My first really good DSL bots were the Humdrums, but those need no explanation. My first Starcore-3 worthy Stock bot was a VS-FS hybrid with 2 HPZ drive, a pair of chained icepick spinners, and two chicken drills. It could kill about a quarter of the SC3 heavyweights.

You just got the endless config screen of doom. You're not gonna be able to use it without manually hammering on it for two hours and giving up in exhaustion.

NAR AI makes me feel wimpy in DSL now.
For some reason, it makes me feel like a 1337 h4x0rz. I guess I have some kind of superiority complex.

Delta Strike is awesome.

Thats I rated it 2 stars because we all knew who was going to win, and joke bots are just a waste of everyone's time.

Unless they are incredibly awesome.

I was an insane battlebots nut when I was ten, and found the game then. Didn't buy it until many years later, though.

It nearly took out a SHW during testing, too.

Online Battles / How to have low lag multiplayer without Hamachi
« on: August 17, 2009, 06:30:25 PM »
ATTENTION! POSSIBLE FIX FOR NON WORKING LAN MULTIPLAYER!

Many computers today have dynamic IP addresses. This means that after certain intervals the computer will change your IP address randomly though a set range. Sometimes it's every couple of hour, sometimes it's after months. If the IP has changed between the time you give your opponent your IP and the time you join the game, you will get an error and will be disconnected! Here's how to check for dynamic IP

Quote
Open a cmd window, and type the command:

ipconfig /all

Look at the results. If the line Dhcp Enabled has a Yes beside it, you have a dynamic IP address. You'll also see at the bottom of the output when the lease was obtained and when it expires. This is when your machine got the IP address, and when it will be getting a new one from the DHCP server.

If the line Dhcp Enabled has a No beside it, you have a static IP address./

This is a huge pain in the arse to change, but it can be done fairly quickly. I'm not going to post instructions here because there is are whole sites on how to do it for every router and modem combination in existence. They're pretty easy to find. Some routers will allow you to change between dynamic and static IPs through their config, but I don't know about all of them.

Good luck with the multiplayer.

You have to be looking at it from straight on at the side, or you can't select it. That's why I don't use them. I assume the collision box is a flat plain, but I don't know.

What could I do about the weight?

Don't use replica parts. This will save you a LOT of weight.

Could you just put the spikes on the other side? Actually, never mind, you'd need a complete rebuild. You could try moving the motors around a bit. Even if you can't get it to work, it's a cool looking bot.
