Lightweight-- Ziggo and Backlash
Middleweight-- Hazard
Heavyweight-- Vlad the Impaler, Vlad the Impaler II, Biohazard, Nightmare, Tazbot
Super Heavyweight-- Diesector, Son of Whyachi, and Vladiator

There was a Vlad the Impaler II? Or is that just the one that had the self-righting mechanism?

Most of the Custom Series looked nothing like the real ones. Some exceptions would be Dr. Inferno Jr., Son of Whyachi, and El Diablo. As a big Vlad the Impaler fan, I was a bit disappointed by the red forklift and weird aesthetic changes.

What I mean is that the others were pretty close to looking like the real thing. It's like they made it as an afterthought or something and just threw it together.

I can just imagine somebody at the company saying "Oh, crap, we need one more. Quick! Throw me together something that looks like Minion."

I made a mistake...

Run Amok was the winner of Robotica that year.

And it really should be, sorry about that.

What were everyone's favorite real robots? Was it on BattleBots, Robot Wars, Robotica, or something else? What weight class (if applicable)?

My favorites were:

Ziggo - BattleBots - Lightweight
El Diablo - BattleBots - Middleweight
Biohazard - BattleBots - Heavyweight

And there was one on Robot Wars that I liked. It didn't do very well, but I liked it. It had wood for armor, and I can't remember the name of it.

Then there were a couple from Robotica, too. Spring Breaker was one of them. It had an awesome paint job, but it got knocked out in the quarterfinals. And the there was one named "Run Amok", it used a steering system from a junk lawn mower. It seems like it was fairly competitive, but I think got knocked out in the semi-finals.

So what were your favorite ones?

I was never able to get Minion. The one time I didn't have enough money for it, I found it.

The RC Minion looked nothing like the real Minion anyway.

The only reason I used the square extenders was so i could see how far I had rotated them, but yeah it's a waste of weight.

Also, is there a way to shrink the chassis without losing all your components? If there is I'll gladly do it.

Nice bot!

I've been playing the game a lot over the last few days.
So much so that I was like "WTF?" when my right mouse
button didn't let me rotate your pic! :-D

Yeah, I seem to have the urge to rotate the bots in the pictures, too. lol

@Joeblo: BBC sold RW after series six. Here in the UK series seven was shown on Channel Five.

Then wasn't it sold again? It was on TNN here in the states for a while. Mick Foley was the host at that point.

And actually toward the end, it was on Nickelodeon (a cartoon channel) for some reason. I remember because they call Sir Killalot, Sir K.

JoeBlo: Have you ever watched BattleBots? I think there is some on Youtube.

Everyone else:
I'm pretty sure I had all the push and explode ones. I even had the Battlebox for the trigger ones. :) But I got it out last night, and I had modified it to say "Robot Wars" instead of "BattleBots". I can't imagine why I did that... seeing as I didn't really like Robot Wars. Young and dumb I guess...

Wow, I thought i had most of the RC bots, but Jeffery listed abunch more than I had. I wsh I had known there was a Mauler 5150 build kit, that sounds pretty awesome.

Yeah, those are some of them, but there were also little replicas, and radio controlled toy robots. I'll go dig them out and see what all there was.

Does anyone else still have the little toy BattleBots that they came out with?

Strangely enough, I still have mine, most are still in tact even! That's not typical of my old toys.

Does anyone else remember the show "Robotica" that was on TLC for a while? I believe it was on the air about the same time that BattleBots was so popular. Seems like it came on right after "Junkyard Wars" on Wednesday nights on TLC.

Game Development / Ideas for new Robot Combat Game

exept flamethrowers. Sgt. Bash, a house bot, had a flamethrower. they should be in a game.

I know this was from a while back, but I just have to say something.

Am I the only one that thought the flamethrower on Sgt. Bash was totally useless?

Another thing, of the all the robotic combat shows I used to watch this is how they rank.

#1: BattleBots - No flashy pyrotechnics trying to fool you into thinking a bot exploded. And most of all, no rigged matches. It was simple, destroy the other robot. No bulls---.

#2: Robotica - The 3 different stages of the competition made it interesting to me. Your robot had to have speed and agility, good manueverability, the ability to get through obstacles, (and be watertight one season). But when it came down to it, it had to fight well.

#3: Robot Wars - I thought Robot Wars sucked because: Most all of the robots were shotty, half-a--ed, pieces of junk. Then there was the house bots that in my opinion, couldnt harm a fly. And don't even get me started on "The Pit" that everyone always yelled for because of the fake explosion it produced.

Sorry for the rant, but I had to get that out.

Looking at your logo, you use a 1px yellow Stroke with the default Drop Shadow on your title. (It looks like a font I'd know but I can't put my finger on it)

And you use a dark blue Outer Glow with increased Spread (Or maybe just a 3 or 4px Stroke) and a Reflected or Linear Gradient Overlay consisting of Blue Yellow Blue Yellow (Blue?) on the subtitle.

Classy.

Thanks, and good eye! Are you a graphic designer yourself Redline? Or do you just like to tinker with Photoshop?

How do you effe parts? I have seen you guys talking about it and I don't know what it means. And I'd also like to know about stacking batteries, if you don't mind filling me in.

So pretty much, scrap the redbird with the sawblades completely, and put in burst motors on the wedges. Then put something different on the tri-bar. Sound right?

What do you suggest instead of fire axe?

And would a chew blade be effective at all?
