Geez guys, I can understand you guys not liking it for not being traditional robot combat, but I think you guys are letting nostalgia get the best of you. I know many of us had robot combat as something we enjoyed, and some of us grew up with it and had it as part of our childhoods, but you guys want to judge it against something its trying not to be. Battlebots had an enormous amount of filler, much worse than than RCL, Robot Wars had some serious problems with some battles getting rigged, such as Mortis in season two and the whole Storm2 fiasco, not to mention being somewhat gimicky in the form of the house bots, and Robotica is a whole other can of worms. Robot combat in general has stagnated a bit. All the major bots in the UK are mechanically the same, and most major US bots are either huge monster spinners, heavily armored wedges, or a lifter of some kind(If you think I'm exaggerating, just take a look at botrank, and tell me the first three historically ranked heavyweight bots) Just let it be its own thing, if you disregard then staged pyrotechnics, the matches are pretty decent(although, one of the teams does come from my state, so take that as you will.) Give the show time, compare bots from the first Robot Wars to the seventh. If the show lives to see season two, the bots will improve, get quicker, the pace will find its stride, and the bots will get interesting.

This should be in DSL showcase btw. DSL has more emphasis on wheels, not motors. Cut down to two E-Teks and Overkill/Techno wheels for more speed than the motorcycle wheels. You only need one ant battery per motor, so cut down to four ants for more weight savings. Cut down on the pistons. One or two with a lot of weapons save more weight than a bunch of pistons with a few weapons. Shrink the chassis, it will help to cut down on weight and makes the meat of the bot harder to hit(Despite what everyone else says, height has no impact on HP, only the square area of the bots base plate)

Kinda a poor argument, considering that many builders in the US can rebuild their bot in less than 20 minutes, even with spinners in high demand.

Is this a first? A (kind of) serious AW DSL popup?
Micro Launch Platform beat you by about two years.

To make a long story short, I got 30 bucks to use, and I have a simple question: Does this charge this correctly?

Common guys, can we stop comparing this to BattleBots, I don't care if it's glorified rock-em sock-ems, I want to see two giant robots beat the sh*t out each other.

Ok, update time. Short Stop about 85% done, I need to wire the battery, fix some electrical problems, and make a wedge plate. Here's the most recent photo I have of the bot currently: Current weight is about 14 ounces. ...yes, my ant has a big ass ni-cad, don't judge me.
