General Support / Component skinning problems« on: July 16, 2009, 10:51:34 AM »
If you're just skinning it by changing the map, that shouldn't happen. The only way it wouldnt be in the preview is if the game can't find the .gmf of the component, which means you either changed the .gmf file's name, or made a new one and forgot to make a new .txt to go almong with it.

Modifications / Re-Stocked AI: BETA and Release« on: July 15, 2009, 09:10:03 PM »Quote from: Trovaner;51792 ALL stock extenders have 100HP no matter what size (DSL is different). So having one 40cm extender would have the same HP as one 20cm extender. With this in mind, having two 20cm extenders would be twice as efficient i(40cm; 200HP) as having one 40cm extender (40cm; 100HP). Unfortunately, the 200HP isn't completely accurate because all the opponent has to do is deliver 100 damage to either one before it breaks off but at least this way your opponent has to hit something 20cm long instead of something 40cm long. (the same basic principle applies for extenders larger than 40cm but I thought it would be easier to understand if I used a 40cm extender as the example) yes, but two 20 cms is actually longer than 1 40 cm (dunno why) so it might change the bot. if its just a wedge that should be fine, but if its something else... 4685

Not realistic. The amount of hole you would need to make for the razors to fit is too much compared to how much the sheet protects you.

Go into bot lab. hit export template at the bottom. name it something, then hit ok. close the game, the go into your custom textures folder in your main ra2 folder. it should be there. then all you have to do is use paint or whatever to skin. the grren lines represent the sides.

Hmm. I think rammer py will crash if the bot doesn't have the right controls... ima do some tests.
EDIT: I replaced the rammer.py that was there with the original from stock ra2 and it works. It must have been messed up somehow... but anyways roly poly is backwards, and i fixed it. edit2: ninja was backwards. fixed. 4695

Mhm, move the ddts back and turn the razors around so the flat side is hitting the other bot, then it will be perfect. nice work.
oh, forgot to say you still have to rotate the start position on the ddts back. its way too far forward. 4699

YAY a new member! WOOHOO!
As for the bot, very well built. Bring the razors farther back and reverse the DDTs so that the razors are wider (turn each DDT 180 degrees). Get rid of the smartzone and download the Madiaba smartzones from the download page. You could completely rebuild it like this: Spin the black battery 90 degrees and stack the other one inside of it. Bring in the hpzteks because the one black is skinnier than the two. (This means also make a new chassis). Axle glitch or snapper load the two snapper2s so you can fit the DDTs inside the skinnier chassis. I know it's a little hard to follow, but if you can do it I will be very impressed. |
