledge of the other members. 4949

I'm not sure if you installed the 1.3 or the 1.4 version. If you download it from Joe's website, I think it should have the side AP thing on it.

I think we might be. It's a slightly more vivid shade of red, with a green line on the end face?

There are a multitude of ways you can become one, but the main thing is to be a helpful and productive member around the forums. But you don't really get any special perks just for being an AU, aside from the gold username and pool tables, so you should just enjoy your time here regardless. =) Build some awesome IRL bots. 4952

I'm pretty sure it shows up in a clean copy of Stock V1.4, along with the AI Components and the 140cm Square Extender.

You could get rid of the pointless wedge at the back of the chassis, that might net you the 4kg you need to widen the plows on the sides.

You don't really need the one for the wedge. It's going to be pretty terrible if it's static. Maybe you should try angling the Stabilise ones forward a little bit to reduce the need for heavy and vulnerable extender work.

What? 36HS is evolving!
Congratulations! Your 36HS evolved into a 45HS! ![]() Yup. 45 maces of doom. 798.0, DSA, 1 Black, 1 HPZ + Granny for drive. 4 casters on the underside and a plow for defense. Works by the torque reaction of the spinners turning the robot one way and the wheel turning it the other, resulting in forward motion. Can only move in two directions, though: forwards and turning right. |
