Tournament Archives / Re: RA2 Extreme Warriors: Signups« on: November 21, 2010, 08:47:56 AM »Noob question, but how do I skin components? Go to the downloads page on GTM and download Dummy's GMF Compiler/Decompiler (Fixed by Megabyte). Then copy/paste the map file for the component you wish to skin. Colour in the map whatever you want. Rename it to whatever you want (say "blue"). Next, copy/paste the GMF file and rename it. Make sure that it has the same name as the map file. Open up Dummy's GMF Compiler/Decompiler. Make sure the right checkbox is ticked (you want it to decompile). Find the GMF which you want to decompile. Click open. You then need to find the destination. Go to the same place and click on the same GMF. Click save. Now open the GMF with Notepad and find the line which says "BITMAP" next to it should be something like "red.bmp". You want to change this to have the same name as the map file. So change it to "blue.bmp". Now compile the GMF. Now, you need to find the text file for the original GMF. Copy it. Paste it into the "styles" folder. Open it up and change the GMF name to the same as the GMF which you compiled earlier. Now change the name of it at the top. Go back to the original text file which you copy/pasted. If there isn't already, add a line which says "styles". THIS IS IF THERE IS ALREADY: All you need to do is add a comma after one and add the text file name (making sure to put .txt at the end) and add a comma. Then add the name of the component. THIS IF THERE ISN'T: Add the line about midway down (I think it's just above the Hitpoints line). Now put the name of the original component (making sure that it is the precise name). Then add a comma and add add the text file name (making sure to put .txt at the end) and add a comma. Then add the name of the component. 469
