Over a year, huh? Tweaks to the bots I entered in BB6. I have ideas for the other two, but I want to see their progress before I start tinkering with them. resPAwn - chassis was rebuilt, but it's essentially the same, aside from the addition of side skirts for a little better protection. Complete and utter rebuild, v5 and 6 have been made since the start of BB6 too, yet didn't fix the problems the bot has. This version is able to move inverted - not greatly, but enough to actually drive around and aim the weapon, certainly enough to move out of danger and count-outs. Weapon is beefier with more beater bars, the top disc is more for protection but the hypno teeth are capable of causing moderate damage, enough to justify them being there.

Damn, Komodo got violated to say the least. It could win though after taking off two wheels.
I wouldn't say 'violated' at all. Both were evenly matched, but I would argue that GIRL U WANT lost weapons (beater bars and 1 vlad spike near the end) andmobility (2 wheels) through the fight, whereas Komodo lost the pointy ends of it's weapons, but could still move normally and self-right when needed to.

Can I be honest? I thought Spawn did a lot better than I thought it would.
As a whole, I actually feel a little ashamed I just resubmitted previous entries, with no updates. I know that even if I was to redownload DSL and try improving them to a point where i'm satisfied, the bots i've entered are just going to lose embarrassingly quick.

DSC- pretty neat, WHY DONT YOU SHOWCASE!!!!!
i think he showcased that bot lel
I know but his showcase was my favorite back in the day.
Genuine answer is that after being away from RA2 for the better part of a year, I found it incredibly fiddly to do anything. Lining stuff up, wiring, i'm completely out of practice, and ideas. I'd love to do more, but the fiddliness of it all makes me lose interest pretty quickly.

Some awesome fights here. Shame on me for not being around for the signups.

and I wont be getting rFactor because I'm into rallying.
There are certainly games that can do rallying better than rF. RBR I think being the main choice, yet I would still maintain with the right mod rFactor would provide a better overall experience, due to the fact RBR really lacks a proper net-code. I remember trying to join a league, downloading a LOT of additional crap and still having NO clue as to what i'd even done, let alone if it worked. I am not faulting the game as it is pretty old at this point and is still miles better than any rally game since, but I'd say PC racing is defined by it's online limits, or lack thereof.
There are several different mods for RBR, and they all provide online play.
I know, I wasn't saying there was no mods for online, maybe I was unclear. I was just saying that for a complete newb to RBR, I could not fathom how to get it running and racing people online.

rFactor is probably the game it is nowadays due to the massive amount of mods and tracks created for it. Whilst the 'stock' cars/tracks you got with the game were good, people seem to prefer newer mods with real-life tracks. But in a way it's better, as most of this new stuff is free to download. :) If there's any leagues I see that focus on the default content i'll post them here. As for painting cars, I've focused on establishing a livery that's easily recognisable as my own team, yet versatile enough to fit onto a wide range of assorted and varied racing cars.

I fear I may 'win' this thread, as i'm quite involved in racing rFactor online. Not super competitive or one of 'those' racers that competes for actual prize-money, but I have my own online racing team established, and for the last few years have taken part in a number of online endurance races. All of these have grids of at least 38-40 cars, all are done in real-time, and have ranged from 'short' 6-hour events, to 12-hr Le Mans races, and most recently a 24hr race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I also paint a lot of cars for this game, although I won't post those yet incase i'm boring the crap out of you.

Yeah... I think i'm a very distant 2nd to Thyrus in IRL building. That looks superb.

Ok, what do I say here..? Thank you for admitting I had no chance of winning out of 200 fights? Thanks for picking the dramatic one that still sees me lose on a complete fluke?[/sarcasm]
Sigh, doesn't even seem to be any point in asking for a rematch, or seeing what other members think. Well done to SKBT anyway, i'm sorry i'm feeling a bit sore about this match, you're not at fault here though. I was losing anyway apparently, so good luck in the finals.

Bad luck Craaig, but I'm still surprised I've made the semi-finals. Can't think I'll get much further against Skidmark though. Speaking of the other fights, no real surprises other than MikeNCR's bot being barged about like nothing. Sad to see Pressure's awesome bot go out, and the last match was a bit of a snoozer. Can't wait for the Semis now

And this is why you AI your own bots and leave nothing to chance. I learnt that lesson way back in the first BB tournament, now you know for the next tournament.

That was such a lucky hit, but i'll take it any day. Comiserations Enigma, if it's any consolation i'm probably going to be mashed by Craaig in the next round.

I think Scope deserves an award for being the only bot to OOTA out of the Battlebox.... twice. But omigod, I've actually made it to round 2 for once!

Feel like I shouldn't have to do this, but I have to point out I didn't enter Carbon Copy 3 into the SHW, Freeziez. I entered Komodo, which is in the same .rar file as Spawn of PA.

Aww. Started well but then faded badly. Forgot there's AI to swap ends when weapons break. Well done though Conraaa

If you would like another BB5 HW if Conraaa's is unavailable, I still have mine.
