I think the flex in it should be useful when fighting spinners, absorbing their energy and not allowing them to get to the wheels.

Locks
IT'S LOCHS, DARN YOU! LOCHS! D8<

and you call yourself a Scotsman >.>

No, you're thinking of a different sort of lochs. The lochs you're thinking of is are lakes in and of themselves, the locks I'm talking about are like a massive set of doors where you come in from the lower part of the river, the lower set of doors is sealed, water is pumped into the lock, which lifts the boat up, and then the upper pair of doors are opened, allowing the boat to effectively go up a slope.

It's Somebody facing Mike this round, isn't it? Then either myself or S.T.C. facing them, depending on who wins.

No, on the street corner by the locks. I'm pretty sure there's only about two of them. ;)

I think it's quite good that your sister's doing well, it's showing that she has potential, and this might offer her incentive to sign up to GTM.

Another thing I think this shows is that simpler designs can still work. Green Pea's run puts me in mind a little bit of Valid Query 2, there were a whole host of better-built bots in the field, but it still managed to keep winning. There's no doubt in my mind that S_M has the better bot in terms of build quality and complexity, but that doesn't necessarily translate into combat, as we've seen.

Getting ready to go to Scotland on Friday (Holiday v.2)
Awesome, which part of Scotland?
Fort William
I've been there a couple of times. There's some pretty interesting Locks in the river running through it, and an excellent cafe near it that I can't remember the name of. I think it's on a street corner.

Looks like quite the rammerfest, with a few HS thrown in for good measure, and a couple of guest appearances. I'll write up some proper predictions later, but I'm gonna put my money on either The Beast or Reflection to win.

I think NFX could have gotten rid of the razors near the drive motors and used the weight on longer extenders instead.

I did try longer arms, but the bot would start havoking when it got up to full speed, so I used shorter arms to prevent that, and added some razors to protect the motors from side hits.

(and prank you all with the title  :coolface )

Why would we even suppose that someone like you would do a true "i'm leaving" thread at this point ? Oh sure, you're overreactive enough for it, but it would trash your precious reputation and would make you look like a n00b, and you know it.
Now you're just ruining everyone's fun. :P
Unfortunately for Naryar, fun cannot be expressed logically, and it is therefore beyond his realm of understanding. Much like using a microwave.

@Enigma: I am merely counter-trolling GF

@NFX: Fun is quite clearly in my realm of understanding, and it can be expressed logically !
But not the microwave. =P

you missed an argument about Scotland.
And how it is superior to Alaska for inventing television instead of Sarah Palin. =D

I remember someone saying that ice-picks are a good idea because:

1) They protect the extenders/discs.
2) They work on a spinner.

I can't remember where I read it...

You're thinking of maces. You want to use Iron Spikes on this design, lose the rear wheels, add some front stabilisers, and add some more weaponry on the disc.

Welcome to the boards, Tacos. =) You'll probably need the 1.4 patch for this tournament, I'm not entirely certain where to find it, though. Good luck to you if you do enter.

I'm getting better and CoD. I got my K/D from .69 to .70!

(It's big for me!)

I don't understand that. Does that mean you've killed .70 people for every time you've died?

Interesting. My computer started having CPU temperature errors and shut itself down. So I took the last hour or so and make a duct out of cardboard and duct tape and hooked it up to my computer and this big-ass fan I have. I suppose we shall see how it works out.
Very Blue Peter solution. Hopefully it works.

Scotland is just a whimpy Alaska
<pointless image>
Alaska produced Sarah Palin

End of discussion.
So? They aren't proud of her, and they try not to think about her existance.
Scotland did not produce Sarah Palin. Therefore Scotland is superior.

And we invented television.

It's an unpowered Ring Spinner, which is an IRL design that has to be made this way in RA2. An axle mount is used instead of a motor, which allows for more powerful drive to be fitted, and less weight required to be spent on batteries.

Ah well. Have a good time, and don't do anything TOO daft. Try goosing a local police officer, that should be fun. :gawe:

Right, MSN has decided to start working again for no reason. I was getting seriously PO'd with it, my girlfriend will probably go spare.
