i request the addition of the cone to this mod. i have no good reason for this beyond its the cone...
I second this.
But will the Havok physics engine be able to accurately portray the cone physics?
What's there to portray? Doesn't it just run around until it gets tipped over?

Supernova; my second exception to not doing DSL robots This one I made after having a look at the DSl version of Supernova, and seeing some possibilities for improvement; I suspect that the guys only had the one source pic of Supernova and no Youtube videos to work with. The disc and teeth are built from components, and the wheels are T-Minus' lodged inside Pussycat's. The motors have been cranked up to ridiculous speeds so that it flops around like the real one

It's hugely subjective, and at times polarizing, but here is a generally accepted list of the "best" in no particular order:
Razer Tornado Chaos 2 Panic Attack Firestorm Hypno-Disc Storm II Pussycat

FIRST does task-based robot events. Their founder doesn't like violence, or even the concept of winners and losers, so that should give you a sense of how likely it is that a FIRST event will involve combat. I would assume that Warhead still resides in the garage of Ian Lewis or Simon Scott.

Have you tried just wiping the offending line and starting from scratch? When you can't solve the problem with a toothpick, a sledgehammer is the next-best thing.

The "ding" when you score 10 points for being on the platform could be a "yup."

This makes me want to do a King of the Hill tourney.
. If you do, you should overlay all the sound effects with Hank quotes or something.

Nice copypasta, but I thought he was dissuaded from voting for Bush because of his limp handshake, not his political views.

She's calmed down. She's talked to her family members and hopefully things will be alright from now on. She isn't 100% cured, I'm assuming she'll continue to cut from time to time, but at the moment she's not suicidal, and that's what matters.
It seems to me that her mother is the main fuel for the fire. My best advice would be to leave the house, even if for a few days, to one of her friends. That should ease things up quite a bit. I'd like to understand how abusive her mother really is. Either your girlfriend has, for whatever reason, a huge rush of emotions drastically magnifying the real situation or, if her mother really is abusing and even ignoring suicide threats from her own child, I suggest getting help from whatever child protection service her country has.
She has depression and not a lot of friends, yet. She's only recently moved in to Alaska. Her mother is just about the only thing she complains about so....
You should ask her discreetly if she's on her period.
Yeahhhhh..... no, not recommended.

I've already got the drivers installed, how do you change the controls because when i was trying on the wiring it wasn't doing anything when trying to assign a button? cheers
. Is there a way to map your controller to existing keys instead of making new ones? Like pressing A is just Spacebar or something?

Would that actually work? I know heat melts snow but have they said just how much fuel you need to do it?

True, but I'm like in robot kindergarten compared to you. I'll get there eventually.

I'll be honest, I think you have it backwards, but I won't stop you from doing what you want.
Backwards in what way?

I see you signed up resetti! good on you man!
this year's gonna be amazing
perhaps you could arrange something to get troubadour together again?
It will, but it won't be seeing combat for a while. I'm goign to keep it at home for study and driving practice, and enter events with repurosed R/C cars - I took one apart, and the insides seem manageable. I doubt I'll win any matches, but if I can take a battle-damaged car and get it working again, that will be a personal victory for me. In fact, I severed some wires by accident while I was taking it apart, so already I have my first repair task.

Worst case screanrio, if the registration is full, what are my chances of getting to fight if I just show up with a working robot? I feel kinda bad about taking a spot with a robot I haven't built yet, plus it being a naff R/C car with a cake pan

I think I'm good. I read through the rules and found two that seem to indicate it's ok:
Radio controlled robots must use approved ground frequencies, typically 27/49/50/53/75/900/2400 for the United States. Mine is 27.
6.4.4. Toy radio systems are allowed for robots up to 6 lbs with no active weapons
