It won't hover long enough on the point that I want to attach it to.

Well, it sounds like a similar problem, but I'm on stock (aside from the Starcore v3 AI pack) and also, I have tried to leave it and come back, but it keeps doing it.

Thank you, JoeBlo.
And I believe I have made an enemy already... Oh well, it will give me someone to aim for. 4910

I am having trouble with positioning components. It's anytime I try to position anything outside of the chassis (such as a wheel onto a motor shaft). The mouse has to be positioned just right for it to let me place the component. And its really annoying when you have actually rotate the component.
Does anyone know what the problem is and a solution to it? Or is it just normal? 4911

Tankcat: I don't expect to be taken seriously at this point. The "X-Para Mental" bot was, as the name suggests, experimental and was never intended to fight at a competeive level, in fact it has already been scrapped. It was quickly thrown together using the "Coal Miner" chassis for fun.
As far as the N-12 wheels, I have been told that and will stop using them, thank you for your advice. And the Ram Plates... if you look closely, they are not attached to the extenders they have Baseplate Anchors. Well ok, the top one is, but it was due to lack of room in the "Coal Miner" chassis. The extenders were put there before I added the top Ram plates, thinking they would keep the robot from landing on its sides or back. And yes the pink batteries are a waste of room. And about your last comment there, it was veterans who told me to make a showcase in the first place. Sonny_Resetti: Refer to my statement to Tankcat. moonbear: Are you trying to say that I have the balls to steal another builders design and claim that it is my own? There may be others similar to it, but I built it and it is MINE. And also, I said the design has had several one hit kills. Plus, that is the only recorded kill time I had. And I have had to rebuild it from memory several times due to computer crashes and no memory back up. Each time I had to do that, the design changed a little. That one is just the latest variation, and it is far from perfect, or even being as good as it once was. JoeBlo: Thanks for the tip. I will remeber that. 4912

I'm guessing I don't understand what you are saying. What do you mean by I could have more on one piston?

This robot is a quick rebuild of the "Coal Miner" stock bot, the chassis is the same, but everything else is different.

Well I assure you, it is MY PERSONAL DESIGN. It has been built, and rebuilt several times by my self. And the only way it would be on YouTube is if when I did a few online battles a few years back, someone else recorded it.
It sounds to me like you're saying i need to build a lightweight or middleweight. Not going to happen, because I like big, heavy robots that pack a big punch. That design in particular has knocked out a stock heavyweight in a single hit. I have also built (and scrapped) a few lightweights and middleweights that work on the same principle. 4917

Hey guys, this is a kind of dumb post, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I finally got it working with the Starcore v3 AI pack. I get what you guys meant that if I wanted a challenge then that was the way to go. My own bot, that whoops up on the stock AI, can't even touch most of the Starcore AI. The farthest I got with it was round 2 (in season mode). So I got into my designs and looked through them and found the stock Coal Miner bot. So I tinkered with it, pretty much stripped it down to nothing but chassis, rebuilt, and tried it. It won the first event it was in. :)
I'll post some images of the design, if i can figure out how to post my screenshots. I'm starting to get better! Woohoo! |
