Jack, that is a beautifully constructed bot there. Might even bump my builders block.

Found it:

It's called Sweet Poppin' Corns (a spoof on Sweet Cuppin' Cakes; R0B0 was right on) and it's a SHW AAM popup.  Kind of copying that one popup ACAMS made a long time ago.

^I like that part of the quote.

You're absolutely brilliant, 123. I'm an art major and I can't draw anything like that.
Thanks.  I already have an art degree, but decided to go back for economics because I am more comfortable dealing with numerical data.

How the heck do you do that in around three hours?
I think that picture took 1.5 to 2 hours.

You're an Econ guy too? Nice. I have my Macroecon midterm on Monday :/

Also, how the heck do you do that in around 1.5 to 2 hours?

I think everybody wants their pics now xD

I'll refrain from doing the loser bracket and therefore the grand champ too until I know if Joe is going to switch up the loser brackets or not, but here's how I think the tourney is going to shake down:

Yes, I have LiNcK coming out of the winners bracket. Some bots are aided by great matchups, while others don't have favourable ones at all though, and that all plays a part in the results. Depending on the structure of the loser bracket, it's completely impossible to even guess a champion at this point.

ACAMS HAS A BOAT!?

...

You know what this means?

RIVALRY

I have 5 boats  :laughing

a little bass boat
a big bass boat
a little river boat
a big river boat
and a barge

You know what this means?

BOAT RACE.

Who'd be the anchor? I'd put a vote in for either JD or ACAMS. I'd draft Joe for the team as well...

Just when I thought it was safe to think I could have a relaxing tournament for once..

Joe - I think that you should re-do who goes where in the loser bracket.

Well, I am the devil incarnate... I mean advocate. Everything you ever do, I'm here point out the flaws and generally make your life miserable :D

Actually no, I just want to make sure things are fair and run as well as they can by pointing out things you may not notice.

And yes, I do love my long posts. Makes me feel smart.

Although nothing is in the portion of the chassis that is cut by the disk, in order for the bot to work, the portion being cut by the disc would have to be removed, therefore changing the shape of the chassis from a cube to a rectangular prism

The issue I see with this reasoning is the idea that if a part is intersected by something moving, that part which is intersected must be actually considered removed when dealing with the other rules. This is an assumption being made on your part, the way I see a bot could just as easily be "reset" each time another rule is looked at, thus one "modification" in order to comply with one rule doesn't have to be carried over to the other rules.

First off, I'm not actually serious about your entry's realism. It's still within the spirit of the realistic rule, so it's fine by me.

Second, I don't like the method for following rules that you're postulating. Basically, what you're saying is that if a bot follows each individual rule, it can violate the rules as they are written out as a whole. This makes no sense! Isn't the purpose of having rules to make sure that nothing violates them in part or as a whole?

The old guard is taking a stand, and I'm not even old. I was just really good when I was younger.

I'm just confused, because so many of these bots are blatant clones. I guess I have to remind peole what bots I have with some updates.

Glad you're back, but have you forgotten how good builders progress? I'm pretty sure we all started out with clones. I know I did. I'm pretty sure Scrap, Pwnator and others did too. Originality and creativity comes largely from experience with the game, knowing the boundaries that you can push and how to exploit glitches and techniques that can push them.

Are RedAce's bots original? No, they're not. You're right. But he deserves some applause for being able to flat out build. Say what you will, but it's been quite a while since someone's come along and been able to clone bots from you, Starcore and others and make them as well as the originals. His originality will come in due time.

Joe - I think that you should re-do who goes where in the loser bracket. As it is right now, there are no possible scenarios that bots on the right of the bracket will fight bots on the left of the bracket until a final. What you should do is alternate which side of the loser bracket that robots are placed into upon losing. For example: switch [loser 2-1] with [loser 2-16], [loser 2-2] with [loser 2-15] and so on. Only do this for loser rounds 2, 4 and 6 though.

This will eliminate the chances to losing to a bot in the first round, and then being knocked out of the tourney by the exact same bot in the next round, it will produce some more variation in matches, and reduce the chances of losing to a "bad draw." I'm fairly certain that Click does this to even a greater extent in BBEANS, and if you really wanted, I'd adapt his brackets just based on the structure of this tourney.

Also, Urjak's bot IS unrealistic by definition of this tourney. Although nothing is in the portion of the chassis that is cut by the disk, in order for the bot to work, the portion being cut by the disc would have to be removed, therefore changing the shape of the chassis from a cube to a rectangular prism, which, BY YOUR OWN DEFINITION, renders it inelligible for any Clash Cubes tourney. But I don't really care because I think he loses to the first good gut-ripper he meets :P
