Might have to fool around with toppusher.py to have flamethrower compatibility. I have 3 pinks instead of a nifty, since a nifty only puts out 15 amps compared to the 20 I need for the spin motors. 463

Custom Components Showcase / Re: Sage's Retooled Showcase« on: September 10, 2016, 07:04:19 PM »Slamhammers are high risk, high reward, kind of like every real-life spinner ever.Sledges don't have enough HP because they have 2 frequency instead. I figured a lot of bots use sledgehammers for pushing/deweaponing, so I gave them frequency and made slamhammers the go-to high DP spinner weapon. If you desperately want a low-DP high-HP weapon, use snowplows or wedges or most of the extenders. You can also try iron spikes if you want something middle-of-the-line. edit: I should probably put the DP:HP ratios of each weapon in the descriptions at some point, I feel it would be useful so people know which components are good for each bot type. 467

Modifications / Re: *ARENA* - Battle Center (Needs New Name)« on: September 04, 2016, 02:12:15 PM »
There's a few ways to add elimination zones, but most arenas just use this bit of code from the tabletop arenas:
Code: [Select] def Tick(self): where Y is the height a robot needs to be in order to be eliminated. If you were able to figure out the .gmf, finding the correct Y value should be easy enough. The code is pretty flexable, plus.eliminatePlayer(each) can be changed to any command, such as plus.addPoints(each, X) or plus.force(BotID, X_Direction, Y_Direction, Z_Direction) or whatever. You can also change the < to a > if you want a robot that is higher than a certain height to have an effect, rather than lower. This thread also has some information on how to add OOTA zones and other hazards. The arena itself is looking pretty good. The only thing I would really add is a hazard or two, just to give it some variety. I feel some combat zone-esque popup spikes, or hellraisers would fit well with this arena. 475
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Stand Generator« on: September 03, 2016, 06:50:31 PM »
Stand Name: 「Giving Bad People Good Ideas」
Stand Ability: Powerful Objects Power - B Speed - A Range - E Durability - D Precision - C Potential - D Description: Some immensely strong and powerful Objects in fictional universes (such as the DC, Marvel, W.I.T.C.H) can grant numerous superpowers to the wielder. Some of these objects are sentient and have a mind and will of their own and can even take full possession of their host's mind and body if the host is in grave danger, or when the host is angered or enraged. These sentient artifacts/objects can even speak through their host when it takes full control over the host's body and mind. The voice of the object depends upon the sex of its chosen host. For example: if the host is female then the voice of the artifact is female, same goes for male. The voice of the artifact is much deeper than its host and even alters his or her personality. Most items are accompanied by Powers Via Object. will AS find his magical macguffin? find out next time on draggin jojo's balls z 476

Made my first arena, it's a heavily edited version of the BBEANS arena.
![]() It's called the GTM Championship Arena. Real creative name, I know. You'll see this one in action either in the upcoming GTMC, or the next one, depending on yugitom. ![]() ![]() All of the corners of the arena (including the walls) have ramps, which can do some serious damage if hit hard enough. 2 of the 4 corners also have spinners. These spinners are slow to get up to speed, but have a high top speed, and weigh 300kg each. Getting hit by one of these at the wrong angle can lead to massive damage (right now it does up to 2K-3K on a good hit) and possibly even an OOTA. After 2 minutes and 45 seconds, the walls protecting the robots from the OOTA zone will lower*, leading to a sudden death situation. ![]() If you want some measurements to test your robots with, the arena is as large as the BBEANS arena (not surprising), the walls are slightly higher than the DSL tourney arena, and the spinners are a bit faster/punt-ier than the Containment Cube's spinners when they're up to speed. inb4 Quote release plzThe arena is still being slightly tweaked, and will be up until signups close; it will be released after the first GTMC. It will also be included in the next release of Retooled, along with whatever other arenas I make, and an updated version of the Vaporzone (unless 090901 says otherwise) *unless you turn hazards off, in which case they won't lower. The spinners will still be on, though. Otherwise you'd just have a box. is it stable enough to start building something for GCS?Short answer: yes, long answer: there's a few cosmetic bugs that I should be able to sort out, but other than that, yeah. It won't crash or anything. |
